Armour Description:
The Brachios is coated in a layer of armour as good as that of the Molga, making it a tough bugger to take down. The armour covers most of the legs, the back and tail and the head, but there’s a noticeable lack of armour on the flanks, chest and the long neck of the Brachios. However, the Brachios has an incredibly tough structure, about the same as the Heldigunner’s structure in terms of durability, so it can take a rather hefty beating and continue motoring on.

Mobility and Power Source:
The closest counterpart to the Brachios is the Gorhecks. The Brachios has similar mobility, able to make good turns while stationary, but the turning ability decreases at an exponential rate past 120 km/h, giving it bricklike agility at top speed. The Brachios is an excellent surface vessel, though, and can operate on water via a set of small propellers deploying from the rear hips. It can make 45 knots on the surface, or temporarily dive at 25 knots down to 100 meters. It's not a submersible like the Warshark, for example, and it will have to surface for air after about a minute or two. The power output of the Brachios isn’t high, but it can continue at top speed for ages, especially with the Solar Generators supplementing the core. However, excessive use of the Linear Laser Cannon and Beam Gun will have adverse effects.

Weaponry and Equipment:

Killer Bite Fangs
Unlike the true brachiosaurus, the Brachios has a mouth that is actually filled with small but very sharp teeth. Though they don’t penetrate deeply, the Brachios can deliver a solid chomp to almost any Zoid, and the sheer number of teeth (as well as the muscle power of the jaws, limbs and neck) means the Brachios can actually flay armour away fairly effectively with a little effort.

TEZ Dual-Barrelled 20mm Linear Laser Cannon
Mounted inside an armour case at the base of the neck, fixed pointing directly forward, is this small cannon. It’s not overly powerful, but each barrel is able to spit out lasers that are the equivalent of 25mm cannon shells at a rate of three times per second.

AZ 216mm Shock Cannon
The first recorded shock cannon was not utilized on the Saber Tiger but the Brachios, and this Shock Cannon actually has a greater calibre than the Shock Cannons used by the Saber Tiger and Shield Liger. However, this is countered by the fact that only one of these is installed into the chest of the Brachios, instead of the standard two or three. The Shock Cannon is immensely hard to disable, but due to being buried so far into the structure of the Brachios it can’t move at all, and the lack of a rifled barrel limits its effective range to around one hundred meters, with the max in the 150m range. It is able to fire one powerful armour-stripping shell per second.

AAZ 80mm Beam Gun
Stored under a pop-out hatch within the back of the Brachios, and thus protected by the tough armour when not in use, is this rather handy weapon. It takes about a second to deploy or retract it, but the gun itself is able to fire two beams per second that are the equivalent of an AZ95mm shell. That’s a pretty powerful beam gun for such a small Zoid, but it’s interesting to note that this gun is designed for anti-air usage. It can actually be switched to a much faster-firing AAZ 20mm power setting, firing ten shots per second in that fashion. It is able to turret up to 80 degrees up, and down to horizontal, and can rotate 360 degrees on the horizontal axis. Of course, some care is needed not to shoot your own neck, so this gun is generally not used for frontal assaults.

Solar Panel x5
Installed onto each shoulder and hip, and located on the back of the Brachios, is a small crystalline red circle panel. These are the Solar Generators. They are able to absorb bright light to power the Brachios on long patrols, and also have little difficulty absorbing laser weaponry, as long as not too much power is fed to the panels at once. Lasers striking the solar panels are absorbed, their energy stored away to help power the Brachios. However, the solar panels generate a large amount of heat, making it impossible to hide the Brachios from IR sensors.

Sonar
Standard fare underwater equipment that allows the Brachios to create a 3D map of its environment using audio waves. It feeds into the cockpit through sensors buried within the soles of the feet, the flanks, the neck and the sides of the head, and all can triangulate the position of anything down to a micro-torpedo in the water. Out of the water, the system can be used as makeshift audio detection equipment by standing stock-still and listening through the feet. In this way, the Brachios can hear nearly anything in contact with the ground within five hundred meters.
