Title: Guardian Angels

Can it be, no one has gotten around to starting a topic yet? No. Must I do everything?!? :P <--------- kidding, obviously. It's the first time I've started an ep. topic, so I guess I should be honored or feel proactive or something.

Well, not a bad episode by any stretch, but I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as I expected to.

I didn't see the ergot thing coming, but what Cut-Throat B*tch (CTB, henceforth) said is true, many witch hunts or cases of werewolves were probably the result of ergot poisoning or the accidental ingestion of some kind of natural hallucinogen. Incidentally these things happened more often among the poor because all they could afford was rye bread whereas the upper class had better bread for the most part-- the things one learns from watching Discovery obsessively. I've got to wonder if the tongue-in-cheek take-home message here isn't that along with sex killing, organic is dangerous. I mean, wasn't the pork from which Rebecca/first ever POTW got her tapeworm(s) some kind of free-range, organic/home slaughtered stuff too?

Speaking of CTB, I'm back to being sick of her again. I can't help wondering though if the ever present pearls are an homage to Cuddy. It's nice to see a strong woman, but unfortuantely CTB is just a bit one note.

Now as for plastics guy, when he made a statement about not wanting to scar his surgeon's hands, I was waiting for someone to say, "How about I scar the surgeon's head, instead" and crown him with the shovel, it's certainly what I would have done, then again I'm a surprisingly violent (not so ) little thing when it comes down to it. I sort of wanted him to be gone for his sheer "jerkitude" over the weeks.

On an elimination related side note, I want to know where House got those peonies. I can't find any around here lately let alone ones that look that nice. My grandfather used to actually grow some that were that nice, but I can't find plants at the local garden center let alone convince them to grow so well. Sorry, it's also a not very well kept secret that I come from a long line of dirt farmers despite an utter lack of green thumb.

Poor POTW, to lose your mother twice: so heartbreaking. The look on her face as she realizes her mother will be gone again was just so poignant. Yikes.

I honestly can't think of much to comment on now, but give me time, I'll probably be back.

BTW, did they say when the next episode was going to air. I don't recall hearing anything specific during the preview, but maybe that implies that it'll be next week. But then our typical source of TV-watchus interruptus, the World Series, is starting up soon so who knows.

Crap... I should be going to bed. But I'll add a short comment. I actually didn't hate Cameron in this episode! Yay! I hate to be a hater... maybe hate is too strong of a word... I never "hated" her... was just extrodinarily annoyed by her. But now she's annoying House, but it's kind of fun to watch.

I'd really like to see more of why Cuddy wants Foreman back so bad. I mean it's self-evident to me, but really pound it in that House is a little off kilter or something.

The graves were fun. The firing of Henry- sad. He was sly and "nice" but not so much that he was annoying. I'm with you on surgeon dude Catlady... don't hurt his precious hands! SMACK!

Cole is single father... you know, he's an interesting one. I kind of like him. Way to go on punching House and winning Cameron $100. Funny that Cameron and House had that bet and the whole time were trying to make something happen.

CTB is... annoying. Fun. But annoying. I want to kick her.

Does anyone else get the feeling that we've got too many cool characters to play with now and not enough time? I do. I vote for 2 hour Houses every Tuesday.

this episode was ok..too much of CTB being annoying.

what was up with the lack of House/Wilson and House/Cuddy interaction?

I think that the writer's are getting desperate if they have to bring back Foreman..not the smartest move.

this could've been better.

Ridiculously Old Fraud (real name Henry, a.k.a. "Scooter," a.k.a. "Bosley") got axed -- Waaah! I really liked him. If he had to go, they could at least have had House tell him to come back in three years with a medical degree and he'd hire him. The whole "he thinks just like House" bit wasn't persuasive, since in the previous two weeks his thought process wasn't particularly House-like.

OK tptb, there are two things you can do to make up for this: (1) show Henry playing cards with House and Wilson some time later in the season, (2) make Cole (the mormon) permanent. Henry and Cole are the best of the newcomers -- gotta give me at least one out of two.

Overall, I agree with HouseFan43ver that this episode could've been better. It didn't bug me like the last one did, but it felt kind of disjointed. Much as I love the old ducklings, the writers need to find them an actual role on the show or cut them loose. Foreman's job woes were somewhat entertaining, but it's not clear why Cuddy wants him back so much, and I fear sticking him in with the new ducklings will mess up their dynamic. Chase makes the most of his few seconds on screen, but Cameron really needs a new hobby.

I did love 6/9's enthusiasm about going grave-robbing, and his suggestion that they run from the cops, but take down a security guard. And Cole and 13 clinking their roses together when she got selected to stay was my first flickering of interest in her character. Wilson, as always, was adorable ("You're very impressed with yourself, aren't you?").

I have a feeling that TPTB are bringing back Foreman because they can't think of anything else to do with him..jmho..that's pathetic.

I hope that this mediocer episode isn't s sign for things to come..I'm hoping that next week will be better.

I liked Henry, aka: Bosley. He added a cool dynamic to the show. I'd like to see a poker night with House, Wilson and Bosley..that'd be sweet! LOL

God and peace

Not too much to say out of me, that hasn't already been mentioned. I will say I really liked the POTW this episode. 90% of them are stupid or annoying but this one I found endearing somehow. I felt so sorry for her when she was talking to her mother at the end even though she knew it was all in her head. It was real enough to her though, I guess.

The bet with cameron was mildly amusing, and cameron was predictably pathetic, egging on Mormon!Guy instead of letting things proceed naturally. Still funny though, and good to see House lose occasionally (though it would have been funnier if he'd lost to Wilson, not Cameron).

What a weird episode, with the Harry Potter/Halloween soundtrack (week early, guys) and X-files-ish plot developments. It won't be my favorite of the season, but it had some OK moments. The Eggs (they're not Ducklings yet  ) were all really cute during the Bachelor scene. (House handing out flowers...someone will have a new avatar soon. ;))

The thing with House's "grandpa" that they made a big deal out of in the preview? That sort of fizzled and died. There didn't seem to be a whole lot of point to it other than to prove that the patient was hallucinating, which made the rest of the episode less suspensful by making it pretty easy to figure out that Cutthroat B---- was responsible for the wheelchair guy hallucinations. I would have liked this episode better if it had had a little more ambiguity: If the possibility that she was seeing dead people had existed for the whole episode, I feel like the payoff would have been better at the end when we found out what actually happened.

By the way, I would have fired Cutthroat B---'s rear end for that little stunt. Messing with the patient's symptoms without telling House? I didn't expect House to approve of that like he did. Even Cameron told when she did it in "Deception."

Speaking of the Ducklings, I second what tpel said earlier. My personal preference: I wish the writers had just gone ahead and let them go. I liked them fine, but I enjoy the show just as much without them and this halfway in-halfway out thing is cluttering up the episodes. House, Wilson, and Cuddy are more than engaging enough to hold the show up on their own, and the Eggs serve the Ducklings' old purpose just fine. (I wouldn't mind one of the Ducklings maybe making an appearance every once in a while if it was for some purpose other than "Hey look! It's Chase!") And I mean...they made this huge deal last season about how shocking it was that the writers let loose half the opening credits cast, nobody expected it, etc, and then they...didn't. It feels a little bit lame.

Wilson got, what, one scene? :( On the other hand, Cuddy was more proactive than she's been in a while, at least at the end. She doesn't need Foreman back as much as she said she did (fire House or control him yourself, Cuddy! Cut out the middle man!) but it was funny to see her take him to the cleaner's.

Cutthroat B---- kept the dog collar?? I would be much less tired of her if we found out she had a collection of trophies off all the dead patients.

Is the next one next week? Please? It looks good.
