Title: How do you get around?

These days, all you hear about is "go green!" and saving gas and things like that. So how do you get from point A to point B under the concerns of the world? Drive your Hummer, or perhaps take a little bike ride?

I usually walk, since I have no permit and since everything I need (drugstore, grocery store, Blockbuster, pizza, that sort of thing XD) is a block away from my house. But come next year, I'll be zipping around on a shiny new (and gas conservative!) Vespa <3

I'd ride my bike but... I haven't been on it since 2003 and I don't think I remember how to ride it XD

If it's to school on a ncie day, or just to the town centre I simply walk.
If its a little further a field, like walsall or birmingham centre then I take the bus like the peasant I am. ;)

I live in Colorado, USA so there is no walking places. There are too many fields and such.

So I take my lime green VW bug named "Serenity". The gas sucks, yes, but I don't have another option. When college starts, I drive to the bus stop then take the bus in (but only because parking passes are $300 ~ 151GBP).

I used to have a car that had good gas mileage - then I rear ended an SUV. (Her name was Serenity too. :( ). So at the moment I'm exploring public transit because I live in a city where it's good and parking is mostly awful. But I'm hoping to get another efficient little car. Once I get more practice and know I'm a safer driver, I'm going to take public transit whenever possible and practical.

And I walk. A lot. Did when I had a car too - it's one of my favorite forms of exercise. A lot is in walking distance from me, including my job.

I usually stay on campus during the year, so I need no transportation. If I go into the city it's on the train, which sucks and is expensive, but I can't afford a car at the moment, so it's better than nothing. When I go to grad school, I plan on buying a hybrid, because I'm going to have to live a good distance from campus.

Only one of my friends drives, so unless we're hanging out with him, I'm usually walking, or taking the bus. (My commute to work requires three buses, sometimes an additional two trains depending on what route I take...) I'd ride my bike, but there's usually nowhere safe to store it unless I'm going to a friend's house with a garage or back yard.

Walk, bus or train =]
Sometimes my parents will drive me if it's far away (I can't drive yet =P), but only if we're going out of London. If I go into London, I take the train. It's much easier.
I don't think I actually fit on my bike anymore. XD

At the moment, I have to catch rides because I have no car of my own ^^ My bike is probably all rusted and the like, sadly =/

My little Seat Arosa :D I live in a village which has little in it other than a few basic shops, so if I want to see my friends (who live in the next village) or do something interesting, I have to use my car. I could use the bus, but they're rubbish - they come every half an hour (that's if they turn up, anyway) and stop at half 6 every night. Oh, and there's none on Sundays. Oh, and they're so expensive, with the prices likely to rise soon. So my little car is a neccessity. It's quite econimical with fuel 'cos it's only got a 1 litre engine, which is good for the planet and good for my purse (OMG petrol is SO expensive - (117.5 pence a litre!!!!!). I also try to drive in a way that saves as much fuel as possible.
