Salem police say school girls trade sex for meth

The Associated Press

Up to a dozen girls at a middle school are suspected of trading sex with adult men in exchange for methamphetamine, police said.

Detectives have been working to identify the girls at Waldo Middle School, some as young as 12, and the men involved, police told KGW-TV in Portland.

The men likely will face rape charges, Officer Laura Seefeldt said.

"If this is what you are doing with our young women, you are going to prison," Seefeldt said.

She says meth problems have become "an everyday thing here in this city," but police were suprised by the tip that led to the middle school investigation.

"Too young," Seefeldt said.

One parent, Jeanne Zachary, put it even more bluntly: "Shocking."

The Oregon Department of Human Services said more than 1,700 children were treated for methamphetamine problems in 2003, which is the latest year for available data. In the past five years, the state agency said the number of girls affected by meth in Oregon has jumped 57 percent.

I saw this on Fox news and felt just sick to my stomach. I'm not sure how meth effects the areas you live, but here, in the Pacific Northwest, the meth problem is just insane.

There should be a separate site just for the "teeth of meth."

It really methes you up. :lmao:

Thanks to an influx of meth heads, people are now going to have to register with the state every time they buy a box of Sudafed. When Sudafed is outlawed, only outlaws will have Sudafed.

But you know, we had crack whores 10-20 years ago. Now they're meth whores. In another 10-20 years, I dunno, they'll be "neural implant whores." The human race's capacity for self-degradation is limitless....

20 years ago meth was the rage in my area. Now it's still around but not as easy
to get having been repaced by powder, crack, and heroin.

As for those Faces of Meth, I'm not sure what to think of that.

I would trade sex for a white chocolate-chip macadamia nut cookie.

If not sex, I would at least trade 50 cents for one. :D

Since just before Christmas, we have had three evacuations of areas of the city I live in for meth lab explosions. (None close to where I live luckily). I'm sure the same issue of trading sex for meth or crack goes on here. Meth is becoming a bigger problem here now than before.

And all the bigger stores have all the Sudafed (and the like) locked up behind glass doors and you have to get a pharmacist to get them items for you after you have been given the hairy eyeball test to see if you need it for actual medicinal purposes.

When you say hairy eyeball test, is a hairy eyeball one of the signs you've been abusing meth? :GH:

Not looking for hairy eyeballs, they just look at you with "the hairy eyeball look". You know as if you are a meth-head and not a cold sufferer.

So wait a minute. You get hairy eyeballs what, from a cold or allergies? And then to treat those hairy eyeballs, you have to take Sudafed, which is illegal? But then the pharmacist has hairy eyeballs too? Couldn't they just tell if you're a meth-head by all the scabies on your face? Is that what happened to Katie Holmes?

So many questions and so few real answers...

If it gets to the point that you have to undergo drug testing to be able to purchase allergy medication, I am going to have to live in a bubble rather than go through the annoyance of all the paperwork I'd have to go through.

Getting help for those who want it to get off the crap would be ideal, but that again is perfect world ideas.
