Title: Games

January? No no no no no no no no...

Tonight's episode had pacing issues, but it was still enjoyable. House's plot to keep three candidates was good even though I'm not thrilled with his choices. 6/9 (what was ever his real name?) is too much of an idiot for me, and I think 13 is just cowardice on the part of the producers. I still like Plastic Surgeon, though, so good for him.

"That's the dumbest thing I've heard in my life." Wow, that's...something, coming from him. I like how he was popping Vicodin in front of 13.

House and Wilson haven't had a yelling fight in a while. I didn't really miss it, to be honest. <_< If House wants Wilson to butt out of his life so badly, maybe he should stop going out of his way to butt into Wilson's.

I liked Cutthroat B**** in this episode. I was actually sadder to see her go than I thought I'd be.

House was making me impatient tonight. I can't put my finger on exactly why (the thing with Wilson and the constant chipper comments about his game probably have to do with it) but this felt like one of House's more obnoxiously adolescent episodes, and that's not my favorite tone for him. It's weird, because last time he was pulling magic tricks and stealing underwear, but he seemed much more--not mature, exactly, but adult. Like, despite his snark and the weird/cold/illegal things he did, he was truly at a higer level of competence than his employees, and he was Wilson's (and Cuddy's) colleague and companion instead of an unruly teenager they were trying to rein in. The character seems to fluctuate between those two interpretations, and I like the episodes where it's the other one.

By the way, that other guy should have beat our POTW into the ground for messing up his guitar. If you're going to decide to not care, you can't complain either.

LOVED this episode..it reminded me of episodes from seasons 1 and 2.

Loved the argument between House and Wilson in House's office towards the end of the episode..very good!!

Loved the lots of Huddy and House/Wilson screen time. The look Hugh gives at the end when Cuddy finds out that House kept the exact people she told House to keep..that look was so sexy! YUM!!

I'm glad that House got rid of 13 and CTB, the remaining ducklings are much better.

my favorite duckling line was when Plastic Surgeon Guy told Chase how he wasn't going to be involved in the operation..the way he delievered it and the look on Chase's face was priceless!! LOL

Overall, a great episode!! I'm annoyed though we have to wait until Januaray for new episodes!

does anyone else here think that the scenes with Wilson telling Cancer Free Man that he didn't have cancer were funny? The guy's reaction was shocking, but not as funny as the look on Wilson and House's faces. LOL

Also the look on Wilson's face after he realized he was being sued by this guy because Wilson made him happy was just priceless!

When House and Wilson discussed this in House's office, that too was funny.

Pretty ironic that a guy would be mad (and sue Wilson nonetheless) about being cancer free.

Good subplot :)

It was far from a bad episode, but it won't be my favorite most likely. I agree that while House's behavior was more juvenile with the underwear stealing etc. he seemed less mature this week. I'm not sure why.

I really don't know how I feel about the new ducklings. I certainly don't dislike any of them, but I have to say that for the first time this week I saw the annoying aspects of Cameron in 13. And this week I was back to relating to CTB. I know the feeling of trying to be "good", keeping your head down, and obsessing about everything then seeing someone who doesn't seem to have been trying at all get ahead, so I feel for her. I'm not really all that cut throat, but I have definitely been there and felt the jealousy. I also liked Plastics guy's manipulation of Chase, the guy is good. At this point the third guy seems to be sort of a non-entity to me. I believe he is the one who keeps having interesting accidents e.g. shocking himself with the defibrillator, but I'm not sure. As a matter of fact, it's probably telling at the moment that I don't know what to call him, aside from Kumar--which I picked up from posters on another board-- as he apparently was that character in the movie Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle (and as an aside, I don't get it, the White Castle burger I had, being from the Western US, was gross). Well maybe now that he's one of the featured players we'll learn a bit more about him, or at least I'll finally get his character's name straight.

It's odd, I'd always pictured House as being at least a bit into at least early punk, say the Sex Pistols, The Clash, Ramones, etc. (and watch me be teased now for what I understand as punk  ), so I was a bit surprised that he didn't care for Johnny (?) Quid's music. Although I guess he'd sort of crossed from music into dissonance or actually flat out racket, so perhaps it makes sense after all. Given his reaction to Quid, I guess maybe we've been misreading House a bit in the don't care what others think/if I live or die thing.

I have to say as well, while I think House and Wilson are beyond sweet when they're getting along, I sort of enjoyed seeing the yelling match. They're also pretty interesting when they're confronting each other too. And yes, House doesn't seem to understand that if he keeps getting in other people's "business", especially Wilson's, other people will feel justified in getting into his, especially Wilson.

I too am bummed that it'll be until January until I can get my fix again.

Not an awesome episode, but at least the "who will he hire" game is over and we can move on. Neither of my favorites (Riducluosly Old Fraud and Cole, the Mormon) made the final cut, though I don't hate the ones who did. Plastic Surgeon is OK. His ability to manipulate is interesting, but I don't think I can strtech my limited sympathy for phlanderers beyond Wilson to include him. 13 has had some OK moments, mostly with Cole, who is now gone. Not sure she can live up to her hype. If they let her fade into the background for a bit and don't pull a Cameron on us, she might be tolerable.

Catlady, I agree that the third one -- Kutner -- is a bit of a non-entity so far. He comes off as a thrill seeker, a bit of a suck up, creative but not obviously intelligent. I would LOVE it if, over the course of a couple of seasons, the writers showed him growing into the next Chase. Not sure I trust them that much any more, however.
