I'm always happy to see another poet on the boards. :-) I look forward to seeing more work from you. B)
It's not *quite* 3 a.m. as I type this, but it's headed that way... LOL This is why I'm the "Night Owl." ;)
Yeah, I get the impression that between House's leg (with its attendant chronic pain) and personal demons, he probably has a lot of sleepless nights. (Which, apparently, he spends a lot of time reading through, if the stacks of books around his home are any indication...)
And, what *is* he drinking? Most people have guessed Scotch, but I've yet to see the bottle... Mixing painkillers with alcohol might be *yummy,* ;) but not very smart... :o
House never strikes me as "insane," though. Lots of people *accuse* him of that state, jokingly or otherwise, but he seems to have all his marbles in the same jar. LOL He just does things in nontraditional ways, accepts consequences that most other people would balk at and bucks the curve. Depression? Probably a given... Personal demons? A virtual certainty. I don't think he could do the job he does without it affecting him on a deeper level. I think he 'shuts down' part of his personality at work and then 'unpacks' everything once he's safely ensconced in the sanctuary of his home. He doesn't use his cane, at home, and that's where he shows his 'inner life:' playing the piano, etc.
There's not much in the show's canon, yet, about any past relationships that House has had. (Except for Wilson.) It'll be interesting to see what's brought out in future eps... :)
Hugs,
Sanlin
Thanks for the imput. I'm glad you like it. I never really thought of Dr. House an 'insane' either. But, with all the trials and and emotional struggles he faces on a daily basis, I would imagine it woud make someone, especially with the high IQ that he possesses, a little nuts sometimes. I would think that inner turmoil would make it hard to have an emotional relationship with a woman. It's true, we don't know much about Hpuse's past, Fox hasn't revealed much...yet. However, I have a feeling that it would take someone really special to extinguish some of that fire and take from him the bitterness that has. I wish Dr, House did have someone to love him. Love is a great healer and evryone needs someone. :)
