Title: The knights of Ensis
Sacrificial Hero - November 24, 2004 03:05 PM (GMT)
From here on out, all posts in Outerworld RPGs will have a date atop them. The Outerworld date, (THe system will be broken down for you in an OOC topic soon enough) is simple enough. When we move forward a day I'd like to have you post the date and please remember. Anyway, Knights of Ensis will also incorporate a new factor that I'm throwing in. During certains times over the year, certain attributes will be improved, like during a "tract" (about 60 days long) the ruling element might be water, within that element there are other "attributes" that will be something like "Ice" and "Rain". Every couple of days, the ruling attribute within the element will change. When ice is the ruling attribute, any power, shinobi technique, or spell that uses ice, will be amplified.
PLAY ON!

"Goodbye my love, I'll return within a few weeks." Shima had packed his things and was boarding the ship that would bring he and his allies to the Kobold Kingdom. It had been less than four weeks since Kelus had taken over Ensis and he was already changing things for the better. The Kobold kingdom, a longtime rival of Ensis had agreed to meet with the new leader, and his convoy at the great hall in the capital.
The ship was leaving from the port at Kiro and would arrive in an expected three days at the port in the trading town of Harbor village, an accurate but unimaginative name. The village was famed for its enormous markets, where it was said that you could find anything that you would ever need in life. The ship they were to take was a mystery to everyone, but Kelus. To avoid pirates Kelus had registered all the details in secret and would not be using a ship with a flag from the royal fleet. Shima half expected them to be escorted by pirates, after all the enigma that Kelus had covered the arrangments in.
But Kelus was an enigma himself, a puzzle that no one could quite figure out. In battle he was something of a monster, nearly undefeatable, but at all times his honor came first. Once his sword was sheathed though, he was little more than his roots would imply. He had grown up as the son of a blacksmith, and so his fanatical love and expertise of weaponry endured, but he was humble beyond the extent that any ruler should be. He refused to have anyone call him anything but Kelus.
There the ship was, not as majestic as a ship from the royal navy, but it would do. Visiris, and Malor were at his sides and Kelus was in front of them.
"You guys ready?" Kelus called back to them nonchalantly.

::Malor smiled cheerily. He surveyed the men scurrying about the decks, helping with this or that.::
Am I ever not ready? ::The smell of the salt air was refreshing and brisk in his nostrils. Ahh, the sea.

::Zan sat nonchalantly, playing chess with another soldier. So far his deception went unnoticed. They were on their way to the Kobold kingdom. Zan, full name Zandrya, eagerly awaited a chance to cement in their minds that she was male. She posessed a stregth that rivaled most men, by means of her demon and centia blood. Most men she had met were biased and couldn't believe anyone but a man could forge. She patted the sword on her waist and waited for her opponent to move. Her beloved weapon was of her own making. The handle was girt with silver and of beautiful formation, and the blade's tip waved like a drop of water. She made another move, and continued her new life, as a man, as a warrior.::

Valance continued to survey the status of his ship. He walked with long strides, each followed by the twirl of his cane. As he swept by younger workers on the ship, he could hear the abrupt halting of their breathing. Rumors had spread about himself, leading to the point where many thought he would break a soldiers neck for not completing a job correctly. This was not true of course, but Valance had done some extreme things in his day. Chuckling under his breath, he proceeded on.
(I'll post for my other character in a moment.)

Mal'Ganis walked up to the ship, his rapier at his side and his red cloak draped over his left side. he looked to it and breathed heavily.
"So this is it.........time to show my stuff" he said as he began to aproach the ship, he threw his bag over his shoulder and walked aboard. Hed dropped his bag as he saw the deck of the ship and looked in awe. he was never so amazed in his life, crew members bustling about getting ready for departure. he smiled as he picked his bag up and wandered the ship.....he might just get used to this yet.....

How long had it been since she'd been on a ship? It must have been a long time, since the scent of sea-salt was an unfamiliar one (though it was not altogether unwelcomed). She had been to the sea a few times before, traveling with her father, but it had been so long...The wind gusted for a few short moments, knocking a few strands of dark emerald hair out of place, a mishap soon mended by obsidian black fingers. Most of her life she had lived in woods, fields, border towns, where the hustle and bustle of everyday life was muted by the earth-wrought wonders that surrounded it. But here there was nothing but sand and salt water, nothing to block out the worker's grunts and the thuds caused by the occasional good being dropped. It was so exotic to her.
Yet this showed very little on the exterior of Visiris Calaminus, leader of the red knights, under the lordship of Kelus. Her features were almost always hardened and trained, her every movement completely under control, for if it were not she could not function. She saw both where the sailers now were and where they would be in the moments to come, but what was more, she knew how to discern one from the other. A sailor tripped in her direction, but she had already avoided colliding with him. Another was carrying hooks that would snag the fabric of her crimson cloak, but she had already pulled the fabric taught so that it would not be damaged. Similarly, before Kelus spoke his friendly and casual question, she had already began to form an answer in her head. Her coal colored lips formed a half-smile, her silver-gray eyes looking out to the horizon as she spoke.
"If I am not, I am sure I will be soon."

Kajinn's dark, feathery hair blew lightly as the wind passed him. His vision stretched passed the sky he had focused on, and gazed into what seemed like nothingness. People walked by him hastily, bumping into him with innocence. It was an annoyance to catch his reflexes, he could only keep a portion of his mind on not attacking the strangers behind him for some time. He retreating to a emptier part of the ship, in hopes of some peace, with was a rare thing during the last couple of weeks.
Gaju better be right. He thought angrily, shaking his head in dismay.

::The minutes passed steadily, the same as the waves. Zan took his opponent's queen and the other man sighed in dismay. He had been relying heavily on his queen and the rest of his pieces were scattered. The game would be over in three turns, Zan predicted. He nodded his head politely as Visiris walked by. Zan stifled a little smile. If they had let a woman be leader of the red knights, perhaps there was some hope of her being accepted as a woman. But perhaps they would be angry at her deception. She glanced over her shoulder at her own commanding officer. He was a kind, fatherly gentleman. Zan had little fear that she would ever be discovered.::

Kelus descended into the bowels of the ship, accompanied, as always, by Shima. The two were nearly inseperable; Shima saw it as his personal duty to protect Kelus at all times.
"You all seem well adjusted." Kelus addressed the entire menagerie casually. There was little that could be done to break him from his calm demeanor, battle was usually the only way. The two walked by Zan's chess game, giving the knight an acknowledgment. Within a few moments they were in stride with Viris.
"The ship will be pushing off any moment, it will be at least a week before we've reached Harbor town. You don't get seasick do you Visiris?" Kelus asked this, knowing full well of Visiris' past.
