NC 07: Seven years after Bit Cloud led the Blitz Team to victory in the Royal Cup Tournament on the eve of the New Century, the very last Backdraft member was gunned down in a firefight with ZBC personnel and Republican Peacekeepers. Six years before that, the Backdraft Group suspended operations due to pressure from the authorities. Indeed, it seemed that the loss of Vega Obscura - who went 'straight' following his loss to Bit Cloud - was the death blow to the BDG.
NC 09: Thus, the Backdraft has little to nothing to do with the modern culture of Zi. Instead, it was the invasion force of the Trillstani, hailing from the Eastern Continent, that launched Planet Zi into its latest war. The Trillstane people believed themselves to be the direct descendants of the Ancient Zoidians, and as such they felt that they were perfectly within their rights to retake Delpoi, Europa, and Nyz by force of arms. Naturally, the Empire and Republic disagreed. When the first invasion force of the Trillstani zoids landed on Delpoi, numbering nearly eighty zoids, they were easily repulsed by the Republic's Peacekeepers.
NC 10: The Trillstani sent another wave of zoids to assault the Republic. This time, their armada was much larger, and they succeeded in gaining a foothold on Delpoi's eastern shores.
NC 12: The Trillstani continue sending forces, and they manage to push deeper into Republican territory. The first Draconis is commissioned to combat the Fuhrer-kin zoids that form the backbone of the Trillstani armies.
NC 13: A platoon of five Dracs strike against the Trillstani forces, enjoying great success, though the Draconis was deemed to expensive to warrent its continued production. The line was shelved, and eventually disbanded.
NC 15: The ground regained by the Dracs is lost, and the Trillstani occupy Midnight City. At this point, the Helic Republic's President Iyaton sent a plea to the Empire, asking their once-mortal enemies for assistance against the scourge. They are denied.
NC 17: The Trillstani are at the very gates of New Helic City. The back of the Republic's Peacekeepers' defense is broken, and the morale of the soldiers, both infantry and zoid pilot alike, is low. President Iyaton is ready to sign the declaration of surrender the Trillstani ambassador sent. All hope seems lost for the Republic, until Great Whale Kings bearing hundreds of Imperial zoids descend behind the Trillstani lines. Coordinating in an attack the likes of which haven't been seen since the days of Prozen, nor has it been seen since, the battle-weary Republican soldiers fought alongside the fresh Imperial troops, soundly defeating the Trillstani.
NC 20: An Imperial task force between the Republic and the Empire lands on the Eastern Continent. They are under the command of General Arthin, a former officer of the Republican Peacekeepers with a vendetta against the Trillstani.
NC 34: Through a long and bitter war, the Eastern Republic is occupied by Imperial forces. The Trillstani are hunted almost to the point of extinction. Ironically enough, a handful find refuge in Delpoi, taking new names and living their lives as ordinary members of the Republic. Most of those that escaped the Imperial genocide were those that escaped at the very beginning of the new war.
NC 41: Seven years after the Empire's control over the Eastern Continent was solidified, the first few Imperial Colonies prove their worth by becoming self-sufficient.
NC 43: The Republic, after negotiating for two years with the Empire, establishes the independent City-State of Athens as a refuge for the Trillstani survivors and Republican citizens alike.
NC 45: Tensions exist in between the Empire and Republic, as always, though they are little more than the political maneuverings of the world superpowers. The ZBC has sole jurisdiction over the sport zoid matches, although the ZBC retains little power elsewhere. Athens sides with the Republic, more than the Empire, though the Guylos Empire maintains colonies on Nyx, the Eastern Continent, and the main of its civilization in Europa.
NC 48: The world erupts in civil war after the Empire attacks and annihilates Midnight City using the Aconitum Death Saurer. This is the first year the Royal Cup Tournament has been suspended since the founding of the ZBC; it would not resume until the war's end.
NC 56: After a long and bloody war, the real carnage begins. The Guylos Empire releases the Geno Trio, three Geno Breaker variants designed to wipe out the enemy far more efficiently than the original was ever capable of.
NC 58: The Republic begins to grasp the full scope of the Empire's plans when the Geno Trio make a foray into their territory once again. What once were allies are once more bitter enemies.
NC 64: The war finally drags to a halt with the new President Jagra signing an armistice with Emperor Troya. The populations of both the Republic and Empire rejoice, the causes of the war long faded into the dull ache of history. Peace, that goal they had fought to attain for almost a decade, was finally here.
NC 65: The first Anti-Zoid Laws are passed, prohibiting any and all sale, manufacture, and ownership of zoids in any form. The ZBC becomes an organization dedicated towards the eradication of zoids.
NC 70: Bowing to mass demand, the Anti-Zoid Laws are repealed. Zoid matches, however, as still suspended and zoids are not allowed to mount weaponry. The ZBC begins to fade.
NC 73: Athens reinstates zoid matches, breathing new life into the ZBC. The Zoids Battle Commission sets up a headquarters nearby.
NC 78: The Guylos Empire allows the ZBC to resume matches in the Elemia Desert. The ZBC moves back to its old headquarters, but leaves a branch in the interim quarters on the Eastern Continent.
NC 80: Despite stiff opposition, the Helic Republic also allows ZBC-sanctioned battles in its territory. The life the zoid battles breath into the economy helps counter well-founded complaints about the hundred-ton war machines.
NC 84: The ZBC holds the first Royal Cup Tournament in forty years.
NC 92: Eight years later, the world is at peace. Zoids are increasing in popularity, and all are eagerly anticipating the next Royal Cup Tournament.
