Title: Coin Locker Babies
Aishiteru - February 24, 2004 09:44 PM (GMT)
Do not post untill you have filled out the form in the sign up forum. Also, do not just up and leave like I had done in Outerworld, let me know. This is going to start a day before they leave for Tokyo and Toxitown.
Katsura Fumiko hurried home, which sat on the beach. She through her bookbag on the bed in her room, hurriedly put on her bathing suit, and raced out of the house and down the hill to the beach.
Her black hair flying behind her, and her naturaly brown eyes showing, she ran into the sparkling waters. Usually she wore contacts, but she had soon found out that the salty waters irritated her contacts, and so she made a habit of taking them out before going into the waters.
Aiko's dog, Sulin, ran up and down the shore line happily as people passed him and patted him. Very soon Fumiko's black hair was soaked through, and she;d stolen Kiku's goggles, and she was swiming far under the water. Completely amazed at the wonder she called home.
Later, she gave the goggles back and was watching the boys show off with their surf boards. Earning jokes thrown at them. Yes, Fumiko loved her home. She had known since the orphange that she was a coin locker baby. She wondered what her real mom was like.
But now, she had more to worry about! There was Aiko, her foster sister. She wanted to help Aiko. Her biological mother could wait. "Fumiko! Fumiko!" Aiko was chanting as the girls raced on the beach. Fumiko passed the place marked finish, a stand selling seashells to tourists, and the girl turned and laughed. "Yay! I win!" She called, and the others tackled her to the sand.
"Fumiko! You won! Look, Fumiko! Hyo-san saw! Fumiko!" The other girl blushed a bright red. "Hah! Fumiko blushes!"
"Hush,Aiko."

Yori smiled. The sun was shining through his windows. He loved the natural light of the afternoon, it replenished his happiness. With his head held high, he walked into the "den" of his house.
"Hey pap." He said, waving at his father who was restfully sipping tea. "Can you make me some?" Yori asked, too lazy to bother to make it himself.
"In a little while." Said his father, not moving his eyes from their glued spot on the cieling. Yori could tell his father was troubled, but usually in cases like these he was not one to but in.
"Well..I'm going to go..outside." He said nervously, tip-toeing out the door.
Yori wasn't like the usual foster child. He rarely ever thought of what his real parents would be like. Even if they were blood, they were in no means his "parents" that raised him.
With a smile planted on his face, he hopped onto his bike. It was a perfect day to go to the beach, even though Yori didn't like water much. Or the fact that his shoes were always flooded with sand when he was done hanging out.
He rode foward, avoiding the people in his path.
To the beach.
Aishiteru - February 24, 2004 10:48 PM (GMT)
Aiko left, and soon took Sulin instead and was to finish her homework. Fumiko lounged on the beach towel Aiko left. She watched her friends play around, chasing eachother. She smiled as they ran around, kicking sand onto her towel. "Hey!" she called playfully, and stood up to join them.
"Wait up!"

((So this is a day before all of our families move right? Just checking.))
::Kitsun sat in her old room ontop of one of the many cardboard boxes stacked up around her. All of her things were packed now except for the clothes she'd be wearing tomorrow, and her things she'd need for that night such as toothpaste and PJ's. Kitsune was a sad sight. Her long stingly stright light brown hair fell to the middle of her back and her deep brown eyes stared at the floor. She held a book in her hand. It was "Peter Pan."::
::Kit was always obsessed with flying. Flying away moslty. Her foster parents were ok...but they weren't all tat nice to her. Kit didn't understand why they adopted her if they weren't ever going to pay attention to her. She flet alone alot. Kit HATED that they were moving because there was this GREAT big hill in the field next to their house where she had been trying to fly off of for some time. Of course her crazy flying machiens never worked....but she'd make one that did soon she was sure! But...if they were moving to a different place...there might not be a big hill. Kit tried not to cry. Her dad (well foster dad) said that they couldn't afford to live where they were anymore, so the place they were going wasn't as nice. He said that there were more buildings and less hills. He got annoyed when she pestered him about the hill.::
::Kit opened up her book...the covers so worn they were almost gone, and started to read the yellowed pages for literally the 97th time.::
Aishiteru - February 25, 2004 01:16 AM (GMT)
The others laughed and they were on the beach till the sun was setting. By then they all sat down beside each other, and watched the sun's last rays dissappear. Then they all, one by one left for their own homes. But not Fumiko, it was pretty dar by the time her foster mom called her.
She stood up, gathered her towel, and ran inside and sat down to dinner. They ate in silence. The Aiko piped up, "I wonder what Fumiko's mother is like." Fumiko looked at the younger girl.
"I don't ever want to meet her!"The girl screamed, stood up, and ran into her room upstairs.

It was just another day, wasn't it? No, this one was different...for the first time in Hyo's life...something was going to change. He was moving today, new city, new friends, new people. His room was now empty, a barren field filled with nothing but a few solitary briefcases...his foster parents never let him have much...it's not that they were bad parents, of course not...they were good people. They just believed in sharing a lot more than others. One television, one computer, one bathroom. Worse off, they wouldn't allow Hyo to buy his own things like that because "It takes up too much damn power"...well, he couldn't blame them, it WAS a small house. Maybe life in the big city would be better. Even since he was told he was moving a few months ago because...wait a second...just why were they moving? Ahhh...he didn't really care. Anyway, Life in the big city was going to be an important change of pace for Hyo, one that he cared about greatly...he spent the rest of the night only dreaming of all the fun he was going to have.
Aishiteru - February 25, 2004 01:26 AM (GMT)
As the sun rose again. Aiko, sad she had hurt Fumiko so baddly made her way down the hall to her foster sister room. Fumiko hadn't locked the door, and Aiko opened it. The room was empty and the bed made.
So Aiko went down to the living room. No Fumiko.
She went out to the veranda. No Fumiko. Fumiko wasn't on the front porch, wasn't in the kitchen, dining room. She was just gone.
She went back to Fumiko's room and found a note saying she had left for Tokyo.
Shinjuku was not a place for a teenage girl to be alone, Fumiko soon found out. She stoped and checked in to a hotel, glad to be out of the heat she had so loved on the island.
Sweat driped from her, as she walked up to her room. Once there, and made sure the lock was good, she counted the small bit of money. It won't last. Then what?
6th_Hokage - February 25, 2004 01:38 AM (GMT)
Yori skidded to a hault, slamming his bike breaks. He totally forgot! They were moving! He had not packed, and his father had been stressed about moving!
Anxiety swept over him and he rose to his feet and turned his bike around. He rode back to his house as fast as he could. When he arrived, he didn't bother to put up his kickstand. He let his bike aimlessly fall onto the hard ground and darted inside.
"Dad!" He yelled, "I'm sorry! I forgot!" His mind was bursting with sorrow, he hoped his dad would forgive him.
"Dad?" He said, after a moment of no answers. He wondered around the house, but could not find his father. "Dad?" He whimpered again. Wobbling slowly into his room, he found his dad sleeping on his bed. Around his father, were all of Yori's belongings packed and labled.
Yori felt tears swell up in his eyelids. He smiled, beyond happiness. Then, he heard the door fly open.
"Yori! You're father told me what happened!" It was his mother's voice. Yori felt his stomach drop through his feet and he slowly turned around to face his mom. She always went out around this time of day, and would never take Yori with her. Even since he was young. "Sorry mother.." He said, lowering his head.
"No! You're father works too hard! He is a tired man, and you cannot slack off like this you lazy sh*t!"
Anytime he saw his mother's face, he quivered. She hated him. Despised of him. He never could figure out why though.
His mother stamped up and smacked him across the side of the head, hard.
"What a terrible son you can be!" She hollered, her lips closed tightly after.
The words, one by one, pierced Yori's heart. He stamped into the bathroom and locked the door. He didn't cry, and didn't scream. He held it inside him.
That, is what hurt the most.
Aishiteru - February 25, 2004 02:32 AM (GMT)
Even in the hotel, it was hot and sweat soaked her clothing. Since the door was looked, Fumiko took off her shirt and skirt and sat on the sheet in only her underwear and bra, fanning herself with paper. She counted her money, decided her had enough to buy a small fan, dressed again, and left.
She walked into a small departnent store, and sighed with relief. It was cool inside and she looked at the prices for fans. She choose one and hurriedly paid for it. Soon enough she was sitting on the bed, the fan aimed at her.

::Kitsun watched the trees go by the window. They were driving to their new home already. It seemed like she hadn't slept at all, but Kit couldn't sleep in the car either. She was too afraid of the new place they were going to live in. Kit was sure it could have been worse. Hey...she could have actually had some friends to leave behind. She almost smiled at her horrid joke. Hey, maybe I'll make a friend in this new place! Kit thought hopefully. She doubted it though. None of the kids ever liked her. They thought she was weird. When she asked her mom if something was wrong with her, because no one wanted to play with her, her mother looked to her father and said, "well....she is an awefully plain child..."
::Kitsun stared out the car window. The trees started to fade and soon short two or three story buildings replaced them. She ahd heard her parents over tlaking once that the reason they had adopted her was because they had heard she was the daughter of a supermodel who had gotten pregnant by mistake. They ahd been hoping that she'd grow up to be a beauty, and win lots of ribbons and trophies, but Kitsun knew that she was not pretty. She wasn't ugly...just plain. Sometimes she wished she were pretty, but other time she hated the idea. All she really wanted was to fly away.::
::Finally they arrived. Kit dared to look out the window once more. What she found was dreadful. There were four or five story buildings all around, and they were all run down. It looked like there were rust stains running down the brick sides of all teh buildings from the rail. Kit thought it looked like the buildings were crying. Everythign was either brown or gray. There was no real color. She looked to the building in front of her. It looked like all the other buildings. Kit sighed. There wouldn't be a hill here. There wasn't even a tree.::
Aishiteru - February 25, 2004 09:21 PM (GMT)
The fan cooled her off quickly. She laid down on the bed thinking. "I will need money..." she said softly, before falling into a light sleep. When she woke it was dark.
She looked out the window, feeling caged in. The girl turned around and left the room. She walked down the streets of Shinjuku. With a peice of paper she fanned herself in the still hot air.
Soon she came to a barbed wire, and she walked around. Dodging the gaurds, having a feeling she shouldn't be there. As she dodged one gaurd, something caught her attention in the wire. She waited until the gaurd had left, and she walked to the wire.
It was a hole.
She scrambled through, and looked around. It was a park, a run down park. Fumiko walked over, she couldn't really see. There were trees-sick trees, but trees still-there and they cast shadows eventhough the sky scrapers threatened to tilt over.
She kept walking until she came to a silent market. She watched the business, facenated. She walked over to a table and sat down. This is how she could get money. She was in part of the market known for the prositutes...
Well, it wasn't what she'd choose. But did she have a choice? She did need money.

((Wow I wasn't aware this RPG would exist in such a manner. Anyway, is this based on a book? And I have an important question. Are we still living with our parents or are we abandoned in Toxitown?))
Yori, after a sleepless night of emotional pain, found himself in the backseat of the car laying his head back. He remained silent, as he had been since the last incident with his mother.
It had seemed like two more days before they arrived in their new home town. He quietly sighed, and sat up. Carefully opening the door, he found himself horrified as the town came into his vision.
"What the hell?" He said loudly.
Where he had lived was nice..but..this was hell. Hell on earth.
With his eyes sunken and his head held low, he soon found himself in a lower-then-low apartment room.
The air was disgustingly humid and filthy.
Still convincing himself it wasn't a nightmare, he walked outside and gazed around. Nightfall was slowly approaching. He wondered if it was such a good idea to leave the room now. Still, he trekked on.
After some aimless walking he spotted a cat hop across his path. Walking over to pet it, he found himself in sudden fright when he hissed and clawed at his arm. He retracted his hand and quivered backwards. The cat ran off.
A woman walked by him, she was dressed in tattered but colorful clothing.
"How much money you got?" She said, raising her eyebrow.
"Uhh..none. Sorry." Yori ran back to his new "home" wondering if she was a poor woman who made a mistake in life, or was hoping to get some money out of a "good time" with him.
"Why am I in hell?" He asked the sky as he approached the doors of the apartment.
Aishiteru - February 25, 2004 10:44 PM (GMT)
[Yes it is based off of a book, Coin Locker Babies by Ryu Murakami. And it's up to you, Fumiko ran away.]
She looked around the market. She soon stood up and walked back from where she came from. She then noticed the asphalt was striped, leaving a mud that stuck to her shoes.
It was becoming darker now. So she went to an abandoned warehouse, and laid down on the concret of the floor. It was cold, but she was tired. Free place to sleep she thought.
6th_Hokage - February 25, 2004 10:52 PM (GMT)
(Is it sold in local stores like borders? And you mentioned in the sign-ups about the guards. You mean we are not aloud in toxitown? Or..what? I don't fully understand.)
Yori gazed around, suddenly becoming angry. His mind was filled with fury. A foster child but a child still! Why was he constantly being treated like dirt?
Darting inside the room where his parents remained he burst in through the door. His mom stood up. "Where have you been?" She asked, sounding like an old witch from fairy-tales.
Yori shook with anger, his muscles tensed. "Ahh..F**k you!" He hollered, opening the draw in the cheap dresser they had bought and grabbed his father's knife. In a second, he was back out the door running away.
Stopping at the door of the apartment, before he left, he whispered to himself, "Sorry Father." and ran into the darkness of his new home, the streets.
Aishiteru - February 25, 2004 11:36 PM (GMT)
[That's right, your not allowed in Toxitown. And I should think so, if not your library might have it. Mine did]
Fumiko figidted, and awoke to find herself on a cold concrete floor. At first she couldn't remember where she was, and then remember the market. She sat up in the dark warehouse, suddenly afraid.
6th_Hokage - February 25, 2004 11:48 PM (GMT)
((Alright thanks. I'll probably pick it up this weekend then. I'de rather not be clueless with this RPG.))
Yori spotted blank-faced men. They must have been guards of some sort, and with the weapons they were yielding, they did not look friendly either. He slithered through the bushes and found himself on the other side of a fence or..something of that matter.
After a somewhat long time of creeping through the darkness, he found himself in Toxitown itself. Or that's what his conclusion came to anyway.
Unusual people wandered through the fightning dark atmosphere. Slowly standing up, watching for guards, he wandered around, amidst in the toxic almost-grey air.
Aishiteru - February 26, 2004 12:32 AM (GMT)
Fumiko left the warehouse and walked around the dark streets of Toxitown. As she walked she bumped into someone and fell onto her bottom. "I am sorry!" She stood up and bowed several times before she looked the person int he face.
She then gasped. "Are you Yori?" she asked, and bowed again.
CrossKnight - February 26, 2004 12:16 AM (GMT)
They lied to him, this wasn't fun at all! This was no big city, no people, no community, no nothing! This was a dump! A pigsty! The stench of the roads around him were deplorable, disgusting...it made Hyo gag. What kind of sick joke was this?!
MAD?! Why would I be mad?! Just because you've damned my life to this hell?!
Hyo...please, we're only doing this because we love you...
...I'm sick of people fucking up my life because they love me!
Hyo's voice and manner grew calm...he loved the people that took him in, he truly did...but just what was this? He remembered the small island he used to live on, it wasn't much, but it was still more than this...wasn't this supposed to be TOKYO?! THE city of the nation? So much has changed, he wanted his world to be different, but not like this. In a flurry of emotion and irrational through, Hyo stormed out of his house and ran away...
The city was a cold place, even in the blazing heat that swealtered around him, causing his body to scrape and rip as his clothing clung to his body. A few hours passed, a couple of beggers had tried to ask him for money, but he was broke, some thugs had beaten him and ripped his shirt, and others just looked at him strangly..he could go back home, but he didn't even remember where he lived...only the heat that surrounded him. ...He was somewhere else now, only met by men that stood above him like rooks on a chessboard, and Hyo was only a pawn....the world was freaking filthy...
Hey, bitch, what are you doing on the streets?
Leave me alone....
No one talks to the Daggers like that! Teach this whore a lesson
SHUT YOUR DAMN MOUTH!
And in a burst of fervered emotion, Hyo dug his fingers into the face of his adversary, blood poured from the wound and wrapped around his hand. Hyo let out another sreech before running...
6th_Hokage - February 26, 2004 12:35 AM (GMT)
Yori glared at the girl. "Yeah." He replyed, suspiciously. "Who are you?" He asked, wondering if he should try to rob her, or something of that matter anyway.
Aishiteru - February 26, 2004 12:43 AM (GMT)
"I'm Fumiko. Katsura Fumiko! Don't you remember me? Yori-kun!" Fumiko said, steping back to look him in the eye. "Fumiko...I was in your gym class...don't say you don't remember me!" She was on the verge of crying.
[It's okay]
6th_Hokage - February 26, 2004 12:46 AM (GMT)
((Oh man, I didn't see you post that! I'm really sorry, I edited the post. Just edit yours. Sorry again!))
Aishiteru - February 26, 2004 01:09 AM (GMT)
6th_Hokage - February 26, 2004 01:23 AM (GMT)
It eventually came to him. "Oh." Yori mumbled. "Yeah, I do remember you." He looked around, then back at her. "How did you get here?" He asked, intently, feeling a sudden burst of hope.
Aishiteru - February 26, 2004 01:28 AM (GMT)
"I ran away from home...away from the island." Fumiko answered softly. "Aiko mentioned my mother-I must find my biological mother." She looked up at him. "There really no way here to get money. Sell your body....or steal is the only way...I know a place where we can sleep." She smiled softly.
6th_Hokage - February 26, 2004 01:33 AM (GMT)
"Where?" He asked, wondering what he should do. "How are you going to get money?" He lowered his head. "I think I will steal." He paused. "I'm nervous."
Aishiteru - February 26, 2004 01:37 AM (GMT)
"I don't know. I would try from here...The people have as much as we do. Don't take anything from here. Follow me." Fumiko turned around and walked slowly back from where she came from.
6th_Hokage - February 26, 2004 01:40 AM (GMT)
Yori followed silently, dragging himself behind her. Motivation was unknown to him. Sighing, he gazed at the floor sadly.
Aishiteru - February 26, 2004 01:50 AM (GMT)
Fumiko came to her warehouse. "I haven't enough time to check it all out. But it is safe, and out of the heat. Cool." She said, walking into the building. "Later we can see what is salvegable. Sleep now."
6th_Hokage - February 26, 2004 01:54 AM (GMT)
Yori didn't really respond, he made a short humming sound. Sitting down slowly, and resting his back against the wall, he almost immediatly fell into his dreams.
Blue - February 27, 2004 12:17 AM (GMT)
::Kitsun had been crying in her room. Her boxes stacked up all around her. This new place looked so aweful, so terrible! How was she suppose to be able to fly away if there was no place to build a machine? No back yard, no shed, no place at all!::
::Eventually she stopped crying and went to her window. Their new apartment was ont he seventh floor. The building tops of all the other buildings stopped at about six floors. Kit looked out across the flat buildingtops....they almost looked like a large road. Then something caught her attention not too far down the road. Tree tops. They looked brown, and sad....but it was still tree tops.::
::It was late at night and her parents were asleep. Besides...they never came to check on her anyway. Kit slowly slid open her window and looked at the roof of the building under her. It was only a two foot drop! She'd even be able to climb back inside with easy reach! Quickly Kit threw her leg over the sill and dropped down to the roof below her. She landed, then turned looking at the next roof. It was even with hers...and so was the next...and the next.::
::Kitsun whooped with joy as she lept over the small gaps between the buildings. She lept over to the next roof, then the third then the fourth. Then at the fifth she stopped. She had reached the end of the buildings. Below her were the brown tree's she had seen earlier. But they were surrounded by a fence...and scary looking men.::
:: Why are they guarding the park? She thought. Kitsun suddenly didn't care. She HAD to get to the park. It was the only place she could build anything! She looked around quickly, then saw a large tree branch. It streached over the fence and to her roof top. Kit jumped up onto it, then crawled along the branch and over the guards heads.::
::Once on the other side she jumped down.::
"Now to find a spot to build my plane!"
