Armour Profile:
Created to combat the Saicurtis, the Double Sworder is a melee flying Zoid. Faster than the Saicurtis due to some prominent Wing Stabilizers and thrusters stored under the armoured shell, the Double Sworder is an effective Zoid at both close and long range.
The Sworder sports almost no armour, with the only armour being the fairly tough shell on the back. When on the ground, this folds shut, protecting the delicate devices within, but when in flight the shell opens up like a beetle’s, in order to utilize the Wing Stabilizers and Flexible Thruster Binders.
Mobility and Power Source:
Equipped with a quad machinegun and some beam cannons, along with the large Breaker Swords, the Double Sworder is a dangerous Zoid. While flying, the Double Sworder is faster than any ground Zoid, and quite agile. However, on land it only has an average speed, and is fairly cumbersome. Being an insect Zoid, it can run for long periods of time, but only has a mediocre core rate, meaning too much use of the Beam Cannons or flying at top speed for too long will tire out this Zoid.
Because the Double Sworder sports the same Flexible Thruster Binders as can be found on the Saicurtis, these can be used in the exact same ways, allowing it to strafe, spin and do all sorts of wonderful wizardry.
Twin Sword Breakers
Mounted on either side of the face, and extending forwards, is a single serrated strengthened alloy blade. The blades measure in at thee meters long, adding a fair bit to the length of the Double Sworder. These swords are mounted in hydraulic piston mounts, meaning that they can slam together with quite some force. The power behind the Breakers is enough to break the armour of most level 1 zoids, and can exert quite a bit of pressure. The Double Sworder is capable of holding most Zoids within the breakers, as long as they are not pulling back too hard against the Breakers, which will then break. The Sworder can lift around thirty tons with the breakers, though this reduces the speed and maneuverability of the Sworder by 75%, and is capable of dragging a thirty five ton Zoid backwards.
Quad-Barreled Machinegun
Mounted on the front of the Double Sworder, in the center of the face, between the Sword Breakers, is this machinegun. It sports four barrels, each of which can fire a 20mm round twelve times per second. This means that, though inaccurate, the machinegun can do quite a bit of damage, especially to a Zoid held in the Sword Breakers.
AZ Small-Bore Dual Beam Cannon
Mounted on the rear of the Double Sworder, this gun is meant primarily for warding away attacks from the rear. Featuring two barrels each capable of firing 3 30mm caliber shots per second, it is a useful deterrant.
Twin Laser Sensors
Mounted on either side of the newly designed enclosed combat cockpit is a small laser sensor, that combined can detect any Zoid within the frontal 90 degree arc of the Sworder, to a distance of three kilometers. The laser penetrates anything lese dense than metal, but in a metal-rich environment, the laser sensors become much less dependable.
Wing Stabilizers
Stored in the shell of the Double Sworder, these fragile stabilizers allow the Double Sworder to reach such high speeds. If either of them are damaged or destroyed, the speed of the Sworder in flight will drop to 230 km/h and it will become much harder to control. These are essential to the proper working of the Double Sworder.
Twin Flexible Thruster Binders
Mounted on the back of the Double Sworder, inside a shell, are two thruster units that each provide it with 50km/h of thrust and allow it to become airborne. While the shell is open, the FTB are exposed to attack and reveal a great weakness of the Sworder. However, the open placement of the thrusters allows them to be easily pivoted, for good movement. The movement of the thrusters is linked, so they both move the same way.
