Armour Description
The Murasame Liger, like most members of the Liger family, is not known for the armour it sports. The armour is of the same level as the Blade Liger’s armour, but covers even less of the Liger than any other liger. The shoulders and hips are covered in some fairly solid armour, because of specialized boosters installed into this armour, but there is also armour gracing the chest, cockpit and the ankles and shins. That’s really about it. Like all other Ligers though, the Murasame Liger does have an excellent structural design, tough and rugged. Because of the Conversion Armour System though, it can be a bit easier than normal to rid the Murasame Liger of its armour.

Mobility and Power Source
The Murasame Liger is the second most manoeuvrable Liger in the family, second only to the Liger Zero. An overall lack of armour, plus improved joints and stabilizers means that the Murasame Liger is more akin to a Saber Tiger or a Shadow Fox in terms of agility than a Shield Liger. Also, the Murasame has a specialized core designed for high responsive times and superb reactions. This means that the Murasame Liger is an excellent close-range fighter, but this specialized core means that the overall performance of the Liger suffers. The Murasame Liger is not designed for long periods of action, it is designed for a quick, close-range kill with its Katana. Therefore, over usage of the Strike Laser Claws, Laser Sabers and Laser Cannons can severely hurt the Murasame Liger.

Monomol Omnidirectional Katana
The very soul of the Murasame Liger is this gigantic curved blade, designed after the katanas of Old Earth. The katana is a fifteen-meter long blade, with a six meter long hilt, giving the blade a total reach of 21 meters when fully extended. The katana is made of normal alloy, but the alloy used in this blade is, during construction, folded twelve times over itself, giving this blade an amazing 4096 layers. This multi-layered blade has been honed to a mono-molecular edge, giving it a cutting edge as good as that of the Saber Lion, without even having to resort to high-frequency or, God forbid, laser-energized blades. The many layers of the blade makes the katana almost impossible to break in normal combat. The katana is mounted on a special omni-directional mount that allows the blade to point in literally any direction except under itself. In its stored position, the katana rests folded back against the hilt, allowing use of the hilt cannons, and this jack-knife design allows unparalleled freedom of movement, able to perform nearly any sword technique imaginable. Slashing, stabbing, parrying, and even striking with the back or sides of the blade is a relative breeze with the way that this weapon is constructed.

Dual AZ50mm Laser Cannons
Mounted into the hilt of the katana, and thus able to point almost anywhere the katana can, are two stubby cannons. These cannons are laser cannons that fire laser pulses roughly four times a second. They are just like any normal laser cannon, inflicting damage like an AZ65mm shell.

AZ208mm 3-barrel Shock Cannon
This is the standard forward-facing chest-mounted Triple Impact Cannon. The gun fires huge rounds that can strip armour in just one or two shots, but the device is pathetically inaccurate after 100 meters. Each cannon can fire once a seconds, so the Shock Cannon can fire a total of three times a second. This weapon possesses the same peg that the TIC of a Shield Liger does, allowing any modification that fits onto that peg to mount on the Murasame Liger.

Tail Blades
Mounted to the Murasame Liger's tail are two four meter long blades. They are unable to charge or fan outwards, but they make up for that with an excellent range of motion. Being that they're on the end of the very flexible tail, they can cover just about every inch of the Liger's rear. When used correctly, the Tail Blades can leave fairly nasty gashes in opponents who shy too close to its backside.

Strike Laser Claw x4
Just like some of the more advanced Liger models, the Murasame Liger is equipped with modified Strike Claws that can channel laser energy through the large mane, and into the Strike Claws, to create the deadly Strike Laser Claw. This technique acts much like laser energy around a blade, enhancing the sharpness of the claws tenfold. This immense simulated sharpness makes the SLC excellent for tearing away armour in melee combat.

Laser Sabers x2
The two long front teeth of the Murasame Liger are called laser sabres and are pretty much big, sharp fangs. They alone are several meters long and quite thick. They are thin side-to-side rather than rounded, indicating they are best used for piercing and tearing rather than crushing. The sabre fangs can be charged with laser energy for greater damage to both armour and energy shields.

Specialized Boosters x4
Installed into the armour on each shoulder of the Murasame Liger is a small booster nozzle, designed for small bursts of speed. Each of these boosters adds 10 km/h of speed to the Murasame Liger’s top speed, making the top natural running speed 270 km/h. These boosters can each be fired for six seconds maximum, before requiring an equal amount of time to cool down. If used for too long, you will risk stalling the Zoid, or burning out the boosters you are using, rendering them useless.

Conversion Armour System
The Murasame Liger utilizes a rare design feature first seen on the Liger Zero, the Conversion Armour System (CAS). This effectively means that the armour of the Murasame Liger can be taken off quickly and efficiently, allowing new armour to be equipped to change what things the Zoid can and can’t deal with. Whilst this is a useful system, there are no mass-produced Conversion Armour Units (CAU), so for the most part you will only be using the normal armour. Because the armour is designed for rapid change, the various pieces of armour and equipment, including the katana and its mount, are not as firmly and solidly connected as they would be on a normal Zoid. Powerful melee attacks are especially good at removing CAU armour.
