Description: Read about the Draft Guidelines

The Expansion Draft will be used to start our sim league. It is very easy, and it will be a good way to breathe excitement and activity into the league.

First, each team will be required to protect 1 player from their current NBA roster. Once all teams have chosen a player to protect, the draft order will be determined. The teams who protect a lower rated player will have a higher pick than a team who protects a higher rated player. (Example: Atlanta will get a higher pick protecting Josh Smith than the Cavs will protecting LeBron James). This helps balance the power in the league. All odd numbered rounds will follow this order, while even numbered rounds will be the reverse order.

We will then draft 11 rounds to fill the team's rosters.

The draft schedule will be decided in the near future.

Draft picks cannot be traded during the draft. You can discuss trades and verbally agree to them, but they cannot be completed until after the final round of the draft.

Is it snakelike, so the person who picks last in the first round, picks first in the second round?

yes--the draft order will be the same in the odd number rounds, and the order will be reversed in the even number rounds

By ratings example

Dwight is 69 and Hill is 73 so if you protect Howard you will get a higher pick in the first round than if you pick Grant ok ?
