It’s not that great at all, but it’s an improvement on the Stealth Viper. Coverage is the same as that of the Stealth Viper, but there’s a double layer over the shield generator panels around the face. The structure is reinforced with double-strength myomers to increase speed and strength, but this also makes the king Cobra’s structure 25% more durable than the Stealth Viper’s. Mobility and Power Source: The King Cobra is a stealth model, and as such has good agility, but doesn’t have all that much power. It’s designed for ambush assaults and disappearing without a trace. That said, the King Cobra, having so much of its body in contact with the ground so often, has excellent turning rates. The King Cobra’s structure is lined with new double-strength myomers that increase the speed of the King Cobra without causing it to wear out any quicker. These myomers also increase the strength of the King Cobra by 80% over its predecessor, meaning it’s a very capable Zoid for crushing and snapping other Zoids if it wraps around them. The King Cobra can burrow down to a depth of ten meters, and can swim down to thirty meters at a speed of 30 knots. Equipment: Taser Fangs The fangs of the King Cobra are long and wicked, perfecvt for piercing armour and getting to the structure underneath. Though they don’t do much damage alone, once you’ve sunk your teeth in the King Cobra can send electricity surging through its fangs to numb and temporarily disable the area it bit, and other linked areas. Get these fangs in or near a control conduit and it’s all over. The Taser Fangs draw a good percentage of the King Cobra’s power when being used. Acid Spray Cannon Similar to the OM-03 Cobra Venom upgrade, this installs a small device inside the Cobra’s mouth which is effectively a pressurizing device and a nozzle that is used to spray acid. The acid comes from a tank buried within the throat of the King Cobra, meaning it’s pretty safe from destruction. The acid is pumped from the tank to the pressurize mechanism and then sprayed from the nozzle, up to a distance of 35 meters. This acid serves to weaken and eat away at armour, making it brittle and easy to destroy. However, the Cobra Venom truly shines when sprayed on exposed structure, as it melts through wires and small components with ease. The tank is filled with twenty-four seconds worth of acid, after which the King Cobra cannot use this mod again in the battle 88mm Heavy Cannon x2 Mounted onto either side of the King Cobra’s face is a single large cannon designed to be fired from water or dirt. They’re fixed facing forward and each fire once per second. When fired they accelerate to half again the velocity of a regular bullet, imparting a much higher penetration power than their calibre would suggest. The guns each fire once per second, and as stated, will work in dirt, sand or water. 10mm Anti-Aircraft UVaser Machinegun x2 These cannons are maintained from the Stealth Viper, but are upgraded to UV variants. Because of the increased power draw of the weapons, the calibre is cut down to 10mm. However, being UV lasers, these machineguns hit like 22mm shells. Each gun fires lasers that can’t be seen by anything except a UV device, at a rate of 15 lasers per second. They maintain the same rotational ability as the Laser Machineguns mounted on the box of the Stealth Viper. Tail-Mounted Heavy Rocket Installed inside the tail of the King Cobra is a rocket pod loaded up with a single rocket, packing the power of three AZ explosives. It can fire wherever the tail can point, meaning it can be fired in almost any direction, and once used can’t be reloaded. E-Shield Generator x2 Mounted into the panels that frame the Cobra’s face like the skin flaps of a real cobra are two King Liger E-Shield generators. They are high-efficiency models and when the panels are flipped away from the face and fanned out, the generators create a shield roughly half the strength of the standard E-Shield. Instead of being frontal in nature though, this shield stretches from just in front of the panels to almost at the tail’s tip, covering the sides and top of the King Cobra. Motion Sensor The King Cobra has a very acute sense of movement to make up for its complete lack of audio sensors. It is able to detect movement out to four hundred meters, as long as there are no stationary objects impeding the path between the motion sensor and the moving object. Because the motion sensor searches around the Cobra continuously in a sweep that takes around two seconds all told, any movement while the sensor is sweeping past the moving object shows up as a ping on a 2D map, fading away as the next sweep comes by. Anti-Zoid Vibration Sensor The entire body of the King Cobra is lined with delicate sensors that are tuned to pick up movements in the earth and the like. While not as good as the system on the Stealth Spider, it is able to detect any and all movement of objects that make contact with the ground, to a distance of one hundred and fifty meters, and it shows up continuously on the 2D map. The other advantage this has over standard motion sensors is that it can pick up vibrations in the ground down to a depth of thirty meters, to detect burrowers and the like. Serpent Scanners Simple optical replacements, these allow the King Cobra to view the world in either a high-powered infrared mode or an ultraviolet mode. The infrared mode is capable of seeing through steam and the like, and can detect footprints, gunfire, etc etc. The ultraviolet mode is for the night, and is able to see through some lower-class stealth shields, also allowing the King Cobra to see its own machinegun fire. Chameleon Camouflage Shield Not the right reptile, but nonetheless a solid stealth mechanism. It blends the King Cobra to a mottled texture that the on-board AI deems to be the closest to the ground the Cobra is travelling on. Generally it has about a 30-60% effectiveness, but this changes based on the environment. Shooting the King Cobra causes the Camouflage Shield to flicker madly. |
