Armor Description:
The armor of the Stealth Viper is sub-par at best. It covers most of the body from head to the tip of the tail and it's thickest around the central box in the middle of the Stealth Viper's body. The Stealth Viper is thin too and it can't take much of a beating on it's own. It relies mostly on burrowing into sand or swimming in shallow water to avoid damage. Still, for what it's worth, the Viper has some tough internal structure, possibly to make up for the armor's failings.
Mobility and Power Source:
The Stealth Viper, like a real snake, isn't designed for straight-up combat. Rather, it's better for sneaking along before striking suddenly. The core reflects that, and the Viper can tire itself out if it's running and gunning and biting like a Liger. This Zoid is one for the patient pilot, one who enjoys wearing the enemy down. For what it's worth, the Viper's very agile and can burrow into sand and loose dirt quickly to run away. Also, the Viper can coil around an enemy similar to a constrictor in order to put the squeeze on it.
Equipment:
Fangs
Two small, yet sharp, alloy fangs located in the small mouth of the Stealth Viper. They're fairly lousy for actual tearing or shredding, but good for penetrating deeper into your enemy's internal structure than most other fangs. They don't charge in any way.
16mm Vulcan Gun
Mounted on the face in a forward locked position. The same model used on the Pteras, this gun fires small, armor piercing rounds at 30 per second, and is actually very accurate. Not only that, but it's silenced to produce almost no sound when fired save the whoosh of the bullets in the air.
40mm Heavy Machinegun x2
Two of them, one mounted on either side of the face in a forward locked position. Though they fire denser bullets at an increased muzzle velocity, they lack accuracy past 200 meters. Best for ambush, as they produce a loud booming noise that can surprise an unwary enemy. Or pilot, if you're not expecting it. They fire at ten rounds per second.
40mm Anti-Aircraft Laser Machinegun x2
Two of them, one on either side of the central box in the middle of the Stealth Viper's body, pointing upwards and capable of enough pivoting to shoot down most air Zoids. Though they have a high spread, their damage is comparable more to 20mm cannon fire. Still, they fire at a respectable rate of fifteen rounds per second.
2-Shot Rocket Launcher
Located on the tip of the tail in a rear-facing position are a pair of rockets. They are the same in power as standard missiles. However, they sacrifice heat targeting in favor of higher flight speed, and cannot lock.
Surface-to-air 2-Shot Missile Launcher
Located just behind the central box in the middle of the Stealth Viper's long body, they can point forward, upward, or to the rear to be fired on nearly any air target, though they risk the chance of hitting the Stealth Viper itself. They are too fast to be used effectively against ground Zoids.
Steam Vents
All along the Stealth Viper are a series of steam vents that when activated, constantly release several streams of steam to create a large steam cloud around the Stealth Viper. The steam obscures visual and infrared targeting (save the Viper's own) and is produced from each segment save the head, central box and tip of the tail.
Infrared
Other than allowing the Stealth Viper to see some stealth Zoids and to see through it's own steam cloud there isn't much to this simple sensor. It's specially calibrated to see through steam, as well, unlike most infrared sensors. When active, the IR replaces the normal pilot's vision, good for night operations with its "Predator" like vision, but able to be blinded easily by large amounts of heat, such as laserfire, beam shots or explosives.
