Title: New area?
Description: Intro area

rtlemurs - May 16, 2005 06:56 PM (GMT)
I've been cruising around, trying to get more ideas to keep things rolling over the summer and I've noticed several of the other forums have a place for newbies to introduce themselves.

I think we do pretty good in the 'welcoming the new people' department but it's kind of nice in that when I went in I could scan through and learn a little about people who where already members.

I thought if we (any current member) post just a little blurb about ourselves as a kind of intro it might help some of the newbies and lurkers feel a little more comfortable. Plus they could add their info too.
I know we have the profile that they could look at but alot of those aren't filled in so this might be a nice quick thing.

I don't know, what do you guys think?

CaitDC - May 16, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
Sounds good. Sends out a very user friendly message, and could get newbies and lurkers to stop...you know, lurking. :)

Benj - May 16, 2005 10:47 PM (GMT)
I'd say its a plan. Have posted here a bit and its a great forum- this would be a good idea. You tend to miss intro stuff in the general flow if its not in a place.

Sanlin - May 16, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
Sure, sounds good RT. B) I'm all for anything we can do to make folks feel welcome and comfortable enough to come out and play. :)

I've tried calling out "Olly, olly oxenfree." ;) But somehow (for *some* odd reason) it's less convincing coming from a creature that tends to hide in trees and probably spends a bit too much time sharpening things like a wickedly sharp beak and fierce claws. Hoot! Hoot! ;)

Really, it's safe to come out. Unless you're small, furry and tend to live underground in a burrow. Then, I wouldn't *recommend* it. :o ;)

Hugs,
Sanlin--resident Night Owl. ;)

hmdfan - May 17, 2005 01:39 AM (GMT)
Are you psychic? Becuase just the other day i was wondering about what everyone on here is like especially since we're all like a littel family now. So I think that would be a GREAT idea. Cuz you know (although you probably dont) that even though I'm member # 5 but i dont know anything 'bout you people. Age (or approximate age :P )and male/female is what i would like to know.

So i say lets get moving to making an introduction area!!!! :D

prplchknz - May 17, 2005 02:46 AM (GMT)
Ok well since I won't do it later

I'm Libby I'm 18 I'm a Junior I live in Memphis and anything else you want to know about me ask.

RealRazumihin - May 17, 2005 12:32 PM (GMT)
Hi most excellent non-Fox-board House fans!

I'm new. That's why no avatar. I'll get one I swear.... (how do you add one, anyway??)

Would have been here sooner, but I forgot my member name . . .

Not my *password*, but my actual freakin' member name . . . now that's stress for ya.

So, who else is freaking out about tonight? I plan to duct tape myself to the couch.

How did you all get into House? I was flipping through channels, and suddenly there was Robert Sean Leonard 20-some years after Dead Poets Society, and he hadn't aged a day! So I stopped. Then enjoyed the dialogue. And finally it dawned on me that, good gourd, that's HUGH LAURIE! From Blackadder! Only, this time, he's intelligent! And that sealed the deal.

You gotta watch Blackadder, if you never have before. The sarcasm is easily on par w/ House. Be prepared for a very different (yet sometimes adorably naive) Hugh, though. Quote: "Oh, I'm as thick as the large-print edition of The Complete Works of Charles Dickens."

Crud. Gotta go. I just knocked a bunch of stuff off the bookshelf.

RealRazumihin - May 17, 2005 12:46 PM (GMT)
PS - N/M, I figured out the avatar thing.

ACK - LATE FOR WORK!

rtlemurs - May 17, 2005 01:42 PM (GMT)
Welcome RealRazumihin! Glad you finally remembered your name! ;)

Well, a little bit about myself. Hmmmm. There's more in my profile if you are intersted but basically I've been on the House bandwagon since the start. Loved Hugh Laurie in 'Sense and Sensibility' and when I heard the name in conjuction with this new show I thought 'Hmmm, I'll have to check that out'. Subsequently forgot all about ti and then luckily stumbled across the pilot while channel surfing after dinner. I've been hook ever since.

I'm born and raised Northeastern Ohio. I graduated High school in 1982 and just recently decided I might like to give that college thing a try. I attend Kent State University as a part-time adult student and have finally achieved the rank of Sophmore Yeah!!!! The plan is to have my graduation and retirement party at the same time (saves on the gift list).

Hobbies include wrting House fanfic, photography, counted cross stitch, just started to play with Photoshop on the ole PC and find that to be quite interesting, reading (not as much as I like to anymore). I'm sure there are other things but I don't want this to strat sounding like a singles ad! Hi I'm a SWF who loves cats, I'm lookinfg for a ... ;)

I'd just like to welcome all newbies to the board, come on in, join the fun, and bring your friends. It's going to be a long summer!

Benj - May 17, 2005 04:06 PM (GMT)
Hello fellow House fans

This the best House board, love it and the total opposite of the very, very scary official Fox board.

I'm Ben, 25, and living in York, England at the moment. Born in Camden, North London where my family still live. Doing a PhD in philosophy at uni and working p/time at an undertakers to pay my way. Bizarre job - but fits in with my study. Love football and play quite a bit- huge Arsenal fan and love music- big fan of The Smiths and Brian Wilson and most indie stuff.

Got into House through a recommend from a friend living in New York who knows I'm a Hugh Laurie fan. Loved his stuff from ABOFL and House is just amazing. Really got into the show all round - just fabulous - David Shore has written a masterpiece. Great to see Hugh realising his full potential, I was awe struck from the first ep.

Lots of great fic written by people from this board and if I haven't said it before then my hat is off to you guys, you have some talent.

Sanlin - May 17, 2005 05:37 PM (GMT)
Hey, RealRazumihin. Welcome to the Board. I hope you get to spend many enjoyable hours surfing around here. B)

***
As for myself, online I'm known as Sanlin. In this more sedate and mundane incarnation I am a poet, humorist and general bum. ;) I write song parodies for the "House" fandom and also dabble in cap-toons like the Plot Bunnies and the Feeble Empire. I have a very nice--and extremely expensive--piece of paper around here *somewhere* saying that I have a First Class Honours Degree in English (B.A.). (It would probably make an excellent coaster to put my cup of tea on... I should dig it out, someday, for that express purpose.) Probably not far from that is another paper stating I also hold a Computerized Office Certificate (think 'glorified secretary training' more than 'tremble, Bill Gates!') Although I was born in the Kootenay region of BC (Nelson), I have lived on gorgeous (and *rainy*) Vancouver Island on the West Coast of BC (Canada) for most of my life. So if I'm ever unduly polite or apologize for saying 'sorry' once too often, it's probably genetic. ;) I rarely say 'eh' but I have entertained American friends for *hours* with my pronunciation of words like "about" and "roof." Age? I’m old enough to know better and young enough to do worse. ;) I have widely (wildly?) varied and eclectic tastes in music, enjoy gardening and nature in all her glory, think of cosmology and particle physics as amusing 'light' hobbies ;) , love poetry and am an almost frightening bibliophile (can't walk past a bookstore without being pulled inside by the mystical gravity of unread books), relish comedy and laughter, have a personal life that tends to explode and be rather chaotic at the best of times, spend too much time online with my latest happy obsessions "House" and all things related to this fandom and am generally curious about virtually everything. Being a genuine Gemini, we... er... *I* really am 'my own evil twin.' :o ;)

But at night, that's when I come alive and am the Night Owl. Feathered fiend. Arboreal. Nocturnal. Chronic insomniac. It's in the wee hours that you'll find me slipping from my habitual concealment in the pristine, dense forests of North America where I am the bane of online trolls but not necessarily my furry friends. Yes, it is my secret shame that although I've been known to gum hamsters like furry bubblegum ;) , I do not have my Owlish brethrens' usual tastes for rodentia delecti. I'd much rather have a nice hot cuppa or a wee nibble of chocolate. Don't tell the other Owls. <_< It just upsets them. Generally, I am rather easygoing. But, if cornered, rousted too early from my roost or seriously annoyed  , I have a beak and claws--and I *know* how to use them. :o Don't ruffle my feathers, and I'll try not to ruffle yours. ;) I can generally be found online, late into the night, posting, playing and having fun. I am fluent in Owlish (Hoot! Hoot!), a member in good standing of the Society of Feathered Friends and have been accused at times of being wise. But, a good *beaking* usually puts a stop to *that* kind of talk. <_< *Humph* Yes, admittedly, I can be rather owlish... But, I *am* an owl, so what do you expect? ;) Any time before noon is referred to (when it must be mentioned at all) as the 'M' word. *shudders* In my experience, reality is best avoided until afternoon, at least, unless catering to crack of O' yawn Muses. *feeds Muses some Muse Yummies* My hobbies include dressing up as the rare Spotted Owl and flying around logging sites to bollix up their destruction of my natural habitat, the featherheads... Ask me about my age and I will *beak* you. *Harrumph*

Hugs,
Sanlin the Night Owl Hoot! Hoot! ;)

Auditrix - May 17, 2005 06:26 PM (GMT)
Hi. I'm Auditrix, and I think I am the only lark in the fandom. I live in the Washington D.C. area, where I'm a stay-at-home-Mom. My little boy is four.

In my past life, I have also been a registered nurse doing bedside nursing and then auditing.

I've been watching House since almost the beginning and am one of the refugees from the Fox board. I write House fic, and was honored this spring with a turn in the Author Spotlight.

Shadow Ishtar - May 17, 2005 11:35 PM (GMT)
From the newbies and lurkers thread:

Hi guys, I'm new. I lurked for a bit and then registered.

The first episode I saw was Cursed and I've been hooked since then.

Thankfully my grandma had the whole season taped, and I have seen all the episodes. I am so addicted.

I also got my bio teacher and my math teacher hooked.

I have almost got my bio teacher convinced to let us watch an episode the last day of classes...I wrote out all the episode summaries and am going to let her pick. No one wants to do work the last day of classes...

NEW DEVELOPMENTS:

Math and Bio teacher looking foawrd to tonight. I am so excited! HAPPY TUESDAY, y'all.

Intrests incude: reading, writing, being crazy with friends (who are slowly being converted to House, but it takes longer, heh heh!), fantasy anything, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Lost, 24.

I have an EVIL dog (Thunder, girl) and two cute gerbils (Potato and Ishtar, boys. Potato is my sister's and Ishtar is mine).

My lovely avatar was made on request by carmendove. See signature for link.

I'm a student and that's all I'll say on that.

I'll stop boring you guys now, heh heh. Anything else wanted to know, ask me!

Marisol Jackoweskla - May 17, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
Welcome, new folks! It's great to see all the new... er, avatars?

Anyway, I'm Marisol. Howdy. I've been around this board from the very beginning, and I'm one of your modly-types. I started watching House when I was home for the winter, and my dad had "Damned if You Do" on, and I was hooked. And the rest is history. Although I've been in House fandom for only about 6 months, I've been in other fandoms, such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Sailormoon, Hellsing, Redwall... and I could go on. Internet fandom is my friend.

In my "real life", I'm working toward a BA or BM in Music (vocal and organ performance) at Battlefield College, USA (clarification granted upon request). Needless to say, it was House playing the piano that got me really hooked on the show, and I analyize the music to it's fullest extent. Yum, music.

I'm a New Yorker, and I have the quickness of temper, wit, and tongue of one. And I swear like an Italian, although I try to curb it online.

I'm not always here on the board, per se, but I'll always be here in transcripts, have no fear. :D Glad to know you all!

Jaxgirl - May 18, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
Hello! I'm Jaxgirl and I live in Jacksonville, FL (get it... ). I got interested in House because I'm a fan of Hugh Laurie. This is what I have listed in my profile for this site, so I thought I post them here, just in case you haven't seen it before:

favorite movies: Chicago, Notting Hill, Moulin Rouge

favorite TV shows: House, The Simpsons, Late Show w/ David Letterman, the CSI franchise (my other obsession)

favorite sports: baseball, football (NFL & college)

favorite music: BNL, Diana Krall, Garbage, U2, John Mayer, Michael Buble...just to name a few

Any other questions, ask away!

ambragail - May 18, 2005 04:34 AM (GMT)
Hi everyone! My name is Ambra (the Gail in my member name is my middle name). I was named after my paternal grandmother who died from childbirth complicationa after my dad was born. She had an identical twin named Edna so I'm glad the names weren't reversed! No one knows where the name came from for her--even her mom couldn't remember! I grew up in a small town on the edge of the Tidewater VA area and now live in a small town on the edge of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of VA. I'm 38 and recently went back to school to become a massage therapist and will be finishing my courses in that in about a year. I also have a degree in English and enjoy writing and have had my first fanfic writing experiences with this site. No husband or kids but I have 2 cats, one of which, Prima, is featured in my avatar. The other, Frankie is a big priss but I love him too! I enjoy reading and have an interest in the paranormal because of personal experiences--lived in 2 houses where weird things happened. Got into "House" with "Occum's Razor"--I've been a Hugh Laurie fan for awhile and the "clinic rant" sealed the deal; my Tuesday night ritual is to turn the ringer off on the phone, the sound off on the answering machine, curl up on the couch, sometimes with a glass of wine from one of the wineries in the area, and watch "House". I also enjoy the original CSI, Family Guy, South Park, Kids in the Hall, and Firefly. That's about it--a big welcome to all you newbies and I look forward to reading your posts!

Taruia - May 18, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
Ok well I guess I should introduce myself as well. I'm Taru, the current dictator of the moard. I'm an insane, obsessive, HS student with way too much time on my hands. I love House more then anything, except Wire in the Blood is running a close second right now. I have a tendancy to be very active on a site for a while and then disappear for a while, mostly because this is track season and I have no life. I don't really know what else to put in here that hasn't already been said somewhere else, or it's totally irrelavant and I don't want to waste all of your time. I guess that's all for now, and if you ever need anything I am usually on, but just quiet.

Taru

lfeflght - May 18, 2005 03:36 PM (GMT)
Hi all,

Lfeflght here....aka Teddy.

Well a little about me. I'm 35, live in Cuyahoga Falls (Akron) Ohio and I'm a CCRN. I'm a medicine fanatic so I decided to check out House and fell in love with the show from the start. I thought Mr. Laurie was incredible and watching Lisa Edelstein didn't hurt the cause either.

Oh, I'll be doing my first triathlon on June 26th and thanks to Tauria's obsession with a certain item of House's clothing I'll be doing the run in Nike Shox. Thanks, they are incredible running shoes!!!!

Taruia - May 18, 2005 05:33 PM (GMT)
They are great shoes! I love them, as you can very well tell, are you using the 4 shox ones or the 5? I've heard that there are some advantages to the 5, but I totally prefer the 4, the 5 makes my feet feel off somehow...ok, enough rambling about shoes, I should post some pics of my throwing shoes, they are much pretty.

Taru

lfeflght - May 18, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
That's funny you should say that. The 4. I have no arch in my foot and when I went to try on the five they made me feel off balance!!!

That's almost too funny!!!

CaitDC - May 18, 2005 06:07 PM (GMT)
Hiya! My name is Caitlin (though I perfer Cait). I'm 16, and just finished my sophomore year. I live in Augusta GA, where I was born (DC are my middle and last initials). I want to be a Medical Examiner when I get out of school. I got into House with the second episode, thanks to my wonderful dad. I also enjoy CSI and The West Wing. I am a huge fan of classic rock, and I love the Beatles (which House would probably hate me for, considering the Stones and the Beatles where eachothers biggest rivals.) I have a Yorkie Terrier named Lloyd. Only other thing is that I am a huge fan of the medical profession and Sherlock Holmes, which is part of the reason I love House.

Anyother questions, just ask!

Hello, my name is Jen, and I'm a lurker. (all: "Hello, Jen." ;) ) I'm 15 and I live in the Poconos, PA, USA. I've watched House since the pilot and it is one of the 3 TV shows I watch and the only one I don't forget about half the time :D . I have no life so I read, ride my bike, and hike; and surf the net, obviously.
Sorry for lurking so long, I'm a quiet person even while writing, not just speaking. :)

RealRazumihin - May 19, 2005 12:11 PM (GMT)
Oh right, about me.

I'm Illinoiyan, F, turning 25 next week, "Razumihin" is a character from Dostovesky's Crime and Punishment.

I have 2 rabbits, 2 turtles, and a lot of books.

Sherlock Holmes is awesome, CaitDC - have you seen any of the Grenada series w/ Jeremy Brett? It's incredible!

All you runners: Are Shox good for walking in too? My sneakers have just about had it.

lfeflght - May 19, 2005 01:08 PM (GMT)
I don't know much about walking, but they do make a cross trainer that might do the trick. The shoes are very comfortable and offer great support. I do highly reccomend them.

Woo Hoo a first post!!! Congratulation mjk19! Glad to hear from you. :D

I hope you're enjoying your time here and will join in more in the future! If not that's okay too.

Who's your favorite author and/or book?

RealRazumihin-- Basil Rathbone is the only Holmes!! ;) I grew up watching the old B&W episodes and I just can't get used to anyone else in the role.

I don't know; I read anything I can get my hands on. I've read lots of Stephen King, lots of Kurt Vonnegut, some classic stuff like 1984, Lord of the Flies, and Fahrenheit 451, plus The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Lord of the Rings each more times than I can count. (Seriously, I lost count of HHGG at about 12 times :D )

Cathy here... New Englander, former computer nerd turned photographer. Calendar says I'm 40, body feels 50+, head is (I hope!) somewhere around sixteen! ;)

Interests and obsessions: photography, travel, reading, writing, music, martial arts... and... there was something else -- what was it? Oh yeah... there's this TV show...

Former proofreader and editor at a publishing company -- writers, if you need a beta, PM me and we'll see what my schedule looks like...

Benj--you're doing a PhD? Very nice! Which branch/time period/however you categorize it are you concentrating on? Sorry--fellow grads make me giddy. A friend of mine from home just finished up his first PhD year at Cambridge and came out tops in his class. I'm quite jealous of him, mostly for studying at Cambridge. *grumbles*

Umm...SWF, 21, originally from Mississippi and Louisiana, just finished up my first year of graduate school in English lit at Indiana University. Working on the MA, which I expect in December, and then it's straight into the aimless wanderings of the PhD. I need to narrow my current focus of everything written in English in the 20th century to only some things written in English in the 20th century and that's my summer project. I start my career teaching college kids this fall and while I'm both frightened and excited since this'll be my first time teaching, I'm mostly looking forward to getting a steady paycheck. When I grow up I want to be a writer.

Always wanted to play American football but have always been much too small and female, so I enjoy watching it and screaming at the television instead now. Comedy Central (particularly The Daily Show), House, Jeeves and Wooster, music (playing and listening to: guitar/bass/drums and indie + post-rock, of late esp. Modest Mouse, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor), drinking with pretentious grad friends, and hunting/fishing/racquetball/tennis as the seasons dictate fill the hours when I'm not reading for class/exams/enjoyment. All in all, happy to be alive and taking a short summer class on Joyce.

House...just looked like a damn good show in the previews and I started watching it with Paternity (meant to watch The Pilot but forgot to). I've also become hopelessly addicted to this fanfic stuff--WTF?!--which is all House's fault for being such a great show and finally making me give in and start writing instead of just reading. I've been neglecting my cat, the house plants, and Ulysses for months. I need a hotline to call. *g*

Rococoms - May 20, 2005 04:31 AM (GMT)
Hi all, I'm RococoMS, from San Diego, CA. I'm 24 and work nights as a Veterinary Technician at an Equine Hospital, and am trying to get through Pre-Vet during the day, when not sleeping :) Somewhere in all that spare time I also am a somewhat absentee mother to a few horses and small dogs ;-) (I also have a baby horsie due at any time now, so on top of everything, I'm camping out at the barn waiting for it to make an appearence!)

I got into House somewhat hesitantly, quite certain that any show so well written and intelligent would have no chance at all. I am very glad to have not only been proven wrong, but to have found a show with an incredibly intelligent fanbase to match it.

Since I work nights I <heart> fanfic and people like Aud, Sy and so many others blow me away. I keep toying with a few ideas to give it a shot, but until that happens, keep up the good work everyone, and it's great to have found a community with whom I can enjoy this fantastic show with!

Happy Watching!

Hello, to one and all!
I'm a massage therapist living in the OC - and it's not quite as stylish or as sinful as the show of the same name portrays, it's pretty darn close!

House MD sucked me in like a crack addict waiting to happen, when I finally got around to sitting through a whole episode (shamefully, this took quite a while)- but I also love (or have loved) many shows past and present - Lost, Alias, Firefly (really, the whole Whedon ouvere) Stargate, umm... the X-files, Beauty and the Beast.... the list could go on and on.

Love to read fic, love to write it. I have one story posted so far and I promise, (you're all my witness') to post at least one more in the next week or so!

There.

Thanks to Taru and Rtlemurs (and of course, anyone else intimately involved with the process for making this a cool place - I know it's a hard job and I'm glad you're doing it!

Luna

QUOTE
House MD sucked me in like a crack addict waiting to happen,

Lunagrrl74- Thats a fabulous quote- LOL

Sy- Writing my thesis under the loose working title of "contingency, irony and solidarity" - mostly concerned with theories of the philosophy of language and relation to self- Heidegger’s “Being and Time” mostly, with some Wittgenstein references and analysis of post-modern commentaries . Amazing how aimless this can be as you get to the holy grail of studying exactly what interests you most - but enjoying every minute. Wrote a dissertation based in political philosophy for my Masters- mostly focusing on Hobbs and Locke. Apologies- as this does make me sound like I wear Pretentious w****er Nikes- but I guess shoes never lie. Love English lit - like your focus , but so much many great books and writers, I would never know where to start - have a really hard time choosing favourite books and authors . Cambridge is a great town, very much a bubble, but a beautiful one. My Dad studied there in the sixties and had a ball. Grew up in London so I need my daily pollution fix and they have a very poor football team -can’t live a whole week without watching a game- so rules it out as a place I could live, but totally recommend a long visit. Your addicted to fic writing (and I don’t encourage rehab because I’m too hooked on reading it). Nowhere near as organically creative as you guys,-but equally under the spell, so am making House vids. Music and House make for a fatal combination, but it makes me happy.

Ifeflight - CCRN - what branch of nursing is that? I’m guessing coronary care?

ambragail - May 20, 2005 12:08 PM (GMT)
Lunagrrl74--A massage therapist! I may be calling on you for career advice as I get closer to graduating from the program I'm in. I can't decide if I want to work for myself or go with the security of working for someone else or do a combination of both. And you're a fellow Browncoat! Yay! Can't wait for the big "Serenity" film September 30th! Have you been to the official film/fan site? I just ordered some "Firefly" stuff from Cafepress--a coffee mug, a songbook, and a bumper sticker that says "Browncoats--the few, the proud, the hopelessly outnumbered". And of course I have the DVD box set!

flannelsaurus - May 20, 2005 03:18 PM (GMT)
Greetings to the most intelligent fan base out there,

My name is Alanna (rhymes with banana) and I'm hacking through a double major of music and psychology at Columbia in NY.

My sister it to be thanked (and cursed :) ) for hooking me on this show. I'm a complete junkie-- I've been called out on actual irritablity on Sundays and Mondays due to House withdrawal. Luckily, I'm in a step down program involving stashing a few eps on my 'puter. By the by, is it still piracy if I have every intention of scooping up the DVD (once it bloody well appears) and am using my beloved bit torrents as a House patch? :)

I am working up to pumping out a fic. I find the fics connected with this site to be of extremely high quality. I'd love to get involved (after I stop being a chicken.) In the mean time, I love to beta! Please consider me for all your beta needs!

I am a rabid cinephile and somewhat less rabid bibliophile. I used to harbor a secret amibition to be a film critic. I am also a Housephile, but that's not news, as we all are. And damned if we're not awesome. :)

Cheers to all. I love this place.

Alanna, a fellow music major? Rock on! Any particular concentration?

pillpopdoc - May 21, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
Hey there! I am the 'Pill Popping Doctor', Pillpopdoc for short. I'm a board moderator, although I havn't done much 'moderating' in the last month or so. (Family problems :( ) however, I like to think that I am 'back in the saddle' so to speak. Let's see... Hmmm. I was born in Arlington, TX, in 1969, which makes me an old fart, and I currently live in East Texas with my husband, David, and my three parasites, Tyler, Travis and Opal. I'm really into Floyd, Skynard, Bad Co. and anything by Neil Young! I have my own business which deals in the selling of bikerware, body jewelry and motorcycle accessories...specializing in Confederate / Rebel merchendise. I live out in the country, for now. I think my way of life is about to change dramatically. My husband has been offered a job in Houston. I don't mind going back there. That's where I'm origionally from, but I'll have to get used to a lot less privacy and a lot more traffic. As long as I have 'House' I don't mind where I go. .

I adore Hugh Laurie! Who doesn't? He's a God! My husband has grown jealous of Dr. House and talks s##t about him every chance he gets while the show's on. I thinkl It's funny as hell! I love it when House says something really smart-ass and my husband gets a rise out of it! He'ss look at my autographed picture on the wall and say something like, I don't know what you see in him! He's such a smart ass! He needs to stand a little closer to a razor!".

Oh well. He has his fantasy girls! LOL.

Enough about me. I am trying to find time to worl on Truth and Consequences. I've got so much to do in RL, that's it's hard to find time to write. Especially if I have a major move on the horizion. Oh well I love you all, and will talk with you later.

Love, PPD

Shout out to Marisol!

I'm doing music history, and I sing in an early music choir. I can also play guitar and piano, though not well. Watching House play the piano makes me tingly. :)

Hello all. First, a heart-felt thanks to everybody who makes this such a fantastic website. My friends and family think I'm House-obsessed, and it's a comfort to know I'm not alone!
I'm a high school English teacher in San Antonio, TX. I discovered House after (guilty gulp) catching it after American Idol. I'd seen a couple of episodes before and liked the show, but just kept forgetting to watch. I'm a super busy working mother, so TV is a luxury. Thankfully we have DVR, and I have the last 10 episodes saved! I got hooked on the website when I had a student teacher and had lots of time to websurf. Thanks for all the transcripts--I've read every episode I haven't watched.

By the way, in case any of you haven't found it, Hugh's UK website is a treasure trove--www.hughlaurie.co.uk.
