Based upon the legends of snakes that spit their venom at enemies rather than biting them, this modification was originally designed for the Stealth Viper, being fitted into the mouth. The modification is effectively a pressurizing device and a nozzle that is used to spray acid fro a tank that is mounted on the throat of the Viper, under heavy armour sheets. The acid is pumped from the tank to the pressurize mechanism and then sprayed from the nozzle, up to a distance of 35 meters. This acid serves to weaken and eat away at armour, making it brittle and easy to destroy. However, the Cobra Venom truly shines when sprayed on exposed structure, as it melts through wires and small components with ease.
The tank is filled with twenty-four seconds worth of acid, after which the Stealth Viper cannot use this mod again in the battle. If the tank itself were to be broken open while still fairly full, it would be an ugly sight, but it is situated pretty much directly between where the neck connects to the head, so it’s fairly safe. With a bit of experimentation, the designers found they could mount the creation to a variety of other Zoids based on poisonous critters. The Gator and Diloforce both receive the same treatment as the Stealth Viper, gaining the nozzle in the mouth and tank on the throat, but with the Diloforce an interchange system had to be created to allow the Zoid to switch between the acid and the Small Bore CPG. Swapping weapon modes takes around 3 seconds. Finally, the Guysack had a nozzle fitted on the tail, removing the 30mm Beam Rifle, and two tanks were fitted onto the back, providing it with 48 seconds worth of acid. The Interchange system was utilized on the Guysack as well, allowing a repressurizer barrel to be swapped with the normal one, effectively doubling the spray range at the cost of using acid twice as fast.
