I've not seen this card being palyed, but the way I see it is this:
Upon casting, one player, and that may include the caster, may take 6 damage and prevent Breaking Point's effect from taking place. If no one does so, all creatures are destroyed. This is NOT one of the best sweepers in case you were considering putting it in a deck.

Well since this section is lead by me im answering no matter what :P

ok breaking point says "Destroy all creatures unless A PLAYER has breaking point deal 6 damage to him or her" By saying A PLAYER int he text... the card means that any player may choose to have Breaking Point Deal 6 Dmaage to him/herself instead of getting all creatures destroyed...

Which BtW makes this card useless in multiplayer cuz ANYONE can take 6 damage and prevent the destruction of creatures
