The Twin Beam Cannons of the Shield Liger. This modification grants the Shield Liger a pair of 60mm beam cannons. They are capable of shooting through shields, thanks to the laser encapsulation. Their plasma is much hotter than normal, thanks to the Republic's mindset of 'more power'. The particle converters and exciters are roughly four times as powerful as standard, requiring bulky coolant devices and power cells to maintain operational capacity. The armor shell around the boxes protect the top and back, but leave the side exposed where the coolant system sheds heat.
These are indeed powerful guns, but they have a decidedly slow firing rate, capable of, when set to staggered mode, of firing one shot from the set in a second. They mount on the back, but can also flip down to the sides. The missile boxes are moved to the Liger's back, tilted at a twenty-degree angle. The beam cannons have to drop to the sides in order for the AMD lasers or the missiles to fire.
