May I suggest a tutorials and resources forum? I'm about to create a number of tutorials and i've already created a pallette resource for the lovely people on this forum but i'm afraid there isn't an appropriate forum to post them/link them.

Do you remember the Holiday Card exchange we did last year? While this isn't so much a forum addition, I think it would be a lovely activity for the members! I talked with Elise about it and we both miss it!

I love card exchanges but some people are picky about giving out thier addresses or email addresses, maybe if we did a pixel-card event it might be better received among the over-cautious? We could provide a blank card outline and they could pixel a front to it as if it were a real christmas card which I think would just be fun, and cute XD

Something I noticed is that we don't have a shop thread? Is there a reason behind this? Especially since this forum would be perfect for it!

What about a member/doll of the month? I know alot of you chat at eden enchanted too and I've always been fond of thier member/doll of the month awards because it's a great way to get to know the other people on the board and see some really great dolls get recognition.

Ah, well, that's because originally, the money script we had was a complete, erm, poop, to give and take money from members. However, alicejelly found a new one, and it's now possible to have shops. However, the staff have discussed it and we think we might wait a while until we open up a shop section. It'll give us a chance to get a few more members and for you guys to build up your money!

So, we will have one at some point, but not yet. I should think it'll be soon, though.

That's another good idea, Kojoro. Now that we're mostly up, running and established, I should think that's something we could start. Let me put it to the rest of the staff :pirate:

Are we going to have a forum listing thread? I was thinking because most people have made forums and I recently made a new one that people would like to join a variety of forums or at least get some members on the forums. Depending on which side you see it at.

The private messaging/ money system is still a bit wonky I have to admit, everytime I get a PM it says I have 2 money donations, I click OK, and then the message automatically is read in my inbox.

I do have a money code, I could give it just depends if this really is a problem for everyone or not.


Also a birthday section maybe, a monthly birthday gift for the people for birthdays, kind of like the UG had but NOT as extensive because that would be exhausting and we don't have that many members yet but it still be a nice gesture

I've asked in the staff section to see if we can find out a little more about the problem. If we find that everyone is experiencing the same problem, then we'll sort something out :pirate:

As for the birthday section, it's a lively idea and something I would like to see, too, but I think we'll leave it until we're a little more established.

Perhaps it might just be me, but aren't we allowed to minimize certain forums on the board (ex. the Role Play threads) so they're no longer taking up space if we don't want to see them anymore? If so, then I can't do it. If not... erm... can we please? :lol:

Just click 'collapse' on the right hand side of the section you don't want to see.

What about the (really adorable) island graphics next to each forum represent if there are new posts in that forum or not? Ex. Use the current one when there are new posts, but maybe make a nighttime verson of the same image for when all posts have been read?
I've only noticed this because I hit the "mark all posts as read" at the bottom of the board but nothing changed on the outside of the board so I had to go into each individual forum to see if anything was new.

I was going to suggest a shop forum ^^; Like treehugger apparently did in November.. maybe now is far enough later to suggest again!

:3 I would just love to see this idea not being so lost because hopefully it can be brought in in the nearish future ^w^

Also, maybe something like the old UG bluebook or whatever it was? XD Instead though maybe it could just be an extra lil forum part.. with a sticky for the rules and a format of questions..
and if able, moderated posting, so people can send one in whenever and after previewed by mods, accepted/rejected..

Basically a little expanded profile x3 If not, I'd still love to see some more things about the admin team at least!<3

one last one.. maybe an attempt of organizing a chat or something? x3 probably by IM systems i'd bet.. where just like (day) (time-time) people can come in and mingle ^-^

Me thinks I've had a thought.

Is there a way to make it so we know if we've posted in a certain thread? Like, the graphic image next to the topic has coins infront of the bag if we've already replied to the topic? It's just kinda tedious having to go through all the topics several times to see if I've replied already.

since we have doll of the month, why not have member of the month too? I think honoring members is a very good idea.. can't remember if the ug did that too.. i.. think they did, but yeah.. *scratches head*

seems like a nice idea..

and maybe some months, have one of the monthly contests be a little writing prose thing :3 since a lotta people around here seem to roleplay and all ^^;

what about a 'trove of dead QOTDs' or something.. where after three or so days, the qotds go in there.. everyone seems to reply to whatever they missed, and they're constantly being bumped upwards.. in its on tiny subforum, people could still reply and all, but it doesn't bump up if people reply to older ones ^^;

I was just thinking, that it would be pretty cool to have a base of the month, where the staff selects a base or people vote on a few bases , and then everyone does a doll or a pixel on the base that is selected/wins to show our apprication for there hard work and giving us insperation...

(don't worry! I'm not suggesting mine of couse, I only ever did two and they sucked real bad!)

and if you would like the idea and need someone to head this, I could of course, I do have like 2 external hard drives full of bases (yes that many!!!) (and I could justify getting another hard drive ::hehe:: )

Would it be possible for members to change their usernames? Of course, this would not be for everyone. Members would have to do something (like buy the change with Coconuts or have XXX amount of posts). Because personally, I used this username so people would recognize me from the UG, but now I'm really sick of it. I've had it for 5 or 6 years now and I need a new one. :)

I don't believe this has been mentioned... What about member titles?

edit also.. was the staff chosen by those who had been staff at the UG? or is it completely new? [was a mod toward the end and is just curious]

Ok, quick update on your suggestions :)

Dulcis Somnus - Shops are in the works! We're thinking about some sorft of big profile page, but there's nothing definate. We decided that the forum is not big enough as of yet to include some sort of chat mechanism - desipte how popular the UG was at its peak, hardly anyone used it, and we're nowhere near that sort of size. We're trying to sort something out for Member of the Month. Montly prose contests probably would not be that popular a the moment, and we're mainly a doll forum, so for now we're not going to implement that, but we'll keep it in mind. We'll also think about somewhere to put the QOTD's, but at the moment there isn't much else going on in chat than the QOTD's!


HPRocks14 - as you can see - the icon to show you've replied to a topic has been added :D As for changing names, I've put it to the other mods.


harukamae - There aren't enough people posting bases here at the moment to shave any sort of monthly contest for dolling on a base. We could go out of the forum to other websites and find bases each month, but it would mean getting the permission of the base-maker, and we decided that it just isn't plausible at them moment. We're gonna keep it in mind for the future, though.

As for the staff - the original LL staff (alicejelly, patch, demirox and myself) came from the UGTemp. The UGTemp staff started out as just alicejelly and I. On the UG LiveJournal thread I asked if anyone was interested in setting up a temp forum, and aliejelly wanted to help. When we set the UGTemp up, we included a thread which told all the old UG staff (of which I was a member) to contact us and we'd update them to being mods at the Temp forum. Some did that, but a couple of them then seemed to disappear. The active mods at the UGTemp became the mods at LL. We then decided that we needed some more help, so asked Ara Grey and treehugger to become staff, since they were active and willing to help. I hope that explains everything.
Was your username the same at the UG? I didn't recognise it when you joined LL.

No, I was crazyxcourtney at the UG ^^ I was set as a mod mostly for the RP section but I did try to help as much as possible whenever.
