Title: Hawks shocking the world!

I mean they are up by 5 with 1:07 left in the Game! About to force a Game 7 back in Boston which they will lose, but who would have EVER though?

Certainly not MM. I wonder if he knew Game 6 was tonight. This series is a walk in the park for Boston.

Tons of credit to the Hawks but seriously, Boston should've crushed them. They'll win Game 7 and I think they'll still take the East, but I imagine if they struggle with the Hawks that the team from the West would be even more of a headache. Who knows though, maybe this is the wake up call the Celtics needed.

Mattingly23 - May 3, 2008 03:38 AM (GMT)
There was a play at 6:09 left in the game that epitomized Kevin Garnett in a big spot. He did it all the time in his first round exits in Minnesota. He pulled down a huge offensive rebound and instead of sticking it back up, he kicked it out towards the three point line for a turnover. That's KG in a nutshell. He never wants the big shot int he big spot.

And nobody wanted to shoot the game tying three last night when they were down by 3 with like 7 seconds left or whatever. Rondo took the ball up and was desperately looking to give the ball up but nobody came for it or seemed to want it. Rondo ends up shooting a prayer from about 8 feet beyond the 3 point arc and they lose.

I think they will win Game 7, but at this point I think they will struggle with Lebron and the Cavs and I can't see them beating the Pistons in a possible conference finals matchup, although I hope the Pistons don't beat my Magic but being realistic I think Detroit beats us in 6 or 7.

Mattingly23 - May 3, 2008 04:34 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that was a horrible final sequence. Rondo had to chuck it up and air balled it.

Detroit's m.o. seems to be to sleep walk at times. If they play against the Magic like they did against the Sixers I could see this going 7 and I'd give the Magic a pretty good shot at pulling off the upset.

They would be foolish to keep that sleep walking sh*t up against the Magic. They can pull that off against the Sixers, but if they do that against us they will lose in 6, IMO. I don't think they will take us lightly, but they did sweep us last year and maybe they are foolish enough to think they can just do the same last year even though it's a different team. Howard is much better then he was last year on the offensive side of things. Hedo is playing like a totally different players, is now a playmaker and a go to guy on offense since Hill thankfully left for the desert. Rashard spreads the court even more and they work an in and out game ala the mid 90's Magic team did with Shaq garnering double teams and then dishing out to his shooters Nick Anderson and Dennis Scott.

I honestly think Jameer is key, when the Magic get good point guard play they are really tough to beat, just check out the Toronto series. Jameer was very good in our 4 wins and really bad in our only loss. They need him to not turnover the ball much and he has to be aggressive when he has the ball.

The Rangers are fighting to stay alive at 2pm also. It's on NBC, so those who are stuck with that horrible company Cablevision can't cry about not getting VS.

What a horrible Game 7.

Sori4Mvp - May 4, 2008 07:03 PM (GMT)
Wow, the Hawks getting embarrassed, they probably would have just rather lost GAme 6 in a tight one at this point. Watching this game makes me wonder how they even won a single game in this series!

They won because every Tom, Dick, and Harry jumped on an empty bandwagon and made Phillips Arena seem like a home court for the first time since they opened it. Atlanta fans are a joke. They showed up like the Mariners fans in 1995 and the Marlins fans in 2003.

Atlanta has always been a joke of a sports town. With that being said, I don't care who was packing their building, they had no business winning 1 game let alone 3, I'm amazed this thing went 7, but in a strange way I think the Celtics will rally around this Game 7 and play very well against the Cavs.

Watch out for King James' sidekick and my neighbor Wally World in the second round.
