Armor Description:
The Glaive Quama is a dedicated close-air support Zoid. Like the A-10 Thunderbolt II of ancient Earth, it's structurally sound and has excellent armor backing it all up. It's not quite comparable to the armor on the Pteras, but it's certainly stronger than that of the fancier fliers such as the Raynos and Redler. Its wings are especially tough, and being very solid, are quite difficult to remove.

Mobility and Power Source:
The Glaive Quama, based off a Longisquama insignis, is not unlike a flying house lizard. Fundamentally different from birds and pterodactyls in that its flight was attained through hard, bony flaps protruding from its back, the Longisquama also displayed less mobility then either. The Quama can remain aloft at speeds as low as 200 kph, and displays excellent maneuverability a few notches below the Redler (about even with the Sinker) up to Mach .7. Above that, its maneuverability sharply drops, and above Mach 1, you're pretty much flying in a straight line. On the ground, it's very maneuverable, being a lizard, and can hit 220 kph with maneuverability and traction similar to the Heldigunner.

Equipment:
Pulse Laser Guns
The only ranged weapons available to the Quama. Unlike most pulse lasers, which are dedicated, reliable weapons chunking out repeater-like laserfire, these are at once far deadlier and more limited. Pulling the trigger results not in a steady series of bolts, but a storm of crimson 15mm laser bolts blasting out at around 100 per second. Considering there are four of these, damage accumulates quickly, an asset in a strafing run. The caveat to this is that they overheat extremely quickly. Firing for even three seconds isn't advised, as the capacitors simply can't take it. Like the gatling cannon on the A-10 Thunderbolt II, these are good for a quick burst, then left to cool. Optimum firing rate is a one to two-second burst followed by at least four seconds of cooling.

Hyper Killer Claws
Long, thin talons good for grasping rather than shredding, the Quama's claws are excellent for prying loose armor sections with their strong grip. Best not used to slash, as their mounts aren't as durable as, say, a Shield Liger's claws.

High-Maneuver Boosters
The Quama, instead of a pair of main engines, has a series of small maneuvering thrusters located in the back of its legs and on the base of the tail. The trailing edges of each sword wing also have some lower-powered vents. These give the Quama its excellent responsiveness and maneuverability at lower speeds, but must all point backwards to get the Quama past the speed of sound, drastically reducing its maneuverability and responsiveness.

Sword Wings
The Quama's wings, the origin of the term "Glaive," are actually comprised of eight independently-pivotable swordlike airfoils each. Made of exceedingly durable, lightweight alloys, the wings are also secured by a heavy mounting bracket allowing the Quama to use them as weaponry, especially since they're sharpened to a razorlike leading edge. Excellent for aerial melee combat, as the smaller foils can be used for flyby slashings while the larger ones provide lift. They can point outwards anywhere from 30 degrees down to a bit over 95 degrees upwards. Just be careful not to torque yourself around when attempting a flyby.
