Title: the meaning of life

tintenfisch - January 29, 2004 02:23 AM (GMT)
what to you is the meaning of life, does it have a point why do we exsist

CrossKnight - January 29, 2004 02:37 AM (GMT)
Love one another and embrace the earth we were given.

His Divine Shadow - January 29, 2004 03:14 AM (GMT)
We exist to better ourselves. To make the unknown known.

tintenfisch - January 29, 2004 03:27 AM (GMT)
live life as you see fit for yourself and be good to one another, tolerate one another and be able to accept paradigms (changes of thought and opinion)

Earth Realm - January 29, 2004 03:32 PM (GMT)
There is no true meaning. Thus there is no meaning

Ladian - January 29, 2004 05:09 PM (GMT)
To learn to love God and all his creation, to do your best to show His love to all others, so that they may also find peace and love in Him. I believe the ultimate point of life is to go to Heaven to be with God.

Okay, this calls for something I've had saved for a while...

I may need BR to help me explain this but he and i figured out the meaning of life in one night.

In essence the meaning of liofe is the symbiosis of humans. We depend on one another and thus giving meaning to one anothers life. Eventually our meaning spreads into the life of others that are close to us forming a sort of net of morality and meaning. We come into balance with one another as our meaning fades someone elses compensates for it. So the true meaning of our lives is to contribute to this net of existence and aid our fellow man in his search for meaning.

I think I got it right

CrossKnight - January 30, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I think I read something like that on the back of a cereal box once.

Ladian - January 30, 2004 02:00 AM (GMT)
Well I think it's a good philosophy.

I've got one word for the answer to this question, and don't dismiss it as girly, because you all know it's true.

Love.

That's it, that's your answer. Think about it, really. Without love, what's the point of doing anything at all? Why be born, why grow old and die? Love is the key to everything on this planet. Why am I typing on this board? I have a certain affection for the people on it. Why am I in college? I love the work that I do, and I know I will love it more once I improve. How did I even get to college int eh first place? Because growing up there were millions of things to love. The obvious my sister, but less obvious are even the little things. Certain toys, playing in the backyard, friends. Even an incegnificant thing like chocolete. There's a million different kinds of love, but we humans put it all into one word, which I find wonderful. Love is everything, and it's what makes us do what we do. It's what makes us live and breath. It's the cause of every fight we ever had with someone, and also the cause of every gift we ever recived. It's the reason we go to school everyday or drag ourselves to work. Even if you're convinced you HATE school/work, I gaurentee there is something there that you love. You may simply love one particualr class, or maybe just the color of the paint on the walls. Something is there that drives you forward. We were out here on this earth, we were born, or created for the purpous of understanding this very complex difficult feeling. Because I solidly stand by that love is the answer,a dn the key to everything.

*chimes in almost 2 weeks later* I'm with natalie on this one, ask Jess how much of a romantic I am. I love love and I love everything about love.

"Love is what makes our world move, so there will always be an element of it in everything" my own words.

Fighter - February 11, 2004 12:27 AM (GMT)
my answer to everything....

RAMEN! THE MEANING OF LIFE IS RAMEN!lol jh/k

the meaning of life? its one thing.....and youve gotta figure it out for yourself. i believe that we choose our own meaning for life.

CrossKnight - February 11, 2004 12:37 AM (GMT)
That's a good way to see it.

Sacrificial Hero - February 11, 2004 12:38 AM (GMT)
and an incredibly cliche line

CrossKnight - February 11, 2004 12:41 AM (GMT)
that's only because you didn't say it.

Fighter - February 11, 2004 12:53 AM (GMT)
sean you think everything i say is a cliche

Sacrificial Hero - February 11, 2004 01:01 AM (GMT)
Just because it's a cliche doesn't mean I don't agree. I happen to agree, it's part of the theory I already posted. And Jay it is a cliche, think of how many times it's been said.

CrossKnight - February 11, 2004 01:03 AM (GMT)
And you're the first person to ever preach about "love moving our world"?

Don't take it so seriously, I didn't mean nothing by it.

Fighter - February 11, 2004 01:12 AM (GMT)
i've only heard it from city slickers II

Sacrificial Hero - February 11, 2004 01:23 AM (GMT)
I didn't preach it, I only agreed. and "we all choose our own meanings" is a cop out for "I haven't the slightest idea"

Aarkan - February 11, 2004 01:27 AM (GMT)
Shimi's Pupil: To live... Is to push all of you others aside...
Gene: That may be...
*gunshot*
Shimi's Pupil: Sorry, Gene Starwind, I still want to live.
