This design was originally created to complement the Pilebanker for the Iguan, making it even more deadly in close combat. With a little retrofitting it was found to be able to mount to the Godos as well. The weapon is a four-barreled shotgun, weighing in at eight tons. Each barrel is loaded with two cartridges, meaning that you only get two shots with this weapon, but when you use it, the results are rather impressive. This large shotgun is like an Impact Cannon on steroids. When the gun is fired there’s a loud bang, massive recoil, and more than likely lots of little Zoid pieces in front of you. At close range a single shot from this cannon will take out nearly any Alpha-class Zoid, and even some Beta-class Zoids. It spreads shrapnel in an area roughly five meters in diameter, making any armour pay for getting in the road.
Sadly, there are some great downsides to the Streetsweeper. Firstly, the weight and positioning unbalances the Zoid, reducing speed by 10 km/h for the Godos and 20 km/h for the Iguan. It also makes the poor Zoids much more unwieldy, meaning a strong hit to the right side can topple them. The recoil is another issue, as it will damn near take out the Zoid using it, straining structure and warping it quite badly. After firing the first time, the Zoid loses 10% of its speed, and after the second time, a further 15%, due to structural warping. Because of the spread-out nature of the weapon’s fire, it is most effective between 20 and 70 meters, but can work out to 150 meters. The Streetsweeper can be ejected at any time to regain the initial speed and agility loss, but not the damage from firing it.
