Hey, PPD. :) This was an interesting look into some of the potential backstory for Wilson and House. :)

I'm anticipating, in future eps of "House," seeing if they gradually reference more of House's past history RE: any past relationships, etc.

There's a lot of timelines we don't know, yet, too. Such as how long House and Wilson have been friends. (It has to have been quite awhile from how they act and get along, together. :) ) So far, Wilson does seem to be the only person who has 'hung in there' with House and we do get glimpses of a very different House, at times, when they're together (such as at Christmas.)

I always think of the 'Ducklings' as being Chase, Cameron and Foreman. Then, House, Wilson and Cuddy are the more mature characters. (Mature being a strictly relative term when House is making faces, etc. LOL) Interestingly, although House and Cuddy go at things 'like cats and dogs' LOL, she seems to back House up quite a bit of the time, too. She's not as consistent and universal at it as Wilson is, though. She doesn't always trust House's insights and opinions right away (such as with the infant 'epidemic'). Cuddy 'pushes' House and Wilson supports him. I think he needs both of them, in their own ways, to keep him going.

Hugs,
Sanlin

Thanks for taking a look. "Remembering" is my first crack at any kind of creative writing. I had to download a thisaurus to keep from using the same word over and over. ;) I like to draw and sketch faces and animals. I just find myself with so little time these days having to do the 'mom' thing and keeping my own three little "ducklings" in order. as well as take care of the many animals I have. Three horses. two dogs, chickens, and the occasional possum or two (They have a 'nest' in our garage) Anyway, I'm kinda of being a night owl myself tonight. I hope I can get some more inspiration and time to do more soon. I hope you aren't in too much discomfort tonight. I'll add you to my prayers.

Yours, PPD

Hey, for a 'first go,' you're doing great. :) It only gets easier as you go along. :)

Lucky you--you're multitalented in both the visual and written arts. :) I'm strictly a writer. I wish I could paint/draw, because I often 'see' things in visual terms. But, that's not my particular gift. (If I realllllly work at it, I can draw a leeetle bit. But, it's not a natural medium for me. :-) ) I can work in certain other mediums, though, more along the 'arts and crafts' end of things. LOL I do better with 3-D objects than flat surfaces.

Hey, you have a whole 'mini farm' going, there. I love possums. One of our neighboring islands was invaded by them, and now they're everywhere on that Island. LOL Another friend of mine in the US gets them in her lakeside cabin, too, and is always telling funny stories about them... LOL They can be fierce little critters, though. LOL

Thanks, hon. That's sweet. I'm doing okay, so far. Maybe I'll even get some real 'rest,' tonight. That'd be nice. :)

Hugs,
Sanlin

Thanks Sanlin. You always ahve such kind words for me. I am sick as a dog tonight. I've got the flu!

My husband's nick name is Possum I have a small possum tattooed on my inner right ankle. I feed them dry cat food and they stay around. I think the mamma is pregnant. :) You are right, they can be very vicious. My husband was attacked by one whilst doing something stupid about 20 years ago, that's when he got the name.

He wa drinking with a buddy one weekend, driving around on a dry river bed when they came upon a big ol' possum. David shot it. He thought it was dead and he put it in a drill bit box in the back of his truck. A few days later, he was at a bar shooting pool and drinking some cold ones with his friends and they decided to go out back by his truck to smoke a doobie. David lowered the tailgate and they all heard a deep hissing sound coming from the bit box. He forgot about the possum whish was odviously not dead, but now injured and very pissed off. David being drunk and stupid at the time opened the box and started poking at it with an axe handle. After a few pokes, the possum came up the hande onto his are and proceeded to tear him a new one. He was hurt bad. He fell backwards and his friends had to beat it and kick it to get it to let go. They ended up stomping it's skull. David went to the hospital and had to start the rabbies shot series. Yuck! A few days later the results came back form Austin stating that the animal was rabbies negative. The moral of this story is: Never keep a wounded possum in a box in the middle of July. They tend to get a bit nasty ;)

Got to go. Luv ya PPD

Finally had a chance to read "Remembering." How bittersweet and lovely. I like the pov you chose. Since I've only seen a few episodes it was a great way for me to have the House/Wilson relationship fleshed out.

{{{{PPD}}}}} Hope you're starting to feel better, hon.

Yikes! Poor 'Possum...' and poor possum. :( (I know the little critters love cat food, yes. That's what attracts them to my friend's cabin. Every now and then she'll be feeding her cats or let them into the cabin and think... Hmmmm... *That's* not a cat. LOL)

That whole story sounds like one that would have prompted my eldest brother to say: "What are you doing?" Just like the time he came across two loggers standing in the back of their logging truck (filled with logs) and throwing rocks up at something my brother couldn't see in the rocky cliff by the roadside... My brother asked them, "What are you doing?" Casually, one of the guys replied, "Oh, we have a *cougar* trapped up on the cliff, here, and we're chucking *rocks* at it..." My brother replied: "Do you know how far a cougar can leap? And don't you think that might make the cat *really* angry?" Both guys got the same look on their faces and turned rather pale. They almost broke their necks scrambling down off the pile of logs in the back of the truck and took off in a cloud of dust. LOL So, whenever I hear about guys doing something like this, now, I always say, "What are you doing?" LOL

I can't blame the possum for its actions, in your story. I'm sorry the little critter came to a rather bad end... I hear rabies shots are rather nasty in their own right. Hope this cured 'the boys' of messing with the local wildlife...

Reminds me of another story (also involving my eldest bro). Once, he was walking along and he saw a baby raccoon. Now, this raccoon was the cutest, tiniest little fluff ball my brother had ever seen. He loves animals and his immediate instinct was to try and 'pet' it. The raccoon couldn't divine his good intentions, though, and tried to get away from my brother. Sometimes, my brother is a bit too determined for his own good... He chased the baby raccoon up a Douglas fir tree, about 80 feet in the air. The baby raccoon and my brother made it near the top of the tree, until, suddenly, there was nowhere else to go. At this point, the baby raccoon thought it had 'had it.' It 'knew' it was going to die, but it was going to take this bizarre 'predator' with it... It transformed, instantly, into a hissing demon with wicked claws and dripping fangs and launched itself in a suicide attack at my brother's face... My brother was so startled, he fell, backwards, out of the tree and crashed down, through the branches, all 80 feet to the ground. The raccoon came down right along with him. They both landed, hard, knocking the wind out of themselves. They just stared at each other in stunned shock for a few minutes, and then the baby raccoon took off... Apparently, none the worse for wear after it's terrifying ordeal. LOL But, I can only imagine the story it had to tell when it got home. "There I was, no kidding... Thought I was gonna die!" LOL My brother, for his part, was bruised, but wiser, after this encounter. LOL

It's my pleasure to post replies to your and other folks' work. I feel if I get to enjoy your writing, the least I can do is take the time to reply. :) I don't always have time/energy to respond to *everything* I read, but I do my best... :)

Hugs,
Sanlin

Thanks! I love you to! I hope everyone's feelin' better soon down there.

Too bad I don't live a little closer to Texas or I'd really bring you some soup and a warm fuzzy blanket. But since I'm stuck here in snowy Ohio I'll just have to send cyber wishes! ;)

So did you have a wonderful birthday?

pillpopdoc - February 19, 2005 05:24 AM (GMT)
I wish you could come and doctor me up too. My kidos were sick again this morning. Back to the doctor. It's never ending! I can't shake this sore throat! I'll finish my antibiotics, and it will come back. Like the bugs are mocking me.

I had a good birthday over all. My husband took us to my favorite resturant. Our sitter was unavailable...studying for tests. So, we all went. Which was cool, until about 10:00. That's when my little girl (21 months) decided she was going to start heaving her dinner and everthing else up! Poor baby. I was up until 1:30 in the morning with her. It was just one of those 24 hour things.

Anyway, I'm going to try to work onb my fic. Your sticker will go out Monday morning.

Love PPD
