Hikari no Baka stood in a shower, water running down her body as she bent over and placed her head against the wall. Next to her was the ghost of Chris Hawkstar without her metallic features. Instead, she had scars on her face and right arm. She also looked like she was nineteen. Never mind the fact that she was well into her forties when she died. Her scarred face was forced into the craziest grin one has ever seen.
“So, still figuring out a way to ruin my afterlife and your own life, Kate?”
Hikari turned towards the figment of her own mind and snarled at her. Chris just rubbed the large scar on the right side of her face absentmindedly and erased the grin on her face. She knew exactly what she did. She was pushing Hikari’s buttons.
“Don’t call me that!”
“I wouldn’t do it if you didn’t react, Hikari. It’s fun watching you get annoyed.”
“I don’t care if you like it or not, just stop!”
Their argument was cut short by a knock on the bathroom door. It was one of the other members of Bionic Death Knights, Hikari’s oddly named Zoid team. And they thought Pointy Darkness was a name thought up while on drugs. They’ve got nothing on Hikari.
“Hikari, everything is ready for your trip. Kaze and I will make sure that the Zoids are ready by the time you get back."
Hikari just stood up and looked Chris in the eyes.
"Only time I'll be nice to you, Chris. You can say goodbye again before it's all over,"she said coldly.
Chris looked away as Hikari turned the water off, grabbed a couple towels, dried off, and wrapped herself in the towels.
"Hikari?"
Oh yeah. Kage was standing on the other side of the door and was probably worried about Hikari since she didn't answer.
"Thank you, Kage. Make sure everything stays on schedule or else."
"Of course, Hikari."
It was scary how much her 'team mates' were wrapped around her little finger. If Hikari asked them to jump off of a bridge, they'd ask which one. Chris shuddered as Hikari finished getting dressed. She didn't notice and opened the door, walking past Kage without looking at him.
"Please tell Seneca to send that battle challenge and tell her they must accept."
"Understood!"
Kage ran off and Hikari turned around, noticing that Chris wasn't following. She smirked at the fact she made the ghost uneasy. Point for Hikari.
"Are you coming, Chris? We'll miss our flight."
"Right, right. I'm coming."
Chris disappeared and reappeared next to Hikari and both left the building.
"Wait, he lived on an island by himself? What did he eat," Silberner said between eating her lunch. Pointy Darkness minus Ryan returned to Athens after Royal Cup to have a funeral for Chris' father. Hughes' mother and six younger siblings were also here for the funeral, Zadka taking care of Kirpalan when she found out. They were all at a restaurant eating lunch in one of the party rooms, the younger Riveras running around the table playing tag.
"It's called fishing, Sil. Father lived like that for years," Chris said calmly. He had been explaining where his father had lived and been murdered. Sil glanced at the Trillstani and snorted.
"Bet he lived in a hut made out of palm leaves and bamboo," she said, mocking Chris' tone of voice.
"Actually, he lived in your mother's house Silberner. Big house with tons of rooms and very few windows. Crazy Nyxians can't survive with their darkness," Zadka said, butting into the conversation. She was still short, but had long since traded her Gamecube in for a cane. "Benjamin, Brandon, if you don't stop I'll send you over to Aunt Icky's house and you can turn into a stuffy old man like your big brother."
Two identical boys stopped when their mother yelled at the and then met the wrath of the cane.
"But Mom, it was Adam's idea!"
"Yeah, it was all Adam's idea. He wanted to get us in trouble today!"
Zadka rolled her eyes. She was old, not stupid. She had done the same thing when she was their age, back when the Blitz Team was still around. She hit them with the cane again.
"What do you think I am, stupid? Don't you two even think about answering that. Go pull you know what on you know who."
The boys saluted and went to terrorize their oldest sister. Silberner and Siren just looked at Hughes.
"That happen a lot?"
"Yeah, the Terrible Twosome. Mom just thwaks them with The Cane a few times, but I'm starting to think they're immune."
"At least I'm not pulling out The Cube, Hughes."
"Don't even think about it, Mom."
