Armor DescriptionThe Giga is constructed of the latest materials. A
lot of the latest materials. It's a huge Zoid with the most durable structure around. Its
structure can take more damage than the Gojulas can with both armor and structure. In addition, its armor is insane. Made out of a high-tech composite much like the Konig Wolf's, it is resistant to lasers and plasma. Consequently, CPCs and other plasma-based weaponry are of exceptionally reduced effectiveness against it. It is resistant to shell-based weapons and explosives thanks to the tough materials that form the basis of the composite, applied in thick layers with few gaps save for the larger joints of the knees and backs of the shins. Downing this beast will prove to be quite a challenge.
Mobility and Power SourceThe Giga is based off Giganotosaurus, an even bigger and nastier monster than Tyrannosaurus. Being that it is a giant Rex-o-saurus, the Giga Gojulas is agile and lethal. Frankly, it's one mean mofo. It has a drive system vastly improved over the Gojulas, though it sacrifices the armaments that are the Gojulas's mainstay. The zoid can switch between Grappling Mode (body vertical, like the normal Gojulas) and Pursuit Mode (body horizontal, like the Geno Saurer) in under a second. In Grappling Mode, the zoid can engage in melee much better than it could while in Pursuit Mode, but the zoid is faster overland in Pursuit Mode. As Rick Xaratan has demonstrated, though, the zoid isn't incompetent in melee in Pursuit Mode.
Being a large zoid sporting a core geared towards one mounting far more armaments, the Giga has a fairly hefty power supply. That said, it consumes energy fairly rapidly when it's running at top speed, meaning the zoid can only really give chase for a minute or two before tiring out.
Equipment:Hardened Alloy Gripper Claws and TeethReiteration: The Giga Gojulas is one mean mofo. With a massive amount of power able to be funneled to its various systems, its claws and teeth can strike with immense force. Its jaws and powerful neck are capable of tearing free a leg with little trouble, and its powerful arms able to pin an enemy in place. Despite its bulk, or perhaps because of it, the Giga is
not something you want to mess with in melee combat.
30mm Pulse Laser Beam:The only ranged weapon natural to the Giga Gojulas, this weapon is mounted inside the mouth, where the "tongue" is. It fires laser energy, obviously. However, during the development it was discovered that the initial burst of laser energy is far more powerful than subsequent streams. Interested parties attempted to utilize this, and thus, the Pulse Laser. Rather than a truly continuous beam, it instead fires hundreds of beams per second, creating a massive amount of heat for a surprisingly high amount of damage. Although it can fire continuously, pilots are advised not to fire longer than two-second bursts, and the weapon has a shuttoff mechanism to prevent fire for longer than four continual seconds. Coolant systems in place allow for a 1:1 ratio of cooling time:firing time with optimal performance. However, the cooling time can go as low as 1:3 without a major detrimental effect.
Thanks to a sheet of ladenium installed under the cockpit, there is almost no chance of this weapon actually harming the pilot. In addition, the weapon itself is constructed of a ladenium/ceramic composite to safely handle the outrageously high temperatures of the Nuclear Core Cannon.
Two Tail-Mounted Cutter Blades:These blades are seven meters of tough alloy spike, sharpened like cleavers and mounted on the tip of the Giga's tail. They work more like pickaxes than blades, designed more for point-on impact than cutting. They work nicely when backed by the tonnage of the Giga's big ol' tail.
Stabilizers:Foot-mounted anchors that stabilize the zoid when engaged. They could prevent it from being knocked over by something like a shockwave or recoil from a CPG or other big gun. Note that not many people worry the knocking-down part of the CPG.
32-shot Nuclear Core CannonThe Giga Gojulas' ultimate weapon. It's completely unlike any other superweapon around in that not only does it last longer (around five to six seconds) the Zoid using it can move freely. Well, relatively freely. See, the NCC is effectively a nuclear machine gun and Godzilla's plasma breath rolled into one. The exciter on the pulse laser is swapped out for an ignition chamber not unlike that in a beam cannon, and the core vents a stream of blinding-hot plasma directly into the ignition chamber, which injects high-energy neutral atoms and "packages" long streams of the resulting high-energy plasma in a temporary containment field. The result is thirty-two blistering beams of white near-energy per second, for five to six seconds, closely resembling plasma breath. While a glancing blow usually won't wipe a Zoid out in one hit, even a second or two from this punishing onslaught will deal quite a bit of damage. The NCC takes merely a second to charge up (mainly prepping the pulse laser and power flow systems), but the effects are felt harshly after the attack ends. The Giga has to revert back to Grappler Mode to even stand and walk, and suffers from the Zoid equivalent of old age for a couple of rounds as it recovers. Afterwards, the Giga incurs, at the very least, a Heavy repair bill to replace spent core fluid and rest. Note that the use of this weapon after suffering damage could result in the rare CSF. While firing the beam, the Giga begins in Pursuit Mode, and its maneuverability drops gradually over the course of the five seconds, including response time and turn rate.
