Chaff Charges x8 – Each of these contains hundreds of aluminum strips. They fire out the back of the chassis-mounted armament boxes, and the resulting cloud has a radar signature larger than the zoid itself. Only the ‘Mander’s signature is as big as the cloud, but the ‘Mander can take a few direct hits.
Infrared Flare Rockets x4 – The IR cousins to the chaff, these are miniaturized missile drones that fly around following the zoid and thereby distracting incoming missiles that go for the big glowing target, rather than the lesser target of the flyer. Obviously, they don’t actually hit the flyer, and they die after about four seconds.
The charges and rockets both emit from tubes installed on the zoid’s tail. A direct hit to the tubes will destroy all remaining charges and rockets.
