*looks around* I've never been first before. Bwahaha.
Cannon Fodder: "You're not even going to tell us her name?"
House: "You think her name is connected to what's wrong with her?"
...Liz might. But last week is so five minutes ago. <_<
Wilson--what in the world?? Why would he even do that? Even if he is right about the residual guilt or whatever (and I never got the impression House was quite as torn up about losing the Ducklings as everyone kept telling him he was), there was no way House wasn't going to find out the truth, and now he'll never listen to him. Also, Wilson is a very bad liar (even I saw through him). He should stick to being blatant about his manipulation, like last week. ;)
The candidates were pretty funny. I liked the way even Cutthroat Lady didn't impress House too much, and I liked Not-Actually-A-Doctor Guy, although having someone older than House around is going to be weird. I also like Plastic-Surgeon-Who-Has-Been-On-Law-And-Order.
I was kind of hoping he wouldn't talk to Cameron.  And Chase is still competent. Good for him.
Next week looks intense. Can't wait.
"Physics joke? Don't hear enough of those."
:D
Loved it. Schrodinger's cat.
But did I hear them say Chase and Cameron are engaged? Sigh. Just 'cause it happened in real life doesn't mean it has to happen on the show too . . .
Then again, I have no objections to Hugh's real-life musical skills being used on the show . . .
So, what's the verdict? Do you think he imagined Foreman?
Yeah, I liked plastic-surgeon-guy too. And the older guy -- "Scooter." Cutthroat lady was fun for the elimination process, but I think I'll get tired of her really quickly if she became permanent. The woman in the back -- number 13 -- was pretty cool, as was tequila-guy.
But the one I LOVED was LDS-guy (the mormon). He's GOT to stay. How awesome is it that they picked a member of a religous group that tends to be regarded as a bit out there even by religous people, and then made him smart, rational, and just plain likeable?
Really liked this one too. Agreed that cut-throat lady could definitely be wearing.
I've heard spoilers (sort of) about there being something special about #13 and I'm intrigued. I'm starting to wonder if part of this isn't taking place in House's head, but that might be too weird.
I was relieved about the treatment of LDS guy. On one hand I initially thought they were going for the low hanging fruit with a "magic underwear" crack--maybe it's being from Utah, headquarters of the LDS church that makes me think all Mormon jokes/references are old hat, whereas the rest of the country has just discovered something new-- then I realized that while that may be true, House probably would come out with something like that, even if it was an easy target, just because it would definitely get a reaction. Also good in general to have them show that regardless of what House believes, logic and religion can co-exist (of course this show has always done a good job of not making either side of the religion argument look stupid so I guess I shouldn't be surprised). I do wish that the guy had stuck to his guns about not drinking, but oh well (or better responded as I did to the TV: there are neither an abundance of asses--though the real reference uses oxen-- or large holes nearby, I'll never need to worry about it, will I).
And just for more trivia than you possibly wanted to know, the guy might have done undergrad at BYU, or the "Y" as it's known in these parts, but it does not have a medical school (though it obviously has pre-med just like virtually everywhere else). The only medical school in Utah is located at my alma mater and the "Y"'s arch rival, the University of Utah. It's actually quite a good, and lately competitive med school BTW. Of course I know they needed him to have gone there so that House could pick up on his religion (also in more trivia than you wanted, you do not have to be LDS to go to BYU although you do have to agree to live in compliance with the school's Honor Code, which is basically LDS religous standards--no smoking, no drinking, no premarital sex, as well as the more mundane commitment to honesty, etc.--, and frankly, I'm not sure why anyone would go there unless they were Mormon, and there are quite a few Mormons who wouldn't be caught dead within miles of the place for that matter). Sorry got side-tracked there.
I have to say, I've had enough of tricky Wilson and Wilson as psychoanalyst. It was sort of funny last episode, but this time, how on earth did he think House wouldn't find out that Chase and Cameron really were there? And hasn't he learned by now House doesn't really respond to guilt?
Sometimes I have to wonder about the writers on this show and their relationship with reality: Chase in ICU or surgery is definitely a possibility (we've already seen him working ICU, or rather NICU, shifts and his specialty sort of implies that's what he'd do, and I've heard that intensivists may sometimes be involved in surgery), but what would Cameron be doing in ER/Trauma? She's an immunologist. I might understand if she decided to do another fellowship, but she's apparently an attending and I'm not sure how that crossover would go. Then of course, I guess if she were in immunology or allergy there would be no way for her to refer the POTW to House and he'd also be less likely to run into her. Still, um TPTB, our attention span isn't quite that short, 'kay.
As for next week, I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to or dreading next week and House's investigations into NDEs. I sort of liked that House must have obviously had a few--we know he saw the whole light/tunnel thing during the arrest during the infarction because he said so, but don't know if he had a traditional experience during the shooting or what we saw in "No Reason" was it-- but that we don't know exactly what he saw. And what's up with Wilson saying House has never been there when he has (well no, House obviously hasn't been permanently dead, but he's been as far as the patient who reported the NDE)? But the scene of House temporarily dying yet again makes me wonder if there might be something to my dream theory. It should be interesting.
And no, still not really missing the "duckies".
"Have you been drinking?" Heh. Loved that House and Cuddy moment- although Cuddy looked genuinely concerned. When I saw that in the preview, I figured that Cuddy was in on the joke (with Wilson) about Cameron and Chase. Apparently not. What would you think if your best doctor who has been doing nothing for weeks on end suddenly turns up drunk? Nooottt a good sign. That coupled with next week's stunt (from the preview)... should be fun times.
Speaking of next week- definitely looking forward to it. I mean... once you've been through something once, don't you ever get the inclination that the next time you'll pay more attention to what was actually going on? Someone drags you onto a rollercoaster for the first time. It spins, circles, drops and all you can do is scream because you don't know where it's going and you didn't want to be there anyway. You go a second time because hey- it was pretty exhilarating and you want to do it again. This time, you kind of remember where it's going and you can... enjoy the ride (?). Plus... House hasn't had CPR in like... 3 years.... and even that was a flashback that went back further. So hey? Why not?
I don't mind Wilson continuing to perform his little tricks. He's done it from Day 1 when he told House the patient was his (crap... cousin?? I suddenly can't remember) and he's not going to change. Loved that House was a doctor here too- especially when he was going into surgery and Cuddy confronted him. Very cool.
Favorite newby was definitely "Scooter." He was cool. Whiny foreign girl annoyed me. Bitchy girl was interesting. Was the first girl to get fired the one from last week? I like Kal Penn so definitely enjoyed him too.
Yay! For new House!
I really liked this episode. It was interesting to see the fellow's personalities. I liked Scooter and Plastic Surgery Guy, his face kind of reminds me of Steve Carrell.
I loved when House introduced the pateint "Here's Osama!" too funny!
It was funny to see them all figure out what was wrong with the patient.
I liked the Huddy interaction and the slow motion action shots of when the Ducklings walked by..sweet :)
God and peace
Vanessa :)
