Armor Description:
The Dimetrodon has plenty of rather strong and heavy armor protecting its frame. It's a very heavy, dense machine with some of the thickest armor in its class. In fact, it's the second most heavily armored machine out of all the Delta Zoids, just behind the Gojulas. However, being an older model, the armor isn't the same quality as, say, the Killer Dome's, and accounts for a significant portion of its weight. Nevertheless, there's a lot of the stuff, and you'll have a hard time getting through all that. It covers the torso, legs, tail, and spines, and the only real weak spots are two tiny ventilation ducts on either belly flank.

Mobility and Power Source:
The original Dimetrodon was a fierce predator of the ancient world. A stocky, muscular reptile with superior acceleration and quite a bit of ferocity, this was a beast you did not want to tangle with. This Dimetrodon is the same way. Though it has a slow top speed, it can accelerate very quickly and packs a lot of muscle power backing up its heavy frame. Its teeth are designed to punch into an opponent and hold on as the powerful neck whips them around. The tail can be swung with great force, especially since the Dimetrodon can turn rather quickly. Its weakness is extended combat; like any reptile, the Dimetrodon isn't built for endurance, and will tire quickly if pushed too hard for too long.

Equipment:

All-Weather Omnidirectional 3D Radar
The Dimetrodon's Dorsal fin's first ability is to act as an all-weather 3D Radar that can pretty much locate almost any Zoid in nearly any terrain and climate. It features ground-penetrating, all-weather, multi-band radar second only to the Killer Dome's own sensory array in power and sensory ability.

Dorsal Jamming Fins
The Dimetrodon's Dorsal fin's other ability is to act like the Dark Spiner's jamming blades and deactivate the extra-sensory equipment, such as infrared and radar, of nearby enemies. If it's less powerful than the Dimetrodon's own systems, the fins can jam it. In an especially devious move, the jamming fins can confuse the targeting computers of enemy Zoids, giving them the Zoid equivalent of extreme nearsightedness (as far as targeting goes) at ranges 500 meters and less. The more sophisticated equipment on sniper Zoids can negate this effect.

Composite Sensor Unit
In case the dorsal fins are damaged beyond use the Dimetrodon can still make use of the Composite Sensor Unit, located on the left side of the rear dorsal fin, which makes use of 3D mapping and radar to locate must Zoids and map out most terrains. Best of all, like the Dimetrodon's little brother the Gator, it improves the Dimetrodon's own targeting by 20%, as well as the targeting of all Zoids on its team.

Infra-Red Laser Searcher
Mounted on the head, the infra-red laser searcher works to locate Zoids via heat signature as well as outline. It pegs the Zoid with a laser tracker that continually relays their position to the Dimetrodon itself. Almost nothing can hide from this thing, except Zoids that can cloak themselves on both the infrared and visual spectrums.

High-Pressure Concentrated Sulfuric Acid Spray Cannon
Mounted next to the neck of the Dimetrodon on the left side is the sulfuric acid spray cannon, which fires what is effectively a firehose of nastily caustic acid. It functions exactly like the model on the Red Horn, except it can fire twice as long, for a total of twelve seconds. Great for destroying the more delicate components of a Zoid, such as exposed hoses, wires, guns, you name it. Of course, it's wise to keep this away from your opponent's cockpit, if only because of good sportsmanship.

3-Shot Missile Pod
Mounted over the top of the neck of the Dimetrodon and in front of the dorsal fins, this pod houses 3 missiles. Guided by the Dimetrodon's own complex sensory array, these missiles are incredibly accurate and can lock from long distances away. Equally capable of tracking aerial Zoids as well as ground-based Zoids, these are otherwise standard missiles.

TEZ 20mm Liner Laser Gun x2
Two laser guns mounted below the Dimetrodon's neck in front of the shoulders and on either side of the lower jaw in a fixed forward position. They're much more powerful than the caliber implies, and each bolt packs the punch of an AZ60mm armor-piercing bullet, but concentrated into a highly focused green laser. They fire at a semi-auto rate of two bolts per second.

AEZ 20mm Beam Gun x2
Mounted on either side of the tip of the Dimetrodon's tail in a rear-facing position. They rely on the tail for aiming, and feature repeater-like fire of eight small, potent beams per second each. The tail can face 120 degrees in either direction. Best of all, these are made of extremely strong alloys to absorb damage from the Dimetrodon's heavy tail-thwacks.
