Armor Description:
Designed to be able to do just about anything in support of the Liger Zero, the Shadow Fox has decent armor strength for it's size, and the armor covers nearly every part of the body. There are a few gaps in the hip joints, as well as the neck, and a thin sheet on the flanks, but the Shadow Fox has no true Achilles' heels. Its armor is about as strong as that on the Lightning Saix, so it's got some respectable staying power.
Mobility and Power Source:
The Shadow Fox is an all-around great Zoid. It's got it all: customization potential, speed, agility, stealth, everything...except weight. And armor. The Fox's agility takes note of that, providing extreme agility almost as quick and maneuverable as the Lightning Saix. It's leagues above Ligers, and the Saber Tiger as well, but unlike the Lightning Saix, the Fox's canine build means it can keep running for a long time. Its optimum cruising speed is a bit above the Saix's, at 270kph. Best of all, its core is adaptable and can support a wide variety of customized modifications. Unfortunately, due to this, the Shadow Fox is cost-prohibitive to mass produce, and very few are ever seen.
AZ30mm Laser Vulcan Gun
This state-of-the-art laser Vulcan fires shots with above-average piercing power. The gun can rotate a full 360 degrees on the horizontal axis and can pivot a great deal up and down on the vertical axis, being capable of shooting from nearly any angle except straight down. It's great at penetrating into structure through armor, and repeated firing upon an area will deal damage to the structure even before the armor's been burned away.
AZ70mm Electromagnetic Net Gun
Mounted in the tail, rear-facing, the net gun fires a large rocket-propelled canister at an opponent. Once within close proximity the rocket detaches and the canister dissolves, allowing the large net to open up and engulf the enemy Zoid, shocking it a second later. The shock is enough to stun a Zoid for several more seconds and damage exposed internals. The range of the rocket-propelled net canister is a full 300 meters but it is only truly accurate and effective at half that distance. You only, however, get one shot.
Electron Bite Fangs
Rows of razor-sharp alloy teeth line the Shadow Fox's sleek jaws. They can be charged up with electric energy for a lot of shocking electrical damage to go along with the physical damage. Generally used as a last resort, this equipment delivers quite a drain to the Shadow Fox's energy supply.
Strike Laser Claw x4
One on the end of each of the Shadow Fox's legs, these claws have four toes made of a sharp, extra-strength alloy. They can be charged with laser energy for more damage. The Fox isn't very strong, physically, so judicious use of these is required.
Anchor x4
Mounted on the backs of the ankles of the Shadow Fox's feet, these anchors are designed to absorb the recoil of some of the larger weapons the Shadow Fox is capable of mounting. They take about a half-second to deploy and/or retract, and the hardest stuff they can dig into is soft rock. They're powered by pneumatic pistons that allow these pernicious pitons to penetrate prodigiously into the terrain.
Smoke Dischargers x4
These are located on the shoulders of the Fox. They can discharge a cloud of smoke that can be just blown away by a variety of things such as boosters and high-velocity fire. The smoke cloud's size depends on how long the Shadow Fox pours out the smoke and it is especially useful in close range to allow the Fox to sneak up on an opponent. Please note that muzzle flashes from gun fire from the Fox will easily expose the Fox even with smoke. Also note that because of their location, if the Fox's shoulders get heavily damaged the smoke dischargers will cease to function.
Stealth System/Optical Camouflage
Contrary to popular belief, the Shadow Fox's optical camouflage is different from the stealth shield of the Helcat. Rather than hide the Fox, it simply camouflages it with it's surroundings. At ranges below 100 meters the optical camouflage is just about useless. Plus, too much movement will expose the Fox. Additionally, the camouflage works through the armor of the Zoid and should it lose a critical piece of it, that area won't be camouflaged, thus exposing the Fox unless it uses smoke. Still, despite it's weaknesses, the camouflage can be very useful in ranged combat.
3D Radar & Multi-Ear Sensor x2
A well-rounded sensory unit making use of 3D radar and terrain mapping, projected into monitors in the cockpit. Backing this up is an infrared vision mode much like an advanced version of the Stealth Viper's. It's more difficult to fool, and can pick up even slight traces of heat, allowing it to see Zoids with IR damping on within 200 meters. Overall, the Fox's ears are very useful when it comes to skulking around all sneaky-like.
Shoulder Weapon Rack, Multi Weapon Rack
The Fox has three main hardpoints. Due to its design, it can only accept units designed specifically to mount to these three hardpoints, but on the flip side, they're universal, meaning it can swap said parts easily in battle. Two of them are located above the smoke dischargers on the shoulders of the Fox, meant for smaller equipment, whereas the main Multi-Weapon Rack is the mounting base for the AZ30mm laser vulcan itself. This base features 360 degrees of turreting capability, and best of all, can accept a very wide variety of established parts.
