Magnessor technology relies upon magnetic lasers to move objects about within a planet’s magnetic fields. Zi has an unusually strong field, rendering magnetic lasers quite powerful. Usually, they are unfocused broadcasts, but with this weapon it is a dual-coiled emitter with a focused beam roughly half a meter in diameter. The point is that the weapon can move objects about as though they were physically attached to the zoid mounting it. The turret is exceptionally strong, being composed of Zoid Magnite and constructed with the idea of hoisting about hundreds of tons. It can rotate completely about on the horizontal and vertical axis, though it can only move in one direction at a time due to the old-fashioned heavy-duty turret design. The beam strikes with noticeable impact, knocking sixty-ton zoids to the ground. The Red Horns can drag about zoids up to half again their weight, the Gordos zoids three-quarters its weight, and the Elephander can drag about zoids weighing half what it does.
The beam has two settings. The first is repulsor, which pushes zoids away from the mounting zoid. The second is tractor, which drags zoids in. Each has their uses. For instance, the Gordos most frequently relies upon the repulsor to push the enemy away, while the Horn and Elephander will most likely use the tractor beams to pull in the enemy zoids for a goring.
