Title: FINAL GELF POKEMON TOURNEY!
Description: Info within...

Billy Shears - July 28, 2007 01:29 PM (GMT)
((Alright, I did some actually planning, which I haven't done at all as of yet. With my unusual motivation toward this next tourney, I'm thinking this will be the best one yet...))

---

Considering the events that unfolded at this previous one, I've realized a few things.

1. Battles take a long fucking time. By the time we finished the Round Robin sets it seemed people were a bit tired. I'm going to keep that in mind.

2. Two Pokemon = only 2/6 the fun. Two Pokemon was cool and definitely challenging, but I constantly keep thinking: "If only we had three..."

3. Helfgott's door prize was really sweet. Thank you, MJ.

4. Level 50 is a pretty sweet cap to use. This realization is probably causing the most trouble for me in terms of deciding the next Tournament.

So, with all that in mind...

The next and (unofficially) final tournament will be:

Monday, August 20th.

Take off work, it's more than two weeks from now.

We will have simply one GIGANTIC battle.

The prizes will be ridiculous and good. You will want them. You will crave them. YOU WILL HAVE TO EARN THEM.

Here's the rulezes:

- No Legendaries. I think we've covered that by now.

- If it isn't officially a Legendary, go and use it.

- You cannot use two of the same Pokemon in your team.

- If I'm missing anything, inform me.

---

The set-up for the next tourney will be...

LEVEL 70-CAP.
The way I saw it, 50 was a little low but still really good, but the original plan for the last Tournament was 100-cap. So, I decided to go with a mid-point between the two, considering I didn't want to do a repeat of the last one and I still wanted to make it realistic for everyone. Also, I'm fairly sure everyone evolves by that level.

SIX POKEMON TEAMS. AKA: FULL TEAMS.
Yeah, as I said, less than six = suck. Or, I didn't really say it like that, but yeah, that's what I meant. Full teams. It's sweet. Strategize plz - I sure am.

ROUND ROBIN.
Round Robin has really worked well for us. I hate to admit it was Helfgott's idea. Let's just say it was Sean's and be a little more extravagant.

THANK YOU SEAN FOR MAKING OUR TOURNAMENTS GREAT.

Anyway, yeah, Round Robin set-up. It's just fun.

So, with all that said, the tournament will consist of simply one Round Robin set. There will be a door prize, as well as a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize. They will be really good.

Just to say it now:

Faggy Mous WILL be given to the 1st place winner, but as a secondary prize. It's cool and all, but when it comes down to it, it's a fucking Bidoof. Nobody wants to win just a Bidoof for being the champion of the biggest tournament of the summer, lol.

Alright guys, I'm fairly sure I'm not missing anything. I'm looking foward to it a lot, and I'm hoping we'll have everyone from last night and more. Including Toto. I personally request Toto's presence. TOTO BETTER BE THERE.

Oh, and in regards to people invited/not invited, let's just say if you've been to one before you're definitely in. Otherwise, just ask me I guess.

Well, I'd first like to thank Gelfman for personally requesting my presence, and rest assured, I WILL be there...

however... I would like to suggest one small addition to the rules, I know we all had a lot of fun with it at the first tournament (Sean more than anyone since he was the only sadistic bastard to use it) however, even with that in mind, I'm suggesting we follow suit with the rest of the competitive world and go exnay on the obbuffetway...

Here's why:

In a level 70 cap that requires strategy, Wobbuffet is totally predictable and kills a lot of the fun...

for anyone who doesn't know... this is how it works

Wobbuffet Lv. X
Nature: Any... preferably Careful, or Relaxed

Both Careful and Relaxed power-up physical and special defense respectively at the cost of speed, allowing Wobbuffet to move slower than his opponent while bolstering whichever defense stat you think you'll be hit by more...

Item: Leftovers or (once again because Sean is an asshole) Shell Bell

Moveset: Mirror Coat
Counter
Destiny Bond
Encore

EVs: AGAIN DON'T MATTER, however I'd suggest 252hp/128 to each defense

Those are 4 of the only 6 attacks Wobbuffet is capable of EVER knowing and they are the best...

Wobbuffet works like this...

You're slower than your opponent and without the Shed Skin item, or the Run Away ability; Wobbuffet's Shadow Tag means they can't escape, therefore they have to battle you, that in mind...

Depending on which type of attack (Special or Physical) they use encore them into it,
encore forces them to use the same exact attack for 5 turns, you then use the appropriate response attack until they die. Because the item "Shell Bell" heals based on damage done to the opponent and both "Counter" and "Mirror Coat" deal double the received damage, Shell Bell heals enough to recover the damage you lost when you discover their attack pattern.

If Wobbuffet EVER gets within death range, you simply destiny bond on your turn and since they've been "Encore"d, you will die, and you will take them with you...

Wobbuffet has only one type, Psychic, which means he's weak to three things: Bugs, Ghosts, and Dark Pokemon...

Use Spiritomb or Another Wobbuffet to stall it out, since Wobbuffet hates fighting the Slower Spiritomb and a second Wobbuffet eliminates the Shadow Tag ability...

Below this post there will be a link to the Serebii.net DP Pokedex on Wobbuffet, so you can check on anything I might have missed.

There...

Now that I have basically dispelled the entire mystery surrounding the obnoxious weeble-wobble that is an evolved Wyanut I suggest we forever do away with this hindrance to our good time...

Wobbuffet is too easy people, let's try to use some real strategy instead of turning our opponents attacks against them? And if you really want to do that ... Milotic and Corsola are a lot more fun...

THANK YOU AND GOODNIGHT

WOBBUFFET'S FOR EVERYONE!!!
