Title: House has best ever rating in the UK

Thought I'd share this as it makes me happy :) - I know the figures aren't huge but it is a good result when you consider that Five is a long way behind our four other terrestrial channels in terms of average share and still isn't available in bits of Wales, some hilltops etc.

Plus the ads were pretty cool -sharing a bus shelter with a full size poster of Hugh makes standing in the rain and cold waiting for bus that will never turn up so much more acceptable :D

Had to post this rather than link from The Guardian Media section as its subs read only. Amuses me too because after the recent discussion about typos this paper is affectionately know as The Guraniad here because they make them ALL the time. Still the coolest broadsheet by a mile though :)

House: Hugh Laurie recently won a Golden Globe award for his role as an eccentric doctor

Channel Five's US medical drama House matched its best-ever ratings for the network last night, bringing in 2.5 million viewers.
House stars Hugh Laurie as a grumpy, eccentric doctor dealing with patients with unusual illnesses - a turn that recently landed the Brit actor a Golden Globe award.

Last night's episode attracted 2.5 million viewers and a 14% audience share - matching House's previous best ratings performance on Five, back in August last year.

House was up against BBC1's 10 O'Clock News, which drew 4.7 million viewers and a 24% audience share; and BBC2's Pets are People, which attracted 1.2 million.

BBC1's glossy drama Hotel Babylon pulled further ahead of ITV1 rival Eleventh Hour in the 9pm slot, winning 5.9 million viewers and a 26% audience share over 60 minutes.
