Description: Blah...I don't know why I even posted...

Pain

Pain can guide and
pain can teach,
the answers now are
within your reach

Healing starts and
as such must end
the wind blows
and the boughs bend

The rains are coming
don't fear the storm
your lessons learned
will keep you warm

Learn as you can
learn fast and well
the pain will cleanse
and teach you shall

Don't forget lessons
the past doesn't die
the future awaits
it may make you cry

Ok this was totally random, but gah! House was trying to escape from my head and this is what came out. I know it's not very good, and it's not totally obvious that it's House related, but I was trying! I don't usually write rhyming poems so...blah. This was supposed to be House's thoughts as to why he does to the Ducklings what he does, and maybe a little introspection thrown in for good measure.

What is it about writers (and artists, in general) that so many of us have to 'trash' ourselves and our own work? I think I know. Writing is such a vulnerable, 'open' action: it's not something you can do without putting a lot of what's *inside* (head, heart, mind and emotions) *outside* for all the world to see. But, we're all in the same boat. And if no one ever 'let it all hang out,' imagine all the beautiful and wonderful things we'd miss out on, in this world. Being a writer isn't an occupation for the fainthearted. LOL Only the lionhearted. ;)

Thanks for sharing this with us, hon. :-) I immediately knew this was about House and his 'students.' Because, if anyone's the 'voice of experience,' it's him. I think part of why he teaches is because he doesn't want other people--doctors or patients--turning into him.

Hugs,
Sanlin

You are all too right! I always end up hating what I write...blah...The only thing I was ever totally proud of was a personal narritive about how I had to put my horse down...blah. Well thanks for the nice comments!

Just reading the word "pain" makes my stomach clench as I can recall the look on his face when he said the words "I'm in pain." yeow. Good capture of how pain can also be a catalyst for healing. Good job.

Yeah, that was an amazing scene, Pradon. Hugh Laurie does such an incredible job with House's facial expression's, tone/voice and body language. House's soul was in his eyes, stripped bare and vulnerable, in that scene... and just the way he said those words. The 'lost soul'/anguished and haunted/hunted look on his face... Wonderful, and heartrending, at the same time. B)

Yeah it was mostly that scene that I got my inspiration from...gah...HL is amazing....I just can't see why he hasn't had more jobs...blah...

Sanlin - February 8, 2005 11:46 PM (GMT)
HL's had/done lots of work... We just haven't seen all of it, because it was on the telly in Britain, not on TV in North America. :)

If you look at his profile in the IMDb at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0491402/ he's been busy since the early 80's. :)

Hugs,
Sanlin
