Title: Wilson's age?

jennamajig1 - July 11, 2005 02:25 PM (GMT)
Random question here, but have a fic idea floating around in my brain and it got me thinking. Have we gotten a canon age for Wilson? Or an approximate? I have read different variations in several fics and could definitely take a guess, but thought I'd throw it out there. I mean, he's done his residency and probably some time after that before becoming oncology's department head.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
Jen

well, he's younger than House (45) but older than the ducklings (~27ish in the show though you'd think they'd be older than that) so my best guess would be around the 35-40 range.

It's a good point, I'd say 35-40 makes sense.

I can't work Chase's age at all from watching Cursed here last night. House says Chase's parents split up fifteen years ago and his mum dead for ten. Chase ways he was fifteen, so I guess that makes him thirty. Might just be me, but that seems a lot older than Chase comes across? Not just the Cameron 'and you are so young' jibe but it doesn't seem right. Screwy timeline?

My guess for Wilson was 37-38ish, so I guess I'm in the right ball park :).

As for Chase's age...I thought in Cursed, House actually mentions that Chase is 26 (when he is talking to Wilson - "26-year-old male, sudden loss of the ability to speak -- to his father"). Which, of course, still kinda makes the timeline screwy, if Chase was fifteen when his parents spilt. I'd probably have to rewatch the episode...

But despite it, that seems rather young, as TelegramSam pointed out. But then again, I'm from the States and while I know here someone would just be graduating from medical school and finishing their internship and entering residency here, I'm aware that different countries have different schooling processes and don't require undergraduate degrees.

Of course I've got this on the brain because, I work at a university, in a biology department no less, so I'm quite familiar with all those pre-med kids, the MCAT, and getting into medical school :). Maybe Chase is just really smart.

1) Chase's age is part of the Bermuda Triangle that is the timeline. "Time is not a fixed construct" and all that. I think an age of around 30 for all the ducks makes the most sense.

2) I would guess Wilson's around 38-40 -- to be a department head and still be a "Boy Wonder" oncologist.

Ah "time is not a fixed construct"...gotta love that :). I agree, around 30 makes the most sense to me.

Works for me. Thank guys! Now to wrestle that Wilson plot bunny I was toying with out of my brain and into paper...
