Title: PD and Dawnstar vs Dextra Fuhrer
The Keeper - August 16, 2005 08:51 PM (GMT)
The Judge landed only a second after the pilots got themselves settled on the battlefield.

Kyne was the only Dawnstar pilot present. His Leomaster stepped out of the trailer. Kyne keyed his headset to the frequency his allies were on. "Alrighty, folks. We need a plan, and we need it fast. Talk to me."
As he spoke, he sent his data to the Judgeman's capsule. Kyne Xaratan, Class D Pilot, piloting a Shield Liger DCS-J.
EDIT: It's looking like I'm not going to be able to do this thing. Sorry, folks -- see about getting Bree to judge it for you.
EDIT: Or maybe I am.
Silberner Falkestern - August 16, 2005 09:20 PM (GMT)
Hughes' Heldigunner waddled out from its trailer. Hughes looked pretty nervous as he quickly checked his systems and seeing them all green. He flicked on his comm to the right frequency.
"Let the Redhorn shoot that thing while the Hound gets to be an annoyance and I burrow underneath it and you do what Shieldys do best, I guess."
Hughes sent over his data to the Judge after he spoke. Hughes Rivera, Pointy Darkness, Class E, piloting an unmodded Heldigunner.
Silberner Falkestern - August 16, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
Silberner's large and somewhat menacing looking purple Redhorn stomped out into the battlefeild, stopping near Hughes. She had a huge grin on her face as she checked everything. Her hands hovered over the triggers momentarily before turning on her comm.
"So, how does a big fat not-so-pointy Liger take down a chainsaw-y Fury of d00m?"
Sil then sent in her data to the Judge capsule. Silberner Falkestern, Pointy Darkness, Class D, piloting a Redhorn with a CP-03.
Silberner Falkestern - August 16, 2005 10:02 PM (GMT)
The Hound Soldier jumped out of the trailer as Siren sighed. The Hound padded up to the others on her team. She looked really depressed as she flicked her comm on.
"Why do I get the feeling that something bad's going to happen to my Hound again?"
She then sent her data to the Judge. Siren Falkestern, Pointy Darkness, Class E, piloting a Hound Soldier with the SS-04 mod.

((Battlemode: Something-or-other. Terrain: Open plains. Distance: 500 meters. Let's get done pretending I needed to post this and just start the damn fight.))
The Keeper - August 16, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
The Dextra gave off a mighty rawr just as the Judge signalled the start of the fight and ran off towards the group of zoids hauled off together (IE: Pointy Darkness). The 30mm Vulcans and the AZ60mm wrist cannons fired for at the Hound Soldier for a while until it was within 300 meters of the opposing zoid. Kazumi then ceased all fire and turned on the Shield Generator, this time approaching the Red Horn at a speed of 270 KPH. As the Dextra was within 30 meters of the Horn, Kazumi had it thruster jump onto the zoid's back to crush all weaponry before jumping off and giving it a nice ol' Tail Smack towards the Hound Soldier then a booster kick to send it off with more 'oomph'.
Silberner Falkestern - August 16, 2005 11:06 PM (GMT)
The Heldigunner fires its Long Range Assault Beam Cannon at the Dextra for two seconds. The Heldi then starts burrowing into the ground diagonally in an attempt to stay away from the Dextra's fire. Hughes then calmly watches his sonar to see if the Dextra decides to come after him next. He aims his beam cannon up the hole in case something decides to stick its head in after him.
Silberner Falkestern - August 16, 2005 11:16 PM (GMT)
The Horn keeps its head facing the Dextra as it starts firing the gatling at the Dextra's chainsaw in two second bursts to keep it from heating up. Sil then aims the missiles at the Dextra and fires them off. The Horn then fires the 80mm surface-to-air double-barreled Beam Cannon at the Dextra. When the Dextra gets close enough, the Redhorn runs at it, attempting to hit it with the Crasher Horn.

((Looks like I get to play killmaim the Dextra. Poor, poor Mia . . . ))
For a legendary monster of a machine, this Fury seemed awfully pathetic. It was a blight upon the memory of Vega's Fury. It would be dispatched easily enough.
"Lo, for though I walk through the valley in the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil."
Kyne went into the battle with weapons primed, myomers hot, and controls engaged. His zoid hit the ground running, as it were. The Leomaster set off in a straight line, barreling towards the Fury. Kyne activated the beam cannons, firing them off in quick succession at the saurian zoid. He drew his targeting reticule across the Fury's . . . Buster Saw, discharging beams into it before she got the chance to saw one of them in half.
He recognized her attack. She was Fire. Quick to the fray, bringing it to the enemy, impatient and daring.
And foolish. Kyne mentally switched gears, adopting the flowing Water attack pattern.
Kyne kept his cool as the two zoids played chicken, then his Liger's cannons abruptly shifted, casting a burst of thrust as his zoid planted its paws and turned sharply.
"For I am the meanest sonuvabitch in the joint."
The Leomaster tailed the Fury, dropping the beam cannons down to its sides. He pounced up behind the Fury just as they closed in on the Horn. Kyne flicked the jets to give his pounce more lift, his zoid sailing up beside the tail. He slammed the claws down and activated his shield, counting on the feedback loop to overload their shield generators and leave them both exposed.
"Open season, kids."
Silberner Falkestern - August 22, 2005 11:56 PM (GMT)
The Hound rushed forwards a few feet before arcing to the right of the Dextra, not worrying about the little peashooters firing at it. As soon as Siren rushes past the Dextra, it turns around and runs after the Dextra. She soon sees her opportunity as the Leomaster pounces. The Hound flips its lances forward, runs straight at the Dextra, aiming for a childish area.
"One thousand years of PAIN!"
When the lances get in good, the Hound brakes.
Solaris - August 24, 2005 01:16 AM (GMT)
When the Judgeman gives the go, the five zoids immediately spur into motion. Siren and Kyne take off running, charging towards the larger enemy zoid. Kyne heads straight towards the Dextra, whereas the Hound arcs out and around.
It is the Hound that draws the Dextra's attention. Spraying the brickdog with small-calibered fire, the Dextra wastes precious seconds. Seconds Silberner uses. Training her fire on the right Buster Saw, the beam gatling's bolts rip through the structure and mechanics of the arm. It rocked drunkenly on its new second elbow, coming off when a beam cannon shot passed through the structure.
The Fury's shield came up as its boosters activated, sending the zoid rocketing towards the Red Horn. Reacting with trained speed, Kyne flickered around the Fury whilst Siren arced in behind it. Kyne came in first, pouncing on the Fury just as it readied to leap.
Kyne activated his shield, their electromagnetic field matrices intersecting in an unstable reaction. Sparks traced along the shields' surfaces from the intersections to the generators. Kyne's four generators strained as they fed the feedback loop, coming closer and closer to destructive overload.
The Dextra's single generator went first, sending a flood of pain through the zoid and still sucking energy at a phenomenal rate for a second or two afterwards.
Tired and weary, Kyne's Leomaster dropped its shield and almost fell off of the zoid, landing with a heavy thud.
Just as Kyne was coming down, Siren came through. She speared the Fury right under the tail, pulling back out before the pilot had time to react. Not that it would have helped; the Fury was even more taxed than the Leomaster.
It stumbled, fell, and did not rise again.
Repairs:
Dextra Fury -- Heavy
Red Horn -- None
Heldigunner -- None
Leomaster -- Light
Hound Soldier -- Moderate
Rank Adjustment:
Dextra -- +1 Loss
Siren Falkestern -- +1 Win
Winnings -- 1,440 credits each.
The Dextra Fury moved at a pace of two hundred and seventy kilometers per hour. It would have taken just under seven seconds to reach the Red Horn, and it would not have reached within thirty meters of the Red Horn within this round's time frame of six seconds. In effect, it was ignoring the real threats to go after a very minor threat. Thus, a one-round defeat for a Berserk Fury.
