Current Location: Pallet Town/Forest Outskirts

Matt walked along side his companions in pure anxiousness. For so long he had considered catching a Pokemon of his own, but there was simply no iniative. He looked at the large group standing beside him, gleaming. Never had he heard of such a large team going on the journey together, but he had a feeling the complete form of the group would not last. Some of the members were, well, the opposite of what he was. Even so, Matt continued to grin as they approached the forest outskirts of Pallet Town.
"I say we begin to split up. If we are all in the same area we will scare away the Pokemon and never have a chance of catching one. Let's meet up at the forest exit. Good luck."
Matt departed into the shadows, his fishing rod clasped tightly in his hands.

James glanced at the fishing rod in Matt's hand, then to the butterfly net in his own. He owned it for as long as he could remember, but it wasn't precisely what you'd call regulation equipment for capturing Pokémon. It was from his youth, those carefree days of chasing Caterpie in the forest, all under the watchful eyes of his caring mother.... these eyes glanced upon his burning aspirations to leave their humble burg and search for adventure beyond the mountains, and every time shut themselves. She did not want him to spurn his childhood chasing dreams as far away from the stars; she did not want him to face failure; she did not want.... to lose her only son.

"But mother, that was seven years ago! In case you haven't noticed, I've grown since then!"
"I-I know, I just don't want to.... lose you." James could almost feel this one coming; the dreaded trump card. If a mother can't make you feel guilty, then no one can.
"I.... I...." He stammered on, "you're not going to lose me. I won't let that happen--I'll be with my friends, and I'll call from every Pokémon Center, I promise. Please, trust me."

Silence. It seemed James still hadn't redeemed himself for trying to run away as a child.

"....I...."
"Good luck in Viridian city." This was all she had to say. Jame's face lit up at these words.
"What!? Oh--oh, thank you! I--oh, my--I--I--" James was at a loss for expressing his emotions, so he chose other means. He never hugged his mother harder than that day.

Without a word to the group, he waded into the dense grasses before him, lost within his own thoughts.

It was time.. time to start her journey. She was filled with nervous excitements. a sort of cold dred in the bottom of her throat. Clutched protectively in her hands was a folded large blanket. Although she had gotten some strange looks for it.. She knew what she was doing. She had set her goal.. To catch her first pokemon ever. She would do it too.
To be traveling with so many.. Well, her Mom had been happy about it. She sorta wanted to go it alone in truth. To see the world and catch a team of pokemon that she would raise to be unbeatable. To pokemon that could take her anywhere. To do it with no help from anyone. So when Matt suggested they split up she jumped on the chance. "Kay. Catch you all later!" She hurried off into the field of grasses that surrounded the edge of the forest

Matthew walked just behind his friends, with his right hand in his pocket fumbling with something and his left on the strap of his backpack. He had finally done it... They had finally done it... After years of working and waiting they're starting thier very own Pokemon journey.

Matt suggested that the group split up a bit... He thought James had totally zoned out and Jwar's allready ran off so I--

Matthew noticed rustling inside some tall grass, it must be a pokemon. He ran in taking a small sphere out of his pocket. Pushing a button it grew larger and he tossed it into the squabble.

"POKEBALL GO!" He shouted as the ball flew from his hand over to the monster.
A spearow flew out from where the ball was headed and darted into the woods.
"Huh--" Light erupted from the spot and the ball clicked like it was capturing a pokemon...

Matthew ran up and saw that there was a monster inside of the ball now, that monster was his...

"G-- Guys! GUYS! I caught it! I-- I caught one!" He stammered, picking up and inspecting the Pokeball in total disbelief.

"But... What is it..." He threw the ball to the ground and in a flash of light out popped an injured rodent.. "Ee... Vee..."
Matthew scooped up the poor creature and ran in the direction of Viridian City as fast as he could.

"I've gotta get to the Pokemon Center!"

Matt scurried into the shrubs beyond him. He was deep into the heart of the forest now, but it had not been the location he yearned for. Caterpies and Pidgeys crawled through the shadowy treetops, but they did not intrest Matt the slightest.
Finally, a soft sound struck his eardrums gently. Trickling water could be heard not far from him.
"Yes!" He loudly whispered to himself, as he rose his rod upward and burst through the entangled vines in front of him.
He found himself in an opening, and before him was a clear pond. A miniscule waterfall had been placed to the left of him, poaring crystal-like water into the gathering.
He quickley tossed in the hook, and waited impatiently. It did not take long for him to feel a slight tug on the end of it, and Matt thrusted his arms upwards, tossing an innocent Poliwag high into the air. It landed with a heavy thump, and whimpered as it struggled to it's feet with the help of it's feather-like tail.
"Hope this, works!" He threw the red and white sphere at the just recovering Poliwag. It bounced off it's head and opened, pulling the weak Pokemon's body into the ball.
It shook several times, but the light dimmed and Matt's happiness brightened.
"GOT IT!" He hollered, grabbing the Pokeball and staring at it in awe.
It had taken him some time to recover from his excitement, but he connected the Pokeball to his belt and ventured towards the forest's exit.

Nicky ran ahead of the groud humming a tune and looking around for a pokemon to catch. She had always wanted to become a tranier but, her parents never allowed her. Today was different though today was the day she would finally be able to go out into the world and be a pokemon tranier. She giggled with glee at the thought of what her first pokemon would be. Just then she saw something in the grass. She headed toward the creature with anticipation of what it might be. She knelt behind a bush and looked at it. It was a pidgy. The most cutest pidgy she's ever saw. She got up quietly and was careful not to scare it.

"Poke Ball.. GO!" she yelled as she twirled in a cirlce realseing the ball.

She waited for a moment to see if she caught the pokemon. She smiled widely as was successful in catching pidgey.

"YES!! FINALLY!!" She picked up the pokemon and danced in a circle. She started at the pokeball in complete awe.

"Wow my first pokemon, I can't wait to tell everyone. Thier gona be so surprized at me." She giggled again to herself. Then heading back to find everyone else.

She slowed her pace to a walk. Slowly from her messenger bag she removed a single pokeball. She crouched low in the tall grass and listened. Then she heard it. "Pidgey.. Pidgey!" Her first ever pokemon. The bird that would one day carry her far away. She lunged forward with a battle cry, throwing up her blanket to cut off it's escape. The shocked Pidgey which had been minding it's own business was startled by her cry and it tried to take off... only to be caught in her blanket! quickly Jwar tackled the struggling pokemon gathering the ends of the blanked to cut off it's escape. "ow!" she yelped as the Pidgey with its sharp beak pecked her through the blanket. She dropped the whole bundle with surprise. She had managed to keep hold of her poke ball however.. and just as it untangled itself from the blanket she threw the ball at the pokemon...
ding...
ding...
ding
Ding!
Jwar fell to her knees breathing heavy with relief and exertion.
"I.. ha.. I... I Caught my First pokemon!" She shouted with joy and scrambled to gather up her prize. "come on out... Pidge!" Jwar called out her pokemons new name and released her. She too was panting looking a little confused. Jwar scooped her up and clipped her pokeball to her belt holder. "Were going to be great friends" she said squeezing pidge tight... which got her a few sharp pecks on the head. "oops. maybe i'm coming on a little too strong!" She said embarrassment and released pidge from her death grip. "why don't you just ride on my shoulder for a bit Huh?" Pidge's response was only to say. "pidgey!" with indignation. Jwar thought for a moment.. then pulled out something from her bag.. "I'll give you this hunny coated nut candy?" Suddenly pidge was on her shoulder rubbing against her head. Jwar gave her the treat to nibble and said: "See! We will get along just fine!" Then she gathered up her blanket and started walking toward the entrance to the forest so she could get to the exit to meet up with the others.

Matt stumbled through the waist-tall grass patches, and finally found himself at the door to the exit building. He could go in and mingle with the visitors passing by, just as he was, but he wasn't one for any kind of social events.
He scanned the forest around him, but there were no Pokemon to be seen. Even so, he was only focusing on water types..
His vision locked upon a small tree to the site of him. It looked somewhat old, and short of sunlight. Though as he approached it, he noticed a small pinkish item dangling off the edge of a branch.
"Neat." He mumbled, picking it up and placing it in a small box. He put the box inside of his backpack and sat down, waiting for his companions.

Carefully, James waded through the dense grasses before him, searching for any signs of life; finally, clearing away some brush with his net revealed a Pidgey, indulged at the moment with preening itself. "Prrrrr-gy." Silently raising his net, James swung it down upon the small creature, startling it and calling about a hostile reply. It thrashed wildly within the netting that confined it, flapping and fluttering all thw while. It seemed to have alot of fight within it, for it managed to lift itself (along with the net) clear off the ground and slid out from undeneath. As it began to fly away, it was evident James only had once chance. He tumbled the only Pokéball he had in his hands; no second chances.

"Pokéball, go!" The ball hurdled towards the Pidgey, impacting and engulfing him in a red light that was swiftly drawn into the orb. Uselessly, it clattered to the ground, fumbling about in the grass. this occured for several seconds, until the ball ceased moving entirely.

He had done it! His first Pokémon! Now to take it to the nearest Pokémon center, located in Viridian City. Besides which, he would need to stock up on supplies, and most of the others had already started on their way there.

jay was all set....he had his rubber gloves on, and wouldnt give up until he caught a pikachu.

"ok.......now where are you" he said as he remembered a group of pikachu being run out of town a few days ago. then....a rustling in the bush....could it be? Jason knew there was only one way to find out......HE JUMPED INTO THE BUSH AND A HUGE FLAME WENT THROUGHOUT THE AREA. he was down.....but the cyndaquil....which wasn't exactly what he wanted but good anyways....was drained of its energy. jay got up and looked at the tuckered out cyndaquil. "aawww....your so cute.....i think i'll take you" he said as he took out a pokeball and retrieved cyndaquil in the ball. he didnt want to leave it alone since it was all tuckered out, and knew one day that he would get a trusty Typhlosion. now it was off to viridian city to heal it and get some supplies and meet up with the others.

((Update: [It's in the topic 'cause I need everyone to see it.] The decision has been made that if we are in Kanto we will catch Kanto pokemon. If we are in Hoenn we will catch Pokemon native to Hoenn. So, I had approved Jay before the agreement was made, so Jay may keep his Cyndaquil. Though, from now on follow the rule. We are in Kanto, we catch the 150.))

She skipped along the path looking for one of her friends.

"hmm..i wonder where everyone is?"

She walked toward this thing that looked like a blob. Even though she had glasses her long distance vision was pretty bad. She kept smileing and contiuned to follow the blob in the distance. She sung a little song to herself giggleing between words. She came apon a girl who was fishing near a pond. Nicky walked up to her wanting to battle for the first time.

"Hey! wanna battle?!"

"Sure..but don't be sad if i win." The girl looked coldy at nicky.

"Hmph..I think i should be saying the same for you.!" she laughed a bit. "Enough with the small talk lets battle.!"

''Ok!!"

The Battle had started and nicky twirled and released the ball.

"I choose you! PIDGEY!!" She smiled as pidgey came from the pokeball.

The girl had a rattata with her and it seemed to be weaker than her pidgey.

"Pidgy! Use gust attack." She watched as pidgey attacked the weak rattata with ease.

Rattata got knocked out from the first attack as pidgey flew around landing on nicky's shoulder.

"YAY WE WON!!! Great job Pidgey" She smiled happliy petting pidgey on the head.

"PIIDEEYY!!"

"Nooo!!" The girl cried return rattata back to the pokeball. "I guess you won good job." she smiled and started to heading off. " I be waiting to battle again."


"Ok..i'll look forward to that."

She smiled to herself winning her first battle. she petted her pidgey again and gave him a picece of fruit from the tree near by. She then took an apple for herself and bit into it. Walking down the road again with pidgey on her shoulder.

"ah crap i was sopposed to follow that blob thing i saw. oh well i quess i'll catch up with everyone in verdian city."

Jay kept walking and walking when he heard a chirping sound. he looked through some grass and saw a pidgey.

"YES!!! THIS IS MY LUCKY DAY!!!" jay screamed as he reached next to him and grabbed a rock by mistake. he stepped back out of view from the pidgey and tossed the rock."POKE.....ER......GO ROCK!!!!!" he yelled as the rock hit something. the pidey flew away.....which made him wonder.....if he didnt hit the pidgey....what did he hit......

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ

"oh shnickeys........" jay said as he began backwing away......then jogging away, leading to sprinting.....then full fledged running. before he knew it a sworm of beedrill was after him. "OH MAN WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS....wait....stupid question and the list is too long to go through" he said as he kept running. he was half way to viridian city by now and stopped running, he was sweating and out of breath....badly. "Ok.........if i cant run......i'll fight.....cyndaquil i know its too soon but you gotta help me out here. NOW SHOW ME YOUR MOVES CYNDAQUIL!!!!!!!" jay yelled as he chucked his pokeball in the air and released cyndaquil. jay opened his pokedex and looked at the list of attacks. "uh.....ok.....maybe we can not hurt them, CYNDAQUIL SMOKESCREEN!!!" jay screamed as cyndaquils flame ignited and shot out a cloud of smoke at the beedrill and was then recalled to his pokeball. jay then slipped away and kept going to viridian city. "just like i thought.....no troubles" he said as he began whistling a song he heard on the radio.

Matt could hear hollers in the distance. He quickley leapt to his feet and followed the sounds. As he wondered deeper into the shrubbery, he sat small patches of smoke mist float by him.
In front of him was Jason, the first companion he had now seen since they split up. He waved his hands wildly, as he approached him.
"Jay, the Viridian City entrance is just up ahead, but I've been waiting there for awhile. We should go find the others first, getting too split up will be one heck of a mistake."
Matt didn't wait for Jay's answer, he hurried off beyond him.

"hey wait up matt!" jay said in a laugh. he ran after matta nd released his cyndaquil to run with him. he reached the entrance to viridian city and smiled to cyndaquil. "we made it buddy, theres nothing holding us back now!" jay said as he began to walk with cyndaquil as he caught up with matt. hey matt, what pokemon did you catch? i caught something rare in kanto....I CAUGHT A CYNDAQUIL!!!"

"Cynda, Cyndaquil!!!!!" cyndaquil let out as it danced happily.

"I got a Poliwag, but I don't doubt it's still dazed from being hit on it's head.."
Matt grinned, and cut himself off.
"Anyway, I'm sick of waiting. We should remain here a bit longer.." He frowned, looking at the ground for a moment.
"Fifteen more minutes. Then we head to Viridian's Pokemon Center."

"A plant...nice. I got a mess of vines in a pair of hightops." Sean muttered as she came up behind Jay. "Yo! Jay! Check it out!" He lifted the red and white ball in his right hand, showing it to Jay. "Tangela." He passed him by, looking to get to the end of the forest as fast as possible. His injured Tangela would fair horribly against all these insects at full strength. "I should've brought at least ONE potion."

"Oh, thank God!" Matt exclaimed, grinning at Sean.
"Now we need, just..several THOUSAND more people to show up." He grimaced and looked at the ground again, feeling frustrated.
Matt grabbed his Pokeball and stared at it. If he didn't let his Poliwag out, he would never become true partners with it.

It wasn't the time. Not now.

Jwar was making good time on her path through the forest, pidge riding easily on her shoulder. "I can't wait to show you to all of my companions. I wonder what pokemon they caught? I can't help but feel this journey.. will be wonderful" So caught up in her daydreams was jwar that she failed to notice the tail sticking out of the bush.
*crunch*
"PIKAAAA! PI!"
"AAAAIII!" "PIDGEEEY!!"
Both Jwar and pidgey experience the "Joy" of being shocked for the first time.
"Pikachu...Pika!" growled the angry rodent.
"Uh.. I.. Pidge go!" Said Jwar getting to her feet. "Pidge?" Pidge let out a weak coo and didn't move from it's position on the ground. "Oh no! Pidge! ... return!" Jwar said using her poke ball to call pidge back.
The pikachu growled again sparks from it's cheeks flying. It was going to shock her again. She had to do something but pidge was out.. Fumbling she reached in her bag and threw the first simi hard object she found. "poke ball.. !" She had thrown her chocolate bar instead. "NOO not my chocolate!" The pikachu grabbed her still unwrapped chocolate bar and ran into the bush. Jwar scrambled after "GIVE THAT BACK YOU... YOU CHOCOLATE STEALING RODENT!" The chase continued for sever minutes and just as the pikachu was about to scramble into a patch of bramble Jwar lunged and grabbed it by the tail.
"PIKACHU!" Jwar felt once again the joy's of electricity. However her grip on pikachus still tender tail did not loosen. Both the pokemon and the trainer were panting from the running and their hurts. Pikachu tensed to shock her again and Jwar reached into her bag and threw the first round object she touched. "Poke'ball go!"

DING!
"I.. I'll call you.. Shocker." Jwar said still flat on the ground. She got to her feet slowly and picked up her chocolate bar... with two teeth marks in the end.. "oh.. well I guess I'll give that part to shocker.. but not now.. now it's time to drag my self to a poke'center." She muttered and began to limp in the direction she belived the path to be.

Jeff had been one of the last to show up when everyone was meeting. Being long time friends with some of the members of the party he was happy to see everyone. After the separation Jeff went off on his own...

As Jeff was walking he kicked rocks along the way. Being on a Pokemon journey was pretty much the dream of every child in Pallet Town. As Jeff walked, he had a Pokeball in his hand. He enlarged it and then decreased its size over and over again as he walked. Pretty much just trying to kill time. As He was walking Jeff noticed something far in the distance. It was among some plants and looked as though it had pretty decent camouflage. As he ran towards it, the creature looked up, it made a scratchy sound, "Bulba?" It looked curisoly at Jeff. Jeff froze. He slowly reached his hand around into his back pocket and grabbed some pieces of cookie his mother had given him before leaving. Jeff broke the cookie into pieces each leading closer to him. Bulbasaur ate each piece and came closer to Jeff each time. Finally it looked up at him. Jeff took the ball in his hand and threw it at Bulbasaur. "POKEBALL GO!" Jeff yelled. The Ball absorbed the pokemon converting its molecules into a data stream, storing it inside the Pokeball. The ball landed in the grass with a thud and wiggled. The ball shifted from side to side. Eventually it stopped and the light faded. "Yes, I CAUGHT BULBASAUR!" Jeff yelled with joy. "I better get going and catch up with everyone."

Jeff started running towards the group that had gathered on the outskirts of the forest.

Finally Jwar found her way to the end of the forest where it looked like her group had started to regather. She straightened her red bandanna brushed off her muddied trench coat... and realized she had lost her blanket. "aaw man." She sighed. "that bites." She walked up to the others and said.
"Hey guys how was your luck? Mine was great!"

Cyndaquil jumped on jays shoulder and shivered in the cold night air as it got dark.

"hey jwar, what did you catch? i got a cyndaquil ^____________________^"<~~~~ yes thats supposed to be there


cyndaquil yawned as he began to fall asleep. Jason took cyndaquil in his arms and yawned.

"hey guys.......lets get some sleep, the others should be here soon.........and jeffs probably doing it up jeff style in the forest." he said sarcasticly. "ok guys, lets go to the pokemon center and wait for them so those who want sleep can do so" he suggested

Nicky had finally made it to verdian city.

"Gosh i hate walking. I need a bike or roller blades."

Just then she looked left and saw jay. "JJJJAAAYYY!! HHHHIIIIII!!!!!!" she screamed running over to him with glee." I caught a pidgey and it's soo cute."

She giggled to herself and danced in a circle. Nicky heard a soft cry from the near by bushes.

"Huh..? whats that?..jay i'll be back in minute." She followed the noise and came across a sick little baby charmander. "Awwwww..poor thing." Nicky picked him up and went back over to jay.

"Jay..look it's sick. We have to take it the pokemon center." She grabed his hand draging him along with her.

((..We aren't in Viridian. Don't you guys remember that at the end of most forests in Pkmn there is a building that connects to a town/path to a town? Well we are right at the doors of that building now. So we are only a few steps from Viridian, just not in it yet.))

Matt nodded his head, somewhat seriously.
"Jay is right. I, Sean, Nicole, Jwar and Jay should all head to the exit now. It's right over there." He pointed, gesturing the group to begin walking. As he and the rest ventured out of the now dark forest, he began to go over who was missing in his head.
"..Matthew..Joe..and..Jeff." He paused, wondering if anything had happened to them. He doubted it.
"Ok guys, we're missing three people, so make sure to stick together from here on out. Our Pokemon need rest, so let us get to the Pokemon Center quickley."
Matt broke into a run and opened the doors to the exit.
"Right through this building, is Viridian City!"

Location: Entering Viridian City

Sean threw on his denim jacket. It was getting a bit chilly and he didn't want to catch a cold on his first night of adventuring. He walked through the door of the building as was immediatly accosted.

"HEY PUNK!" A guy sitting smugly in one corner of the building yelled out, looking directly at Sean. "THat pokeball on your belt, give it to me now." Sean stared at him in stunned silence. "What're you a mute or something?" He got up and walked over to the group, standing right in front of Sean he threw his arms out and pushed the youg trainer.

"You are kidding aren't you?" SEan said as he took one step back from the shove and then immediately one step forward into the guy's face. "Why don't we turn this around and you give me one of yours!" Sean pushed the man, sending him three steps back. His eyes went wide.

"ARE YOU INSANE!?! I'm Diamond Phoenix!"

"Oh gee, how could I have been so ignorant. Can you ever forgive me? No? THan to the guillotine I suppose." Sean said sarcastically.

"Well then I'll just have to teach you some respect! GO VENONAT!" He tossed a pokeball at the floor and a furry bug from within popped out. Sean quickly whipped out his pokedex and studied it.

"Lives in the shadows of tall trees where it eats insects. It is attracted by light at night." THe robotic, monotone voice spoke.

"Bug and poison huh? HEY DIAMOND! HOW ABOUT A LITTLE WAGER! THe winner takes the loser's pokemon as their own." Diamond's eyes widened again.

"I"ll have to see yours first!" As he spoke SEan's pokeball hit the floor and the Tangela popped out. "Fine! Winner take all! VENONAT! TACKLE!" The three foot tall bug began running at the Tangela Sean had just thrown on the line.

"TANGELA! CONSTRICT!" THe vines of the messy creature shot out and wrapped around Venonat, making it impossible for him to move. Once he was released he'd be much slower. "QUICK! BEFORE YOU LET GO! SWITCH IT TO BIND!" THe vines tightened and Venonat cried out in pain.

"VENONAT! USE YOUR BIDE ATTACK!" THe Venonat froze and tightened it's muscles, absorbing all the attacks Tangela dished out.

"BIDE! HOW DOES HE KNOW THAT?!?!"

"It's called a TM punk! Now Venonat, unleash your bide assault!" THe vines of Tangela had just released Venonat, who was prepared to collapse, but before it could it had one last attack in it. Lurching it's body forward it sprang at Tangela. The mess of vines was shocked but fell to it's back, kicking the insect as it flew over his head. The venonat sprawled across the floor and passed out.

"THrow me the pokeball. He's mine now." THe deal was done. Diamond Gave Sean the Venonat. And he left the building, in search of the pokemon center.

Nicky walked into the pokemon center draging jay along with her. She went up to the front desk ringing the little bell over and over agin.

"Excuse me, this pokemon is very ill!!" she screamed loudly makeing eveyone in the center turn their heads. Nicky waited a few minutes then shouted again. "Some one help this pokemon!!" Now getting a bit angry she mumbled curses under her breath.

"How long does it take for someone to get over here.."

A moment later a young women with pink hair came in. "Oh sowwie for the wait, clafairy and I were attending to a beaten up rattata."

"Oh..i see..heh. Well i found this little charmander in the forest. It was was sick so i wanted to help it."

The woman smiled. "Thats good. My name is nurse joy. I am the nurse of this pokemon center and i'd be happy to help your charmander."

"I'm nicky."

Nurse joy started walking and noded at nicky asking her to follow her. Nicky then looked back at jay."i'll be right back again." She followed nurse joy through the 2 doors and went into the room where all the sick pokemon would rest. Nicky placed charmander on the little bed and looked at him.

"Ok..now i'm going to give him a shot that'll make him feel all better than he'll just rest for a while."

"Right." Nicky smiled and walked out going back into the lounge where everyone else was. she sat down on the chair and took an apple out and wrote in her diary.

Matt passed by Sean, who had just received a new Pokemon. He grinned, and continued to explore the town. Jay and Nikkie had went into the Pokemon center, probably to heal the injured one they had found before they left the forest..
He enlarged his Pokeball and threw it to the ground.
"Come on out, Poliwag."
The ball opened and shot out Poliwag, then bounced back up into Matt's grasp.
Before he could converse with Poliwag, an older boy came up to him.
"Hey kid, nice Pokemon." The boy was wearing a loose sleeveless shirt, and rolled up jeans. He looked damp, as though he had been swimming for awhile. The faint wrinkles on his skin proved it.
"Thanks, do you have any?" Matt asked kindly.
"Yup, I'm one for the water types." The boy threw out two Pokeballs into the lake beside them. A Goldeen and a Psyduck popped out.
"Cool, me too!" Matt smiled at his Poliwag, who looked a bit confused.
"A bunch of guys are hosting water races down the bank, you wanna race me? The prizes are pretty cool."
"Prizes? I'm in! Show me the way."
The kid took Matt farther down the path of the pond, and Poliwag followed along, looking pretty excited.

Matthew was racing through the forest, apparently lost.

Damn, I should know these woods by now... here we go back on tra--

He stumbled over one of the rock ledges that carve up the path from Pallet to Viridian, sending Eevee sprawling.

"Whoa hey there! Take this! said a man who was passing through the area and tossed Matthew a potion It'll help out your monster over there, you can get more in the Viridian Poke Mart. Whoa! Watch out for that thing!"

"Thank you! Matthew replied as he was administering the potion Okay let's start this thing off with a Sand-Attack!" He commanded sending Eevee after the blue spiked worm that was chasing them.

Matthew flipped out his pokedex with the first volley of dust. Causing the bug to dive past Eevee in a blind fury.
Weedle, Poision/Bug Type pokemon. Its stinger excretes a mild toxin that can disorient your pokemon
"Then we better not let him hit us! Keep up the Sand-Attack barrage!"

Eevee dashed for the Weedle sending waves of dirt at him while dodging out of the way of the constant attacks that the insect was attempting. This is totally chaotic... Matthew thought, watching his first pokemon battle in amazement. "Yeah! That's what i'll call you! Chaos Tackle NOW!" Commanded the trainer as he tossed a pokeball at the defeated bug.
"Pokeball GO!" The ball hit the worm as it tried to recover and shook violently beeping three times until it finally settled. Matthew picked up the ball as Chaos walked over to him. Matthew glanced over to the trees for a second, thinking he saw something but quickly turned back to his partner. "We did it pal, the first of many battles. Come on let's head over to Viridian to meet up with the others."
They walked along through the raminder of the path and headed into the great Viridian City. Matt had said for them to meet up in the Pokemon Center so he continued along that way. Matthew glanced over his shoulder a number of times... They were definatly being followed. As they reached the door to the Pokemon Center a man grabbed Matthew by the shoulder.
"Excuse me sir but I couldn't help but noticing your battle from earlier. He greeted Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ronald, apprentice Breeder from the Johto Region. I was tracking the monster you captured for several hours and I must say that was quite the spectacular victory--
"Uhh.. thank you..."
"Wait a moment please! I must explain that is a very special Weedle you captured. It was colored differently than normal Weedle and that can provide for some spectacular powers. I come to you with a proposition. You see my family owns a large pokemon ranch on Johto where we breed and train pokemon. If you would trade me that monster for one of my purebred pokemon babies then I would be able to raise it into a powerfull Beedrill and breed it to raise more of these spectacular Weedles. If you'd agree to this i'll be sure to return to you with one of the eggs as a final payment."
"Sounds.. Interesting... What monsters do you have?"
"I have a Pichu that is remarkably fast even for a Pichu. His name is Bolt and I--"
"A Pichu? That evolves into Pikachu right?"
"Yes, yes it does."
Matthew's eyes lit up "Allright then what are we waiting for! Where do we..."
"This way! Follow me to the second floor!"

Matthew followed the man upstairs, Chaos tagging along. He placed his pokeball into the machine and it switched the monster with Ronald's Pichu. He thanked the stranger as they exchanged Trainer ID Numbers so they could contact each other. They shook hands at the exit to the Pokemon Center and went thier seperate ways. Matthew looked around to find some of his friends and he saw Matt running with another trainer down to the water. He chased after them.
"Allright Chaos, this is it! Our Pokemon adventure is under way!"
"VEE!"

Matt had arrived at the other side of the lake quite quickley, following the boy he had met who's name ended up to be Travis.
"Travis, are these the kids?" He asked, somewhat nervously.
"Yeah, the next match is starting. I think it's the open one, ours. Let's go!"
Matt spotted Travis as he began to feed his Goldeen some Pokefood. He took the chance to kneel down next to Poliwag.
"Hey Poliwag, are you up to this?"
With anxiousness in it's voice, it happily exclaimed, "Poli!"

A younger boy held a flag above his head, and with a loud "GO!" the race had begun.
Poliwag flapped his tail wildly, keeping up with the quick Goldeen. Matt could tell the Goldeen was a gracious amount more experienced, but he made sure not to lose hope.
"Poliwag! Go!" He hollered, beaming.
The voice of Travis boomed next to him, but what he heard made his stomach drop.
"Goldeen, Horn Attack!"
His Goldeen veered sideways, and roughly knocked into Poliwag's side with it's sharp horn. Poliwag screeched, and slowed down.
"What the heck was that! Isn't that cheating!" Matt yelled, at the smiling Travis.
With a snicker, Travis replied, "Not in this match, newbie."
"You've just made a big mistake." He growled.
"Horn Attack!"
"Poliwag, evade it!" His Poliwag swerved around the attack, continuing to catch up behind Goldeen, who was now approaching the finish line.
"Goldeen, go for it!"
Matt clenched his fists, he hoped Poliwag knew what he would tell him.
"Poliwag! Get under Goldeen!"
His Poliwag dove under, his shadow appearing below Goldeen's belly.
"What are you doing!" Travis began to look nervous.
"HYPNOSIS!" Matt roared, and watched in fright as everyone fell into silence.
Travis's Goldeen began to dip down under the water, bobbing in and out like it was..dozing off!
The Goldeen was still swimming though, flying towards the goal on only momentum.
Matt couldn't see Poliwag, he began to fear the fact that Poliwag may have been hurt under the..-
The small body of his Poliwag burst out from the water, and tossed itself over the finish line!
Travis moaned, and Matt cheered until his throat gave out.

"You deserve it. I've never seen a strategy like that before. I sure hope we'll see each other again, newbie."
Matt replyed with a devlish grin. He returned his exhausted Poliwag into it's ball, and took hold of the prize box Travis had handed to him.
Matt opened the box and found a lure ball inside of it. He enlarged it and threw it to the ground.
A Krabby popped out, foaming from it's mouth like the species usually did.
"Wow, thanks guys. It's been fun!"
Matt retrieved his new Pokemon and made it back to the Pokemon center.

Jay sat in a chair in the pokemon center with cyndaquil on his lap.

"hey cyndaquil.....wanna go for a walk?" jay asked cyndaquil. cyndaquil gave an ok nod with a little squeek and jumped down off of jays lap. Jay walked out of the pokemon center with cyndaquil and looked up at the sky. "its beautiful isnt it cyndaquil?" jay asked cyndaquil. Cyndaquil then tilted its head in confusion and looked up. "the clouds, they're gorgeous today." he said toi cyndaquil as they began to walk around town. as they walked they saw a kid sitting all depressed. "hey kid.....are you ok?"

"yeah.....my moms just making me get rid of my spearow"the kid said with a sigh

"why's that?" jay asked as he sat next to the boy.

"well....we're moving to an apartment complex in johto, and the apartment is only big enough for me and my mom" the boy said.

"ah....i see....well, maybe i can talk to your mom for you ok? i'm jay by the way and this is cyndaquil" jay said happily as cyndaquil jumped for joy.

"REally!!! thanks jay!!! i'm joshua, lets go to my house now and talk to my mom!!!" joshua said excitedly and ran with jay to his house. a few minutes later they arrived at joshuas house. to be on the safe side jay recalled cyndaquil to its pokeball. "MOM I'M HOME!!!! AND I HAVE A NEW FRIEND WITH ME!!!" josh yelled.

"Joshua, will you quiet down......now who is this?" josh's mom said in a sweet tone.

"sorry mom, this is jay, he's a pokemon trainer" josh said.

"its nice to meet you mam, i hear your getting rid of a spearow?" jay said.

" unfortunatly yes....we love spearow so much but we can no longer afford to keep him and we are moving to johto" the mother said.

"well mam.....i may have a solution." jay said. "i can take spearow off your hands and when i'm in the johto area i could bring him by for a visit" jay suggested.

"oh what a marvelous idea!" josh's mother said. "josh did you hear that?" she asked her son.

"i sure did mom, now we dont have to worry about spearow cause we know he'll be in good hands" josh said happily. "come on jay, i'll show you spearow." josh said as he grabbed jays hand and pulled him to his room. when they entered the room they saw a spearow sitting on a pirch. when it saw josh it fluttered right over to him and perched itself on josh's shoulder. "spearow, this is jay, your going to be living with him from now on ok....we cant take you with us to johto" josh said in a sad like tone. "i want you to be on your best behavior ok"josh requested of spearow. with that spearow looked to jay and jumped shoulders and let out a happy squark. jay stayed for some cookies and milk after and then left. josh raced onto his front porch. "GOOD BYE JAY, GOODBYE SPEAROW, I'LL MISS YOU!!!!" he screamed as jay spearow and cyndaquil went back to the pokemon center.

And... suddenly she was alone. Sighing she began dragging herself out of the building. Once out of the forest it was much brighter. She raised a hand to her eyes suddenly feeling very dirty from all her battling. She had done more of it then her two pokemon after all.
A little bit off from the path she spotted a pond with a few rocks above water level.. Not a very deep pond.. the sort that would form for a while in the rainy season then disappear. It looked like it was beginning to do so. She wobbled over to it then leaned down... Only to get watergunned in the face.
"WAI!" she cried suddenly soaked. "what the!" "squirtle squir!" laughed a squirtle from it's position on one of the rocks. She had been so intent on getting some water to clean her face.. and now had gotten a bath instead!
"Why you! I know what will wipe that grin off your face! Shocker go!" She said throwing shockers ball.
"Pika!" cried shocker... then zapped Jwar.
"augh.. look i'll give you a piece of my chocolate if you will just battle that squirtle over there for me.. please?" said Jwar who was once again charred and in more pain from the waters added punch. shocker seemed to consider it then nodded leaping on to the nearest rock.
"pika!"
"Squirtle squir!" growled the squirtle in challenge.
"Shocker Thunder bolt!" Jwar yelled
"PIKACHU!" but the squirtle was to fast and avoided the attack with a tackle knocking both pikachu and it into the water. "now's our chance shocker thunder bolt!"
"PIKA.. CHUUUUU!"
"Poke' Ball GO!"
ding...
ding....
ding.......
DING!
"I caught squirtle! I'll call you.. Claw" Shocker quickly made it's way back to shore panting. "Oh.. Good job Shocker! you must still be tired from before. Well, I promised so here you go." She said taking out the bar and giving the bitten part to shocker. "You can ride on my shoulder until we get to the pokeceneter k?"
"pika!" said Shocker climbing up on jwar shoulder for a easier place to enjoy his treat.
finally looking as if she had been mugged Jwar stumbled through the poke' center's doors.
"N-nurse joy?" She whimpered weakly then half collapsed leaning on the front desk.
"Pika?" chimed in shocker who had enjoyed his leisurely ride.

Nicky waited with antipation walking around. She had resleased pidgey from the pokeball and he was now sitting on her shoulder.

"Piiidgeey!!" he screamed with excitment.

"Lets go to the pokemart to pass some time. PLus i think i'm going to need some things." She put her backpack on and walked out heading to the pokemart which was only a few blocks away. "it's a nice day, Right pidgey." she smiled brighty.

"PPPIIDGEEYY!!" Nicky giggled for a moment then walked into the pokemart.

"Hmm..lets see i'll need some potiens, food supplies, hmm this flashlight will come in handy. Ooo look POCKY!!!" She screamed with excitement. "Oh i'm going to need water and stuff." Nicky bought all the supples and went to pay for everything.

"That'll be 30.00 dollars please."

"ahyiie...thier goes my 40 bucks..I'm gona need a way to get more money." She paid for everything and put it in her bag walking back to the pokemon center.

Nurse Joy was sitting at the front desk and as soon as nicky walked in she called for her to come over to her. "Nurse Joy..Is charmander ok now?"

"Yes he is..hold on i'll get him." She walked through the doors and into the room picking up charmander and bringing him over to nicky.
"He made a fast recovery" She smiled handing charmander to her.

"Thats great!" She shouted. Takeing charmander in her arms. She looked at charmander smileing at her.

"Chaaamanderr!!" He smiled widely.

"Well i guess i got a new pokemon now. Hear that pidgey you got a new best friend." she giggled a bit to herself then went over to sit back down again.

Arriving at the Pokemon Center, Matt spotted Nikkie speaking to her Charmander. He didn't want to interupt, besides, he had his own scheduale to tend to.
"Nurse Joy, I need these two Pokemon healed please."
The woman softly clasped the two PokeBalls and put them into a tray behind her.
"Thank you. Please come back in ten minutes or so."
Matt grinned kindly and turned around, making his way towards the exit. He had just approached the door handle when he overheard two raspy voices beside him.
"We're meeting up in Viridian Forest, right?"
"Yeah, the Boss said we should stick around there, for people passing by. Maybe we'll get lucky."
Matt quickley bolted out from the doorway as he heard the two men finishing their conversation. It made the pit of his stomach feel uneasy, but he tried to think nothing of it..

Jay looked to matt and smirked as he walked over to him.

"matt.....are you ok, you look like you just saw a ghost" jay asked matt. cyndaquil nudged matt to see if he was ok, though they all knew it wouldnt do anything.

Cyndaquil...... it said worried because of the expression on matts face.

"is something the matter?" jay asked now a tad bit worried.

Nicky thought to herself. "I think i'll go venture into viridian forest..who knows i might find some cute pokemon. She got up out of her seat. and walked out and the pokemon center and headed into viridian forest. She walked around for about a hour seeing nothing special. Just then her eyes gazed apon a beautiful butterfree.

"Hmm..lets see how strong you are chamander. Charmander sneek up to that pokemon and attack it with ember!" Chamander walked slowly to butterfree and attacked it before it ran away. Butterfree was stunned and used a counter attack on charmander. Nicky looked at pidgey. "Pidgey use sand attack then use gust."

The Butterfree started to choke as the sand back in and went flyign use pidgey attacked it. Nicky threw her pokeball at it and waited for a moments to see if she had caught it. She smiled as she caught it and jumped a bit. "Great job charmander! You too pidgey.!"

"Chaaa"
"Piiidgeeee"

Nicky returned charmander and pidgey to their pokeballs to rest and she made her way out of the forest returning to the pokemon center she bumped into jay.

"Jay..I got you a present." She smiled blushing a bit.

"Nothing, Just still gettin' over anxiety from a race me and Poliwag entered."
Matt paused, gathering his thoughts over the nervousness.
"Did I tell you? I won a Krabby. I'd show you, but he's in the center being treated."
Matt quickley continued, anxious to buy some supplies.
"I'm gonna head to the mart, seeya later."
Matt walked off, trying to erase what he thought may happen tomorrow, in the forest..

"oh....ok----OOF!" jay said as he was slammed in the chest by nikkie.

"i got you a present jay" she said.

"i present you say? what is it" he said as she hands him a pokeball.

"open it" she suggested and blushed even more. jay opened the pokeball and released a butterfree.

"OH MAN!!!!! WOW NIKKIE!!! I ALWAYS WANTED A BUTTERFREE!!!" jay yelled as cyndaquil crossed its arms and turned away from jay. jay saw this and knelt down.
"oh dont worry, your always gonna be my best buddy cyndaquil, you're tied with jeff and matt(G)." he said as he lifted cyndaquil up tosee butterfree.
"say hi to our new friend butterfree" jay said as cyndaquil waved his arms happily and butterfree flapped its wings in the same manner.

Nicky blushed deeply."I'm really gald you like it jay i got it cause i really..really..uh..um.." she froze and didn't know what to say. "I Gotta go to the bathroom!" she ran into the ladies room with such embrassment. "I'm soo stupid, i have to tell him though." She took a deep breath and walked back over to jay. "Jay..I..i......i...LIKE YOU!" she kissed him quickly and bushled deeply. " You proably don't even feel the same for me..so i quess i'm just wasteing my time."
She blabbered on for another two minutes. Noticeing he was gone. "W-what?, Where'd he go. Oh damnit."

Jwar looked on in astonishment as the people she knew promptly ignored her.. including nurse joy. Had her wish of being a lone pokemon trainer come true? Or had the others forgotten her already?
"Nurse joy... please.. pokemon.. heal?" Jwar babbled and pushed her two poke balls and Shocker across the desk.
"Oh.. Sure thing." After waiting a few moments nurse joy returned "here you go. And here is a face cloth and some soap for you to wash up with!' Joy smiled brightly.. Jwar twitched a few moments, let shocker climb back on her shoulder, then headed for the bath room muttering something about.. "pinkhaired ditzy nurses" Once inside she shed her coat and bag and untied her bandana. she took out her hair brush from her bag and combed out the twigs from her hair, then scrubbed the dirt of her arms and face. Her jeans were pretty dirty.. as well as her favorite articuno t-shirt. "I'll just have to wash them tonight down in the centers laundry area." She said mostly to her self. "Pika?" questioned shocker. "Shocker.. do mind going back in your pokeball for a bit? my shoulder needs a break." Shocker let out a "pika.." sadly.. but nodded.
"Shocker return!" Said jwar calling him back. She gathered her coat then retied her hair in her badana. She wrung out her face cloth wrapped the soap with it then walked back to the desk. "Thanks" she said and handed to the chansee behind the desk.
"Now.. lessee.. ah yes shopping time." She wondered out of the center not bothering to interrupt the moment between Jay an Nicky. She made her way to poke mart..
"3 poke balls.. 2 potions.. some poke chow.. oh! Dark chocolate bar! Hmm.. that blue bandana looks cool"
"35 dollars miss."
"here you go!" Jwar said taking the money out of her wallet and handing it to the clerk. She had saved her baby-sitting money for months for the trip and her mother had given her some as well. She still had 200 dollars left. ."

Sean was walking around with Tangela and venonat at his heels.

"Hey Tang!" Tangela skipped up in front of him and looked up into his eyes. "Bind my leg." Tangela looked up at him confused as Sean stopped. "You heard me, and you understand." Tangela reached out a vine cautiously and wrapped it around Sean's leg. "Tighter." He said firmly. "Don't be afraid of hurting me." Tangela tightened up the vine and wrapped four more, each tightening. "THat's not going to do." Sean swung his leg and Tangela tumbled to the side. He threw Tangela's pokeball and returned him.

Next he turned to Venonat. "Tackle, now." Venonat braced itself and then threw it's body forward, smashing into Sean's knee and causing him to stumble a bit, nearly knocking him down. "Decent. Not good enough though." He dropped Venonat's ball and returned him as well. He fastened both balls to his belt and headed to the pokecenter. Outside he saw everyone standing around. "And what is this festival of fun all about?" He asked as he passed. "Forgot...I don't care." He passed through the doors to get his pokemon treated.
