Title: Sirius Delacroix

Solaris - February 9, 2006 02:20 PM (GMT)
Name: Sirius Delacroix
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Nationality: Imperial

Personality
Sirius is a hotheaded jokester with a hero complex. He rarely takes anything seriously, despite the phonetic pronunciation of his name. Sirius is a smart alec, with hard-earned piloting skill to back it up. Despite his flippant veneer, Sirius does have an arrogant streak in him. He hides it better than most of his relations, but it’s there.
Speaking of his relations, Sirius hates them all. He’s heard quite enough of destiny and legacy to last him a lifetime, thank you kindly. He doesn’t get along very well at all with his domineering mother.

Background
Sirius was born to Laura and David Delacroix in NC 63. Laura’s maiden name was Champ, and Sirius is the great-grandson of Harry Champ, the man destined to be King.
Well, he wasn’t King. Not of his province of Elemia, nor of any other kingdom in the Empire. In fact, the Delacroix line is so far from the throne that Sirius doesn’t really consider himself nobility, much less royalty. This is the exact opposite of his mother’s attitude, who believes her son and daughter should be the best they can be, thereby making themselves much more attractive for the Royal Elections. The Royal Elections are the process by which a King or Queen is granted absolute power in his domain for four years, and then he or she is replaced with a successor. Only certain aristocrats hand-selected by the Emperor himself can participate in the Elections.
The two siblings grew up isolated from each other, Sirius trained to be a proper gentleman whereas Lorelei learned how to be a proper lady. Sirius had his eye more on the zoid matches as a kid, but his mother strictly forbade it. Sirius never forgot, and when he was older he would spend time hanging out at the nearby arcades to spend a fifty on zoid simulators. It was only money.
Sirius attended preparatory schools as a boy, attending the prestigious University of Guygalos once he graduated high school. He’s had a girlfriend since the sixth grade, but he never did anything really romantic with them. Eventually, in his senior year he just swore off girls in general until he settled down a bit. They appreciated it.
Just to piss his parents off, Sirius got a degree in the Liberal Arts. He actually does have skill with sculpting and drawing, but he never seriously considered a career in the arts. Zoid piloting was still Sirius’s love. It was the one thing he was serious about.
Taking his trust fund and buying a zoid, Sirius toured the amateur circuit for a little while before going professional. A number of Teams paid attention to his career, as the Champs were well known as wealthy, if not skilled, pilots. Among them was Tyrant Saurers, especially after Winona’s death.
Sirius was the opposite of that stereotype. He had little money to his name, but he did have a zoid and he was damn good in that zoid. Following Kyne’s retirement from the Pro Circuit after the Royal Cup Tournament, Sirius joined up with Team Dawnstar as their newest gun.
Sirius currently lives in Beruhama, in the upper-middle-class neighborhood. He lives in a small two-bedroom house and drives a sporty little two-seat car he bought with money from his trust fund. The house is rather pleasant, as Sirius doesn’t really live in it enough to make a mess, and the car is kept in good repair because Sirius doesn’t particularly feel like buying a new vehicle. He’s already killed two cars learning how to drive, and this is the first one he bought himself.

Appearance
Sirius has movie-star good looks, which he does his best to ignore. Sirius is a flat six foot and weighs one-fifty pounds; a little on the slender side, but not much. He has straight black hair, which he keeps slicked back, blue eyes, and bronze skin. He wears square-framed sunglasses. When wearing casual clothing Sirius prefers an undershirt, dark blue-grey hooded sweatshirt, worn blue jeans, dark grey tennis shoes, and a brown-black leather jacket to wear. He goes for the casual look. In the cockpit, though, Sirius wears a high-end flight suit designed to protect him against the effects of high-speed maneuvers and collisions. It is a black body glove under pale gunmetal pauldrons, cuirass, gauntlets and boots. He’s long ago learned to compensate for the gauntlets, as they don’t take away from his sense of touch much. Sirius has defined musculature, though he’s certainly not a hulking beast of a muscleman. He’s merely fit and capable of doing more than enough physical labor.
