| RZ-007+ Shield Liger DCS-J Type: Lion Length: 21.6 meters Height: 11.5 meters Weight: 115 tons Speed: 285 kilometers per hour 79.16 meters per second Equipment: Laser Sabers x2 Strike Claw x4 Anti-Zoid 3-barrel Shock Cannon Pop-Out type Missile Pod x2 60mm Heavy Beam Cannon x2 AMD double-barreled 20mm Beam Cannon AZ30mm double-barreled Beam Gun E-Shield Generator Armor Description: The Leomaster doesn't have much armor. Not that it needs it. The armor of the main body is akin to that of the Blade Liger with the same strength and coverage, leaving the rear of the back as the only seriously exposed area. The legs are somewhat less armored with only a few thin plates along the front and sides of the shoulders and hips. Still, the legs are quite durable and dependable and even without armor they can take quite a bit of damage. Mobility and Power Source: More refined than the predecessor, the DCS-J still exhibits a good deal of those features that made the Shield Liger such a favorite. It has good durability and phenomenal physical strength combined with high speed, good mobility and a fairly simple design. It is, however, a bit different zoid to pilot than the ordinary Shield Liger thanks to the added onboard systems. The core is exactly the same, providing more than enough juice to power the beam cannons and boosters. Pilots have found the Leomaster to have less endurance than the Shield Liger, though this is due mainly to heavy use of the modified CP-01 beam cannons. Laser Sabers x2 Two long, sharp fangs located in the Leomaster’s mouth. They can be charged up with laser energy for a lot of damage. They're sturdy and great for pinning your opponent in place. Strike Claw x4 One on the end of each of the Liger's legs, these claws have four toes made of sharp, extra-strength alloy. Considering the zoid’s Herculean strength, these can do some pretty nasty damage if you put enough force behind them. AZ208mm 3-barrel Shock Cannon Mounted under the chest and locked in a forward facing position. Each barrel is approximately 208mm. Since the ZBC manufactures both Zoids now, this cannon has been standardized with the one on the Saber Tiger. Both are extremely powerful, but tragically inaccurate beyond 100 meters, and especially when the Liger/Tiger is running. Best stand still to fire these suckers. They have a firing rate of one shot per barrel per second, or 3 shots/sec total. Pop-Out type Missile Pod x2 These are mounted behind the beam cannons, on the base of the tail facing upwards. They require a missile lock to be practical in most situations, firing up and over the Liger in a parabolic arc. The warheads are fairly standard, though the tracking computers suffer from a lack of feed. They are therefore a little sluggish and really only useful against ground targets, but there’re a lot of them to make up for it – sixteen in total. 60mm Heavy Beam Cannon x2 These beam cannons are capable of shooting through shields, thanks to the laser encapsulation. This was a rare example of the Republic thinking ahead to the possibility that their enemies might perfect shield technology. Their plasma is much hotter than normal, thanks to the Republic's mindset of 'more power'. The particle converters and exciters are roughly four times as powerful as standard, requiring bulky coolant devices and power cells to maintain operational capacity. The armor shells around the boxes protect the top and back, but leave the side exposed where the coolant system sheds heat. Thanks to their integration into the Shield Liger’s design, they can manage more damage than the CP-01’s beam cannons, hitting like AZ100mm shells at a rate of one shot every other second, one shot from the set per second. The guns are mounted on pylons on the Liger’s flanks, and can deploy down to the side where they are capable of rotating to face just about any bearing. Beam Cannon Booster x2 The source of the Leomaster’s amped-up speed, these mount on the backs of the Heavy Beam Cannons. Similar in function to the Blade Liger’s ABU, they provide extra thrust to make the Leomaster move faster than the ordinary Blade Liger. Providing roughly eighteen kilometers per hour’s worth of thrust each, they are as useful for maneuvering as they are for making the zoid run faster. AMD double-barreled 20mm Beam Cannon The Liger's back armor can be flipped up to reveal the small, two-barreled beam cannon. It has 360 degrees of horizontal pivoting and even a little bit of vertical pivoting. A nice all-around weapon, it fires four shots per barrel per second, chainlinked to achieve a repeater effect of 8 shots per second. Each shot hits a bit harder than a 20mm cannon shell. It requires that the heavy beam cannons be deployed to the flanks to fire. AZ30mm double-barreled Beam Gun Mounted on the Leomaster’s long, flexible tail and facing backwards. Due to limited space inside the tail, the firing rate is chopped in half of what the Saber Tiger achieves, with its back-mounted model, managing three shots every two seconds. E-Shield Generator On the top and bottom of the mane of the Leomaster, behind the head, are a pair of blue panels. They look like armor but they can be extended out of the mane to act as shield generators and create a powerful energy shield in front of the Liger. It is strongest in the center but it also extends partly to the sides and over the top of the Liger. It doesn't protect the rear at all. The shield holds up equally well against cannon, bullet, and laserfire, but beams are a bit more effective against it. Its resistance against explosives and kinetic damage has been improved through the introduction of a magnetic matrix, though it is still vulnerable to plasma weaponry. Magnetic and electrical pulses are still effective at tackling the problem at the root – the generators. |
