Title: IMO, Shaq is SOOO Bad For Basketball
DrGregoryHouse - April 22, 2007 07:11 AM (GMT)
I actually stopped watching and following the Knicks on a regular basis because of Shaquille O'Neill. The guy is so bad for basketball. He dominates, yet it's nothing to do with being a good basketball player. It's because he's just superstrong in the paint and can make a field day on 2 inch hook shots and dunks. The guy demonstrates sh*t. As much as Hakeem Olajuwon used to bother me since he was so good and dominating, I respected how amazing and complete the guy was as a center. Shaq is just a big muscular body bullying under the hoop. I can't begin to explain how bad I hate him. I remember there was a Seattle guy that "hacked" him and he responded by throwing punches. I could never understand what right Shaq has to ever get upset. He has cheated the game of basketball with his lack of skill, but success nonetheless. I would have a knife and be shanking it in his back if I were a center. Remember Ewing's 15 feet turnaround jumpers? David Robinson? sh*t, Shaq couldn't lace these guys shoes on basketball skill, yet because he's 350 of muscle, he'll be highly regarded at careers end. f*ck YOU Shaq
And I bring this up because I was actually going to watch the Heat-Bulls, but on the first Heat possession, Shaq was doing the sh*t that made me stop watching to begin with. 2 foot FG. Get him out the NBA, maybe I start watching again.

I agree with you about Shaq, sadly though he's one of the better players in this first round series, he's certainly better than everybody on the Chicago Bulls roster.

He ain't better though. He's stronger. Seriously, what basketball skill does Shaquille O'Neil possess? He's just amazingly strong. He should be a LG for the Detroit Lions. Play with guys you're own size.

Thanks Chicago. If only Shaq was injured as well.

I'm glad the Bulls won obviously, but I'm stunned. They can't beat the f*cking Nets in an important game on the last of the day season, I figured the defending champs would beat the sh*t out of them. The Heat are old though and Wade wasn't 100%. I figure Detroit knocks us out in 5 in round two. :no1:

Here's what I don't get. You hate Shaq because all it is is pure strength, not skill. Yet you're in favore of beating the crap out of Red Sox fans at YS when if you're going to maybe not sucker punch someone but sock them in the face when they're yelling for the Red Sox all that requires is brute strength to win a fight in the stands of a baseball stadium. How does that work?

Shaq has altered a game of skill into a sumo match of guys that he's much stronger than under the basket. He's stolen basketball's identity IMO. What I believe about Boston fans has nothing to do with anything except that, especially not basketball. How off-topic could you possibly get?

While I agree that Shaq isn't the most talented or athletically gifted individual, it's not his fault he's a bull in a china shop and dominates the inside. He's huge and he takes advantage of his strength and body frame, nothing wrong with that. I don't think anyone thinks he is one of the best players of all time, that would be silly. However, he is one of the most dominate forces to ever play the game, the rings speak for themselves.
He is the reason I am an Orlando Magic fan. I never had strong ties to any team growing up since my pops was a Celtics fan and the rest of my family wasn't big nba fans. I watched causually then became glued to the Magic when he was drafted. I personally don't care for him anymore because of how he left us, but then again LA did ante up and he loved the idea of playing in Hollywood. The guys is a force, no doubt.
