Description of Planet Zi

Zi is a large planet similar to Earth except with a higher propensity of metallic minerals and the presence of metallic life forms known as Zoids. The planet is divided into four continents, the Dark Continent of Nyx, the Western Continent of Europa, the Central Continent of Delpoi, and the peaceful Eastern Continent of Cronus.

The Dark Continent used to be full of life and resources. But over time and thanks to the war and destruction that often plagued the continent, the entire area is almost devoid of human or Zoid life. There are a few port towns along the shore and a few very small settlements scattered across the land but for the most part it is uninhabited. The ruins of the Guylos Capitol City of Beruhama remain abandoned and dark clouds cover the city year round. Rumor tells us that the Backdraft Organization may have made their base in one of the many mountains of the Dark Continent. But so few travel to Nyx that the only way to know where the base is located is to be a member of the Backdraft.

The Western Continent, located between the Dark Continent and the Central Continent, is covered mostly by deserts. Both the old Guylos Empire and old Helic Republic established colonies there and even the Neo Zenebas Empire ruled there for a while. As such the area is rich with a variety of cultures and very multi-ethnic. This is a breeding ground for artistic and technological development but also a breeding ground for conflict. Due to the constant war that ravaged Europa it has very few cities, few towns, and many ruins. The most pronounced feature of the Western Continent is the large Olympus Mountain. As the location of the first battle between the Guylos Empire and the Helic Republic, and the location of one of the Peace Keeping Organization's bases, it holds a lot of historic and military significance.

The Central Continent was home to not one but rather two powerful countries. After the meteor hit it and split the continent into three parts, only one of the countries, the Helic Republic, survived. The Helic Republic's old capitol city was destroyed during the war with the Neo Zenebas Empire much like the Guylos capitol, but unlike the Guylos Capitol it was re-built. Now in it's place is New Helic City, the largest city in the world. Several other populous cities have also emerged nearby. The Central Continent is arguably the most prosperous and most populated continent of the four. Physically it is a lot like the Western Continent with a lot of uninhabitable desert and the cities rely on trade and supplies from other continents to maintain the prosperous lifestyle of their people.

The Eastern Continent is quite a mystery. Despite it being the last haven for the old Helic Republic and the least ravaged by war, few people actually live there. Those who do try as much as possible to stay away from the Zoid battles, conflicts, and high technology that often characterizes the other three continents. Instead, many of the locals choose a simple lifestyle, living in villages or in the countryside, living off of their own farms or buying food from local marketplaces, using their few Zoids for labor instead of combat, and pretty much keeping themselves out of touch with the rest of the world. An odd feature of people from the Eastern Continent is their intense devotion to religion. The one exception to this rural environment is the famous urban center of Romeo City. Well known for chugging out powerful customized Zoids, such as Gun Snipers, for sanctioned Zoid battles, Romeo City is situated in a cliff-strewn, tree-spotted desert. It's difficult to get to but it's well worth the trek. Romeo City is one of the most important cities to the ZBC.
