Title: A Poem That Fits House

Catlady - April 20, 2006 06:56 AM (GMT)
I originally wrote this back in high school--when we had to wary on the way to school of dragons lurking behind hedges, lying in wait for knights and fair maidens :P -- in relation to myself, as playing the piano is one of my late-night depression coping strategies (and I envy House both his gorgeous grand piano and the living arrangement that allows him to play what he wants at all hours). On reflection, it fits House as well, and, let's face it, I want to show that once upon a time, once in a while, I could actually write. On reflection, it's not as good as I remember it being--what is-- but here it is anyway. For the record, it is written in the form of a traditional form of Japanese poetry, related to Haiku, call Cata Uta--if I remember correctly it translates as question and answer.

Cata Uta
Why do you insist
on playing music when there
is no one in the room to hear?

For the joy of hearing
myself and for company,
when secrets hurt too much to share

:D :D :D

That's all I can say.

I love it, well done and thank you very much.

Seriously, I love it.

Wow, short and sweet and hits the nail on the head! What a clumsy way to comment on such a fine piece.

Well if it's not as good as you remember it, be assured it's still better than most!

Any other gems in your closet? :D

A very short and sweet question and answer sequence. I like the hint of mystery in the answer too.
