Located in Athens, on the Eastern Continent, the Institute of Zoid Design and Technology is the leader in zoid-related research and development. It employs the best of the best to test its newest creations, and annually hosts a tournament known as the Blue Heat Cup. In previous years it has featured only one zoid, the Blue Stinger. This year, though, it features the Blue Stinger's new-fangled counterpart, the Red Stinger. Both are scorpion-type zoids. The Blue Stinger was created when the blue scorpion organoid Lament bonded with the core of Rick's Guysack. It was thought that natural zoid evolution ended forever when Lament disappeared, but apparently the Red Stinger defied that thinking.
Of course, the introduction of the second zoid made this battle all the harder to win. The Institute must be looking for a very good pilot this year.

Sign-ups will be totally open. You can bring up to two pilots into this thing. It'll take place at a time convenient me and most of you. Select few of you who have not yet made Apps can bring in a character. Those're Jules, Mia, and Wicken. Their zoid will have to be the zoid they'll start off with, and you can only bring in one. The battle will start once we have four pilots present, with late entries allowed. Bear in mind that it's the best-in-show who gets the real prize, not the fella who lasts the longest. So don't be a bastard and don't poach. I'm lookin' at you, Will.
Bring your A-game, boys and girls. This Tournament is second only to the Royal Cup, on par with the After-Christmas Massacre. Expect to be challenged like you've never been challenged before.

You realize I don't come to these things late on purpose right? Besides you made me bring another character in for the Hawkstar Royale.

Okay, because Saik and the Kentookians don't have much time, I'd like for this thing to take place tomorrow. Friday. July First. Be online that day, or I'm afraid you're just plain screwed. If I don't get four people online, then I'll go with the folks who do sign on.

The Keeper - July 1, 2005 01:17 AM (GMT)
... For the love of Eve, sign up people! I don't want to be bait for these guys... at least not yet. ;-;

Solaris - July 1, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
Folks, getting prizes has (almost) nothing to do with surviving this thing. It has everything to do with showing up and doing good.

Lycaon - July 1, 2005 01:53 AM (GMT)
I SIGNED UP. WITH MY IMAGINATION CANNON TORTOISE! Lol! o_o

Edit: Yeah I'm in this, <<;.

K4n3 - July 1, 2005 02:14 AM (GMT)
Lol? Is this some sort of instant messaging service to you? Are we the new AIM? Is that it? Do our members really not know how to spell full words? That's just fucking sad.

Eh, I'll try to be on for the Cup.

Alrighty. Expect this to take place at about 1500 CST. Possibly 1600. Be online beforehand.

Guess which dot is which Stinger. The pilots start off at the green X. The floor is gravel, and as such will not hinder most zoids' performance. Between zero and three meters is loose scree, which will hinder bipeds and some quadrupeds. Above three meters is sandstone rock face, going closer and closer to vertical until they taper out. Think Painted Desert.

Well, I'm just frelled six ways to Sunday, as I'm working tomorrow until something like 2130 EST.

Have fun, y'all, sorry my mobile shield won't be there for ya.

Wicken - July 1, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
I shall be there, though I have to run errands and shit at around 12:30 my time, which'd be 3:30 for you Eastern-Coastern-people. Hopefully it'll happen early enough where that won't be a problem >_>

Alrighty. After a spiffing battle, the Red Stinger's controlling AI emerged victorious after one mind-blowing six-second annihilation. However, the battle is never about who lasted the longest, but rather who performed the best. As such, the following prizes are given out to the following people:
Kent Pierce: 5k
Kyne Xaratan: 5k
Kizuna Hakumei: 5k
Siren Falkestern: 5k
Theresa Wicken: 5k, Best Show
Gregory Clark: 5k, Best Sportsman
Due to the fact that the AI emerged victorious, nobody receives the prize of Sole Survivor.

Rank Adjustment:
Kent Pierce: +1 Loss
Kyne Xaratan: +1 Win, +1 Loss
Kizuna Hakumei: +1 Win, +1 Loss
Siren Falkestern: +1 Win, + 1 Loss
Theresa Wicken: + 1 Loss
Gregory Clark: + 1 Loss
Funds to each: 1,850 credits
