This modification takes parts from two CP-15 Assault Gatling Units and integrates them with the booster cannons of the Leomaster. The result is far more devastating to the enemy, and yet draws less power from the DCS-J than the normal Beam Cannons did, greatly assisting with longer-duration battles.
Basically, the Berserker Liger Unit takes the basic beam cannons off and replaces them with the Gatling part of the AGU. Naturally, this required entirely replacing the breech, requiring the installation of a smaller ionic pulsejet to maintain the same speed as before.
The two Gatling Cannons are pretty impressive pieces of machinery, firing explosive forty-millimeter shells at a rate of thirty per second each. The double-barreled AMD Machineguns fire six shells a second per barrel, to a total of forty-eight shells per second. Altogether the sets fire one-hundred and eight shells a second, most of which are high-damage explosive rounds. The AMD rounds are high-heat, meaning they do a good job of cooking missiles before they can get to the Shield Liger.
Much like the normal Leomaster’s cannons, these are capable of rotating to face any bearing. The Gatling and machineguns of a set must face the same direction, though the machineguns have thirty degrees of inclination on the vertical.
The one piece of equipment that isn’t standard to the AGU is the breacher missile pod mounted on the top of the Gatling Units. It fires a special missile with a two-stage warhead similar to those missiles found on the Hammerhead. The first stage lets out an electromagnetic charge, excellent for stalling smaller zoids in the forty-ton range and killing shields, while the second stage detonates once it makes contact with something solid and explodes with twice the power of an ordinary missile. The breacher missiles are relatively slow, going only 650 km/h, and as such are really only useful against ground targets or low-flying aerials.
