Armour Description:
The Dragoon Nest has thick, tough armour, comparable to that of the Hovercargo, covering the top half of the Zoid, including the top halves of the big claws at the front. The legs, arms the claws are mounted to and the underbelly are all unarmoured, but have excellent structure comparable to that of a Giga Gojulas. The Dragoon Nest can comfortably carry a good crew compliment, with facilities to sleep six.

Mobility and Power Source:
The Dragoon Nest is a primarily underwater transport, all the hangars being fitted with pumping systems to remove the water they let in. In the water the Dragoon Nest is relatively nimble, able to compete with most aquatic fighters, though the turning rate is scaled up due to the big size of this beast. The tail is fully flexible, able to undulate and propel the Dragoon Nest at great speed. On land it lumbers along, dragging its underbelly along the ground, so it’s pretty slow and has trouble handling hard terrain. It can’t handle using much energy very quickly, so it can’t sustain its E-Shield all that long.

Equipment:

E-Shield Generator x6
Embedded into the armour of the Dragoon Nest, in various places, are six E-Shield Generators that are capable of generating a large Frontal Force Shield roughly three times the strength of the standard Shield Liger E-Shield, so it can resist a standard Charged Particle Gun. The shield is dual-layered, to prevent beams penetrating it. Due to the large size of it, the shield draws a lot of power from the Dragoon Nest’s systems.

Homing Torpedo x10
Mounted at the bottom of the Dragoon Nest’s chest are ten heavy homing torpedoes. These are very large, each packing the power of ten missiles, and will sink just about any Zoid they strike. They utilize the Radar System the Dragoon Nest has, as well as a combination of sonar and laser-sighting to track the target, and move very quickly, accelerating to 300 knots within a second.

Enemy-Searching Radar x2
The small head of the Dragoon Nest has two long antennae sweeping back from it over the body, and these are the Enemy-Searching Radar. They contain an advanced sonar system as well as a very accurate 3D all-terrain all-weather radar that can actually operate under the water. It’s able to defeat lower-end stealth systems, and works out to eight kilometres. The data can be transmitted to other Zoids.

Quarter Deck
The large lump on the Dragoon’s back is actually a small hangar that is designed primarily for launching aquatic Zoids. It’s got an airlock-type system to pump water into the hangar, and a large section of armour swings open to extend the ramp and release whatever Zoid is inside. It’s not very big, so even an average-sized Zoid like a Shield Liger would find it cramped in there. It faces backwards, and when on land, ground-based Zoids would actually have to clamber down off the back of the Dragoon to reach the battlefield.

Main Hangar
The front chest of the Dragoon can open up to reveal space for two large Zoids, designed to hold the mass-produced Death Stingers back in the day. It has many of the standard hangar features of transport Zoids, and the common bilge pump. The Zoids just swim or walk out of the hangar, nothing fancy. It’s quite roomy in there.

Claw Hangar x2
Each of the big claws of the Dragoon Nest is actually a miniature hangar, designed to hold a fairly large Zoid, even capable of holding Gojulai and the like. The hangars each hold one Zoid, and are completely standard. The Dragoon Nest is not well suited to launching flying Zoids, with the Quarter Deck being the only hangar even remotely suited to the job.

Small Assault Craft Landing Unit x2
Each of the big claws of the Dragoon Nest is capable of separating from the main body and moving alone, with a small one-man cockpit to be found on the top. This allows a pilot to utilize the claw as a mobile maintenance station for his or her Zoid. The Craft don’t manoeuvre all that well, and are restricted to sea travel, moving at thirty knots, but are able to make costal landings. They have the energy to run for about two hours once separated from the main body.
