I was talking with a friend of mine, who's geting a tattoo. She's worked on the design for a very long time and it has alot of meaning for her.

I thought it'd be a good topic!

I like tattoos, but not big ones. I'm also not a fan of getting things like butterflies just because they look pretty. I'm sure you won't appreciate them as much in a few years.
I don't have any tattoos myself, but I'd get one for a good reason!

I'm terrified to get a tattoo, and probably never will. If I wasn't such a wuss, I might though. :lol: I think if they're tastefully done and have some meaning to them, they're pretty cool. For example, if I were to get anything, it'd probably be either a cross or a Celtic design. (Or a Celtic cross! :lol:) Something I've seen on people that looks pretty is having words of inspiration or encouragement tattooed someplace discreet. A high school classmate of mine has the words "please inspire." on the inside of her wrist. It's not ostentatious or overdone, and it's in her own handwriting, which makes it extra meaningful.

I like SOME tattoos. Like laithwen, I like them if they're well done and if they have meaning. I have a friend who has a couple of tattoos just for the sake of it, and I think that's just such a mistake. It's not something he will be able to look at in 40 years and remember why her got them done and what they mean to him. They'll just be a bunch of stars on both arms. Well done, yes, but not meaningful at all.
I don't have any tattoos, and I don't think I ever will. Even if I could face the pain (and let's bear in mind that I threw up when I had my ears pierced because I found it so traumatic XD), I would want something with meaning, something unusual, something that I had helped design myself, and something I could live with for the rest of my life.

I love watching Miami Ink. Some of those tattoos are amazing!

I'm not a big fan of tattoos at all... I don't mind people getting them (except my boyfriend... I won't let him get one) but I'll never get one. I am just too indecisive to get something permanent

I love tattoos and have so for a few years now. No. I don't got none of my own but I plan on having one in a year or so of something that reminds me of my now boyfriend of almost a year, on my left hipbone. My boyfriend is planning on gettin' a few, one is of my name on his left wrist.

But I agree. Don't get them unless they're meaningful to you.

Yes... I have 5 and I actually sat down and drew them all out.

I adore them <33 I have three years to think/draw up something to get inked when I turn 18 but... I'm a bit scared of the pain XD

This sounds silly, but I'm very into the idea of getting something related to Brandon Lee/The Crow because of the horrible tragedy of the film's actor and because of the wonderful message of never dying love <3

I'd get it somewhere where I could cover it up semi-easily... Like on the wrist or... I dunno XD

I'm a big fan of Bam Margera & Ville Valo's tattoos... those are impressive, classy, and hardcore! If I wasn't such a wuss, I'd consider getting something on the side of my torso, reaching from my armpit to my hip!
