This weapon was developed to give the Saberlion some ranged capability, and then later adapted for use with the Blade Liger. It is a compact little unit that employs three exciters, focused into a crystal latticework just before the lens. It requires a large amount of power, roughly as much as a 120mm laser. Focused into a 20mm beam, this is what some engineers have referred to as a ‘field-useable cutting laser.’ It has amazing penetration power, capable of slicing through most armor and structure easily.
The unit mounts behind the Saberlion’s main blade, lying alongside it with just a few centimeters between the two. Normally it can only fire towards the rear, but it can pivot with the main blade and come to face forwards. It mounts similarly with the Blade Liger, mounting on the laser blades’ false edge.
