Sounded to me like Elvis Costello, but I'm not positive...

Yep, it's Elvis Costello. I remember reading that they we're going to have him do that song.

Nessun Dorma. Loved that House was listening to this on his iPod. It's my favorite aria.

I presume that is the name of the aria and not the performer. Anyone know who the performer was? I likes that scene as well. Love House's eclectic musical tastes. They really do need to put out a soundtrack disk or two.

rtl - yep, name of the aria. It's from "Turandot" by Puccini and it's an absolutely lovely piece. A few years back I saw Turandot performed by the San Francisco Opera and was very disappointed when the tenor performed WITH A COLD and chose to sing anyway instead of letting an understudy take over. Grrrr. This aria - which I'd waited years to hear perfromed "live" - came off terribly and he sung it so quietly that I could barely hear it. Glad I have the cd to make up for the bum performance I saw! The version House was listening to didn't sound like the Jose Carreras version (which is the cd I have), so I'm guessing it was one of the other two 'major' tenors, i.e., Placido Domingo or Luciano Pavarotti. But that's just a guess.
Cheers,

I thought maybe Pavarotti but the diction (Not sure if that would be the proper term here but I think you'll get my meaning) didn't seem right for him. I've found the he and Bocelli (sp?)are very close but their diction is slightly different.
I'm going to have to look for that one. I wonder if they list it in the credits that fly by in fine print?!

Speaking of gorgeous songs, anyone know what that very pretty and soft song was just before the end of Autopsy? The one that played as Andie was saying goodbye and leaving the hospital?

Ditto that- I was just trying to figure that out myself- anyone know?
Or, flip side- anyone remember that website that lists all the music that appears in each episode?
