Title: Wolves and Sunbeams

Blue - October 23, 2004 08:11 PM (GMT)
well here's the OOC remark page for WAS.

Here's my first OOC...

Members of the Sun Tribe PLEASE post! Where are you guys?!?! Diane PMed me with an excuse which is why she hasn't been kciked out even though this is her 5th day not posting. ALso which is why I've been modding her. She gave me permission. But Joe, and Whales, the two of you haven't said anything to me. Post within the next to days or I'm kicking you out. I friggin mean it. I won't tolerate deserters in my rp's. Even if they're close friends of mine.

Sacrificial Hero - October 28, 2004 04:05 PM (GMT)
I can't handle all this MODing. Natalie, remember that it's up to the person RPing the character to decide whether or not something happens to them, pulling my arm behind my back to make me drop my knife is completely unbelievable seeing as Furdo is a trained hunter, he's HUGE. And then punching me in the face without asking and making it autohit and knock me on the groud, seriously where is your RPing curteosy?

Blue - October 29, 2004 12:55 AM (GMT)
Seeing as you gave me absolutly no choice whatsoever about being BITTEN and an assortment of other things, I don't think you really have the right to whine. Eye for an eye. Now that we're even don't start it again. And on another note, you've always been a little too sensitive about this sort of thing. I recall you losing your head about simple things in other rps at other people as well. Sometimes you should just go with the flow. Your character may be an excellent huge hunter as you put it, but I'm a frigging chief. I don't think Sol got to be chief by being some weakling who would allow herself to be bitten. So as I said, eye for eye. Forget about it and move on.

Ryah - October 29, 2004 02:41 AM (GMT)
Well, who modded who first? Also remember Nat, you went crazy on Topher when he modded, though he was a little ridiculous. Let's just cut out the modding as much as we can, shall we? This RP is starting off too good to squabble.

Sacrificial Hero - October 29, 2004 01:56 PM (GMT)
Exactly Natalie, an eye for an eye, you MODed first so I retaliated, so you went after me again, next time it happens I'm dropping. I'm dead serious.

Blue - October 29, 2004 09:18 PM (GMT)
Again you're being WAY too sensitive. You can't honestly think that I did it purpousfully to upset you. I'll say it once more. Let it drop. I don't want negative feelings in this rp.

Ladian - October 30, 2004 12:55 AM (GMT)
Guys, look. No matter how EXCELLENT and skilled all RPers are, a little MODing has to happen, always! It's just not possible to never mod...an RP wouldn't go anywhere without a little bit of it! In general, I think battles are the most difficult, because all you can write is "so-and-so threw a punch," not, "so-and-so punched otherguy". It takes forever.

Remember, RPing is like playing with toys except without the toys. If we really had the toys in front of us, MODing would be like your friend taking your doll (char) and putting it somewhere else. If it fits the storyline, you just go with it. Unless what the person did totally goes against your char or something you were doing, just let it slide. I don't want to see anybody fighting, I hate when you guys fight for real.

RPing is like playing with toys

if I may, Diane, RPing is also like playing with toys because it's SUPPOSED TO BE A FUN GAME, it's not a competition or a science or something, it's supposed to b fun. Lighten up Sean.

DarkDestiny - October 30, 2004 01:14 PM (GMT)
... Tom are you even in this RP? no... So please do not make things worse by antagonizing Sean.
Personally... When I was using my toys to fight with my brother's.. or if I was using one toy in particular.. I would get very upset if he took the toy from me to move it, or make it lose. To me I played with one particular toy and the rest where fine to be moved.. Just not my particular toy. That means to mod what you want but not my characters and I wont move or touch your favorite toy.....

Crossknight - October 30, 2004 02:50 PM (GMT)
I agree with Sean and Heather, Father has yet to appear in WAS so I don't know if you guys will even credit my opinion. And even if he had appeared by now, I still doubt most of you would. I don't like modding, at all. It sorta makes the game less fun for me:

But just look at the end of NDD in a battle between Natalie and Myself:

QUOTE
They exploded from his skin, and cut through into Peter. But he still kept going, shoving Peter to the ground under his power and force. Zack landed ontop of the man who was still twice his size despite the fact that Zack was no longer just a boy.

Hey...I didn't write that about Peter :( Of course I was pretty surprised when it first happened, I haven't run into much modding before. However I realized that this is the focal point of Zack's story, and rolled through with the punches, modding myself in the next post
QUOTE
Zack's first was met with Peter's palm, and his wrapped his fingers joyously around it and rolled over, tossing his son with him as he turned, his own crimson aura intensifying.

It continues from there and before I know it, I'm underground! :| However, I think it's no surprise that modding the actions in that situation made things move a lot faster and more intensily. I think while modding isn't something that should often happen, however it is sometimes a "Necessary evil" of sorts, bringing in beneficial features. In real life as well as with your "toys", you aren't always going to be in control, and it's a lot more fun to write whilst in a rut than not to, imho. However, a lot of times it upsets things people were trying to set up with their characters and whatnot. But, it happens sometimes...I know I've had countless times where incidents that I wanted to set up with my characters haven't worked out because of it, but there's nothing I can do about it. And if I really think that it is so important for the whole games course to be changed because of one players views I'd just PM the guilty party about it.

The point I'm getting at (yes, there is a point), is pretty much stop this nonsense. No one is against anyone here and stop acting like there are. I think Natalie, as the creator of the RP does have the right to mod players. However you guys should try and work out a better way for combat. But is there a medium that one can decide for all combat in an RP? Would modding be allowed? Is it a good or a bad thing? You must decide this.

Blue - October 30, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
Well here's how it works for me. And Bates you did an amazing job of making me even realize this about mysefl with your examples of our fight in NDD.

When in an rp things are calm, and not much action is happening, I think modding is a HUGE no no. It upsets me if I even see someone else putting words into another chars mouth. Even if it doesn't involve me. Which is why I can be so strict on it.

But here's the something Bates made me realize. When it comes to fast paced unpredictable events such as battles and fighting, I only enjoy battles if they are unpredictacle. As demonstrated between me and Bates. I ENJOYED when he modded me, and caught my punch into his fist. Because get this....it's a fight! Fights are unpredictable. You don't WANT to be punched in the face, but hey it happens. I didn't ask to be bitten, but it happened, and I enjoyed the surprise in it. It became soemthing my character just had to deal with. I didn't complain, and it didn't even bother me. In all honesty, I was expecting you to get up and throw some sand in my face or soemthing of that nature. That's what makes battles fun. Of course you can't do obsessive modding like "She stabbed him through the gut" because that's a fatal wound. But little things like "He sunk his teeth into her arm" are just fine by me. If no modding occurs in a battle scene, it is not only boring, but it is slow as hell. I've never had a problem with teh way I do battles before. No ones ever complained to me about it up until now. And the thing is, everyone else does it too. I won't change my ways, because it works, and it's fun.

Using Diane's toy example, it's like me knocking your toy off the table with my toy. You did not control that. You did not make it happen. But it did. And you cna do the same to me. You gotta roll with the unexpected. It makes it a little bit more real, and much more interesting. There IS a line. But I'm sure we all know where it is. No super attacks, nothing fatal, ect. It's pretty self explanitory.

There. It's all spelt out in black and white. This is the way things'll be done in my rp. Now that it's in writing, no more hassel. Ok guys? Great. Let's move on.

Blue - November 3, 2004 03:47 AM (GMT)
Ok guys that's it. I'm officially annoyed. Many people are not following my post once every three days rule. In fact, half the people who signed up arent' following it. I just sent out PM warnings to people. If those people who I'v egiven the warning to do not post for another three day period without explination, they will be kciked out of the rp. Do I make myself clear? Because I feel like you guys don't belive me when I say these things. The next person who does this will be out, and they will be an example that I MEAN what I WARN! It's not ahrd guys. either post, or tell me your too buisy, or have too much HW or are moving or whatever the reason is that you can't! It's REALLY not that hard! People do this all the time incuding myself. If you don't like the rp anymore, TELL ME so I can write you out and free you of your burden! Because doing this the wrong way only gets me very angry.

The people who are on the hot list right now are:
Whales: For obviously never posting.
Joe: For not posting.
Jess: Again, for not posting.
Sean: Although he did give me an excuse, I ahd to chase him down for it. I recieved no PM telling me he wouldn't be posting for a week or however long it was. So you're on the hot list.

People, PMs are there for a reason. USE them!!!

Crossknight - November 3, 2004 03:14 PM (GMT)

((okay just so you guys know (for those who don't), my computer is busted because of the hulk, so I won't be posting much, just have me...do stuff that he would do, or leave him in general or put this on hold for a while....k..thanks....and brian, put back the puzzle de pon sig back up...or pi will follow (And Pi as in the math term....and nobody likes that))

Joe posted that in the actual RP about a week ago.

Ryah - November 3, 2004 05:50 PM (GMT)
I'm sorry, after working last-last weekend I got so lazy and I was out all Halloween weekend. I posted. In everything.

Blue - November 3, 2004 11:45 PM (GMT)
Ah yes, that's right. I forgot about Joe. Thank you Bates for pointing that out. ::scribbles him down on the "computer broken" list which now consists of three people.::

Blue - November 7, 2004 09:15 PM (GMT)
For those who haven't read the rp yet, Whales is officially out of WAS. I've laid out rhe rules and he broke them over and over again. It's extremely insulting to me when someone doesn't post and doesn't tell me why. I even sent him out a warning, and he didn't even reply to THAT. So he's out. I think my reasons are both clear and justified. Control of his character is turned over to me.

In other news, now that Diane finally posted, we can get back underway. Chop chop! Commence the fun!!! We have a ceremony to preform for Mako and a burial and the choosing of leaders to do!

tintenfisch - November 8, 2004 05:50 PM (GMT)
what do you mean back underway......aren't people still.....I don't know...incapacitated from posting?

Ryah - November 8, 2004 09:45 PM (GMT)
I just got back from work all goddamn weekend. Sean's comp still sucks.

Blue - November 12, 2004 01:27 AM (GMT)
I know...I know...it's frustrating. But it seems at least the Suntribe can't do anything until Heather gets back. And Sean is still having trouble with his computer. So the only option I think we have is to wait for Heather to get back.
Everyone is excused from my posting rule until she returns, because no one can really do anything right now.

Note: when she does get back, I'm re-instating the rule. And also, we're all going to ahve to work around Sean since he's unable to post frequently. ::grumble:: I'm going to try and get his permission to do some very slight modding with his char, so we can at least move on and get a new leader for the Wolf Tribe...but of course he's a vital character in this situation.

But no worries until Heather gets back anyways.

Sacrificial Hero - November 12, 2004 02:46 PM (GMT)
I have two pieces of good news and one of bad.

The bad news is that my computer is still broken.

First good is that you can MOD Furdo a bit if you need to.

Second good, my birthday is next week and I've been begging my parents for a new computer. *crosses fingers* PLEEEEEEEEEEASE!

tintenfisch - November 12, 2004 11:20 PM (GMT)
so....uh..yeah.,.,.....tahnks for waiting up for me and all and continuing without me......gotta love when that happens

Blue - November 15, 2004 01:59 AM (GMT)
Joe...I wans't going to put the rp on hold for two weeks.....as much as I love you I can't do that...I've been modding you as little as possible. So just jump in when you can.
::Hugs::

And...HEATHERS BACK! EVERYONE REJOYCE BY POSTING!

And...HAPPY BDAY SEAN! GET A NEW COMPUTER SO YOU CAN JOIN US!

Ryah - November 16, 2004 05:08 PM (GMT)
I prefer to make small corrections like that in the RP itself, because if I'd put it in here, chances are it would have gone unnoticed. This topic is really only good for discussing the RP and majour issues in it. It was a simple misread and it was better to clear it up right there.

DrunknGunbunny - November 16, 2004 10:12 PM (GMT)
Wow...uh...how do I explain this. It may be in everyone's best interests for me to take a formal break from Moorim, so I'm telling you guys now that I have absolutely no problem with you mod-ing Stag (though if someone has to do it, I would prefer it to be Heather, being that I believe she knows the character best). See, I've been having this problem with depression lately, and it's really been biting me in the ass for the past two weeks or so. Add a constant four-week long migraine to that, and you've got a major mental issue. It's possible that I'll be online, but I'm in no way prepared to post. Sorry to be a pain, but it's better than if I continued to post, as I might very well ruin the rp for the rest of you.

Bye for now,
Rachel

Blue - November 17, 2004 03:13 AM (GMT)
There's no need to apologize at all. You're health should always come first. Especially when it effects the way your feeling. Take your time, and do what you need to do. I hope you start to feel better soon.

Heather, would you like control of Stag?

Ryah - November 17, 2004 05:54 PM (GMT)
I chalk it up to the damn Laramie project. That play seemed to such the life out of poor Heather-chan.

DarkDestiny - November 17, 2004 07:46 PM (GMT)
Did i mention:
QUOTE
the Laramie project has consumed my soul and spat it back out as a pulpy residue

but.. yes as long as i don't have ta make her speak much... i barely have the creative energy to make my own people speak..

tintenfisch - November 21, 2004 05:20 PM (GMT)
eh, I'm droppin this...don't ask why...you will be ignored....BOTH REAL LIFE AND BOARD LIFE

Ladian - November 21, 2004 07:48 PM (GMT)
:( Well, okay, Joe. Thanks for saying that you dropped, though.

Blue - November 22, 2004 07:56 PM (GMT)
Since Joe dropped, I'll be taking over both his cahrs along with Yvo...

Damn I have a lot of work to do now...

ALright, I'll figure it out.

DarkDestiny - November 22, 2004 10:01 PM (GMT)
uuuuh nat i think you missed something in my last post..
Mako asked for the whole tribe to gather round the fire for his gift.
Meaning he had one more gift for all of them together...

Blue - November 22, 2004 10:22 PM (GMT)
OH SHIT!

uh...

how do we fix this....

uh....

ok...ok....here's the deal. You post what you wanted to post, then What I'll do is edit mine so that it matches what you said. And then I'll copy my post, delete it, and repost it so it appears under yours.

Ok? Sound good?

SOOOOOOO SORRY! We fixy now.

Blue - January 20, 2005 01:02 AM (GMT)
Although it is only wendsday and I said I'd give till Thursday, Sean is officially out of this rpg. Why am I cutting him short a day early? I'll tell you why. I sent him and Jessica the same PM stating they had one last chance to post. Jessica has not been online, and has not posted in any other things. I will take this to mena she hasn't seen my message yet.
Sean on the other had has been online very often. He's been on the board. I KNOW he recieved my PM. He's also posted in several other things other then WAS. I made myself perfectly clear at the begining of this rp that the ONLY thing that will piss me off is if you stop posting and don't tlel me why. Sean blaitantly ignored me, and my warnings then went ahead and posted in other things without offering me explination or reason. This is an extreamly deep insult. I'm VERY mad, at this point and rightfully so.
Therefor he is outof the RP, and Heather will be tkaing over his character Furdo, since Furdo can actually become an important character for our plot line. SO let this be official. Sean is out. Jessica has one more day to respond.
