A very simple design for generally simple Zoids. Rankle Pods are a pair of armoured pods that are each loaded up with five standard Anti-Zoid missiles, one mounted onto each ankle. The bracing used to attach the Rankle Pods is very strong, so they’re very difficult to remove, and all are plated with armour equal to that of the Aro Saurer’s armour, meaning that the missiles inside are safe from harm. The missiles from each pod can lock onto individual targets, and a device within the armour of the pod maintains the lock so that once one missile has a lock, all missiles in the pod can be fired in quick succession. It normally takes around three seconds for a Rankle Pod to acquire a lock, through a mixture of visual imaging and IR sensors, but once done, all five missiles can be fired within two seconds.
